    GULAYAN SA PAARALAN

    S.Y. 2022-2023

    I. INTRODUCTION

    Gulayan sa Paaralan Program is an activity that aim to promote proper nutrition and mitigate
    hunger among learners. Eating right amount of fruits and vegetables will help develop the body and mind of
    the students, that is why all schools are encouraged to have this kind of program.

    Campos ES supports this program, and with the help of parents in kindergarten, this program is
    possible for us. The parents initiated all the things to make this Gulayan sa Paaralan successful. Since our
    students are very young with this kind of activity parents take over all the necessary actions. As
    preparations, they used organic soil and different containers like sacks, mineral bottles, and others to be
    recycled. They were also assigned to observe the agronomic analysis of the vegetable plants for proper
    fertilizer management, water management, weeding management, pest and disease control measures.
    Proper land preparation, soil sterilization, seed sowing, and transplanting are done by the industrious
    parents

    Learners in other grade levels were also encouraged to do their gardening and apply the good
    practices of gardening learned at school, as part of their responsibilities in sharing and implementing the
    consumption of vegetables among their community for a better health and balanced diet.

    II. ACTIVITIES UNDERTAKEN

    A. PRE- IMPLEMENTATION PHASE

     Land preparation, parents initiate cleaning of the garden area and cultivation of the
    soil.
     Cleaning and preparing the area or space for planting.
     Identify different variety of vegetables, fruit bearing tress and medicinal plants based
    on considerable and available factors like the soil, weather condition, and area.
     Encourages other parents to participate in planting and maintaining their designated
    garden plots.
     Collect animal Hayami and rice hay (dayami) as source of organic fertilizer.
    B. DEVELOPMENTAL PHASE

     Gathered bamboo in making fences and walls.


     Construct garden design
     Designing and planting the different containers as urban gardening.

    C. POST-DEVELOPMENTAL PHASE

     Encouraging the donor for additional seedling with the help of PTA Officer.
     Continue on the gardening and managerial system in maintaining the project.
     Caring and maintaining the plants among all parents.
