Children's Day 2022
Anchor 1: Twinkle twinkle little star, how I wonder what you are......
Anchor 2: Hey, that’s my favourite nursery rhyme!
Anchor 1: Yes! It is my favourite nursery rhyme too.
Anchor 2: But why are you singing it now?
Anchor 1: I am singing it because today is a special day for our
children! They are like the twinkling stars in the sky. But we missed
them a lot in last 2 years and now they are in front of us, so I am very
happy and excited!
Anchor 2: Yeah! Me too! We missed children so much in last 2 years in
the pandemic. But now we are altogether once again!
Anchor 1: The world without children is like a sky without the sun, the
moon and the stars. They are the little angles of God.
Anchor 2: Yes! You are right. Children are the best creation of God;
they spread joy in every season.
Anchor 1: Dear children, you are God’s wonderful gift to us. It is you
who make the world a happy home. A very Good afternoon to our
respected Headmistress_______, teachers and my dear students. I
heartily welcome you on this special occasion of Children’s Day.
Anchor 2: Dear children, today we all have gathered here to celebrate a
day which is dedicated to you, to make you all feel that you are loved,
you are cared and you are wanted. We teachers make immense pleasure
in presenting you a wonderful cultural programme to make your day
colourful.
Anchor 1: As we commemorate the birthday of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru
as children’s day, I request our Headmistress ________ to garland the
portrait of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, and the head girl along with all the
captains and vice captains to offer the roses as a token of love to the
First Prime Minister of our country, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, while we
prayerfully listen to the song.
Anchor 2: We have our rich tradition before the start of any programme
we invoke God’s powerful presence and his blessings through prayer.
So, let’s begin today’s prayer service by invoking God’s blessings on
every child all over the world. Let us listen to the word of God followed
by reflection.
Anchor 1: Now let us pray for all the children in the world. After each
prayer our response will be: Lord, bless all the children.
Anchor 2: Today, we celebrate the birthday of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.
Let us know the significance of this day from the teachers.
Anchor 1: Children are fragile and they need to be handled with care.
Every child must know how they are blessed with good parents, home,
clothes, school, teachers and friends. There are children who are
deprived of all these possibilities. So, let’s watch a video.
Anchor 2: Indeed, it was a heart touching video which showed the fact
of life about deprived children. I hope you also learnt how we can bring
a smile on their faces with our good deeds. Now, to make you all feel
how much we love and care for you, here’s a beautiful song by the
teachers. (Coloured festoons everywhere...)
Anchor 1: Let’s applaud the teachers for their wonderful song. Now, to
make you laugh, here are the teachers with a comedy skit.
Anchor 2: What a funny skit! Let’s give a loud clap for this awesome
performance. Dance makes feet move with a beat and it radiates smiles
to every face around. So, we have here our teachers with the blissful
move to make your day special.
Anchor 1: What a splendid performance! Let’s give them a loud cheer.
Now I kindly request our Headmistress Sr._______ to speak a few
words.
Anchor 2: Thank you sister for your kind words of appreciation and
love. Thanking is the last part of any function and the essence that
makes the celebration meaningful. A grateful heart is always a thankful
heart. May I now invite our head girl _______ to propose the vote of
thanks.
Anchor 1: As we conclude today’s programme, we wish you all, A Very
Happy Children’s day. God bless you dear children. Let us stand for the
National Anthem.
