INTRODUCTION
OUR PROJECT WAS TO COVER THE FURNITURE INDUSTRY IN DIFFERNT CITIES. WE
ARE 6 MEMBERS OF OUR GROUP TWO OF US ARE FROM TALAGANG, TWO FROM
MULTAN AND ONE FROM QUETTA.
SO, WE HAVE DIVIDED OUR PROJECT.
WE HAVE COVERED THE MARKETS OF TALAGANG AND MULTAN.THE ONE FROM
QUETTA COULDN'T COVER THE MARKET SO HE DID ALL THE MS OFFICE WORK.

OBJECTIVES
In this project we will study the preference and choice of talagang and Multan
people
In furniture. What does they prefer, readymade furniture or customized?
We will implore the furniture industry of its target market and how do they
monitor the changes regarding the effect of innovations.
Where does the wood come from for furniture use in talagang and Multan?
Do they make furniture themselves in their factory or they make it from someone
else?

industry in talagang?

Talagang Tehsil is a town located in Chakwal


District. Tehsil consists of 102 villages. One of
the major issues in talagang is that there is not a single factory which
manufactures solid taali wooden furniture. They only manufacture sheet and
fiver wooden furniture which have many cons i.e
They don`t last for long time.
They are less durable.
Their color fade with the passage of time

2. What are the rules and regulations from govt in furniture industry?
In Talagang there are neither any rules and regulations from govt nor any
union.

3. What is your target market?


Their target market is mostly rural people.

4. What kind of furniture does rural people demand?


They demand cheap and durable furniture.

5. How do you get the wood used for furniture? Where does it come from?
They get it from various places but mostly from Chiniot because there is big
wood market in chiniot people from various cities buy wood from Chiniot.

6. Which wood is best to use for furniture in Pakistan?

o Taali Wood is considered one of the best for furniture use in Pakistan
because it lasts for lifetime.
o Fir, Chir Pine (Pinus Roxburghe), and Hemlock are widely used in Pakistan
as Softwood.

o Fir is mostly used for windows and door panels. ...


o Chir Pine is taken from Northern parts of Pakistan and is quite popular in
furniture and houses made in the Northern Areas. ...
o Hemlock wood is known as Shekran in Pakistan.

7- Which polish is used for furniture?


Polishing is an art which makes the furniture classier.

o In Talagang, there are three kind of polishes which are mostly used.
o High glass finish:
o This polish is very expensive. It even brightens the fiber wood furniture.
o Glass finish:
o This polish is mediocre and less expensive than high glass. It also has good
shine.
o Sundras low:
o This polish is cheap, and it does not last longer. Its color fades by time.

o 10 to 15 years for sofas/beds; longer for quality wood pieces

o This depends on the quality and condition of the existing wood
o Reupholstering is economical and can extend the life of the piece
o Reupholstering is a good option for antique or one-of-a-kind items

o Avoid this possibility by measuring room dimensions, door frame widths
o Draw a plan of the room (to scale) – include locations of doors/windows
o Go shopping with photos of other furniture that will remain in that room

designs?

We mostly sell readymade furniture only few ask for customization. We can
make everything people demands for, except Sheesham.

MAIN FURNITURE IN TALAGANG

This is Chinioti bed and shop owners buy Chinioti from Rawalpindi, so their prices
are far high as compared to Rawalpindi, Lahore Its price is 125000 RS and the
polish used on this is low glass
Actually, in talagang you can find taali wood easily, but you have to buy it from
Chiniot. People sell wood in Chiniot to get high price. And no one can made
furniture of Taali wood easily in Talagang

This bed is made up of sheets. they are not durable, but they have good design if
they are polished high glass, they are best and cheap. Its price is 90000RS. In
Talagang they used two type of sheets furniture single sheet and double sheet

Sofas quality matters on mattress used in it. Molty foam is considered best. There
prices are different due to design, wood and fabric used on it

TALAGANG MARKET SITUATION


Talagang is best place to do furniture business because there are 102 villages
associated with talagang
Every market of Talagang depends on villagers mostly city people buy things from
chakwal and Rawalpindi nowadays villages are growing like tamman,
multankhurd, saghar etc, so local people are using village markets and impacting
bad on talagang market but in case of furniture villagers have one option talagang
or Chakwal. they mostly buy furniture from talagang and just demand cheap thing
which are best for shop owner

In Multan you can`t rely on labor. They don`t work unless you pay
them more

Their target market is mostly urban people.

They demand for less expensive furniture and mostly like shiny and odd
colors.

4. How do you get the wood used for furniture? Where does it come from?
They get the wood from timber market in Multan.

5. Why is Sheesham (taali) wood considered best for furniture use?


Taali Wood is considered one of the best for furniture use in Pakistan
because it lasts for lifetime.
