To Annabel Skidmore who passed her Violin Exam recently

Over the past couple of weeks the children have been involved in incubating some eggs. We are, therefore, proud to announce the arrival of two new baby chicks! ..names not decided yet but both doing well!

After a windy start, we hope everyone enjoyed the Festival on the Field. It was great to see lots of families and friends and we are delighted to announce that we raised just over 1,600 at the Festival on the Field. Without your support events like these would not be possible so a big thank you. Wishing you all a sunny and restful break and see you in September

Collette Cutmore (Treasurer) & all SCPA News from Burford Secondary School We have been advised that former St Christophers pupils, Jeremy Kirby, Alex Disbrey, Alex Rawle & Millie Jackson have been chosen to represent the school in sporting activities in Australia in 2013. This is a great achievement as pupils are normally selected from the sixth form!

Parents Questionnaire Results

Many thanks to all of you who took the time to fill in the parent & carers questionnaire, we had 62 respondents. The main message was that parents and carers are more satisfied with the school as a whole than in our last survey in 2009. 100% of respondents agreed that we kept your child safe. For most of the other topics had between 88% and 100% agreement. There were three topics where 84% agreed: St Christophers helps me support my child's learning, St Christophers deals effectively with unacceptable behaviour and St Christophers takes accounts of my suggestions and concerns. Over the next twelve months we will be exploring what we need to do to improve your high opinion of the school. We also received a number of useful comments, some of which are related to events this school year; some were positive feedback but some highlight issues that we will consider more fully in the coming academic year. A topic that the Governing Bodys Performance and Standards Committee will be looking as a result of comments is a stronger focus on tracking the progress of split year groups. Trip feedback: The general view was that trips do improve curriculum provision, but a breakdown of costs would be beneficial. The most popular view was that visitor/workshop sessions should be between 1-3, with 3-5 close behind and that off-site trips should be between 5 to 10, with a sizable minority prepared to pay up to 15. You would like more of subject specific visitors: authors, creative arts, theatre and music. More trips to do traditional competitive sport, natural environment and churches/cathedrals. There were some concerns expressed about the frequency and notice given about trips. Many thanks for this feedback and it will be taken into account in the coming year. We would like to thank all those you contributed, and would like to remind you all that the Governing Body welcomes feedback at all times of the year. Either contact us through the details on the website or leave your comments in a sealed envelope in the School Office addressed to the Governing Body.
