Detailed Lesson Plan in Mathematics VI
I. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson the student should be able to:
Visualizing and describe the different solid figures namely cube prism, pyramid,
cylinder, cone and sphere using various concrete and pictorial models;
Differentiate solid figures from plane figures; and
Identify the faces of a solid figure.
III. Procedure:
Greetings:
Good morning, Grade VI Good morning, ma’am Alexandra
Good morning, Teachers Good morning, Teachers
You may take your sit Thank you, ma’am,
Checking of Attendance:
Class monitor, kindly give Yes ma’am
me thelist of absentees today.
Checking Assignments:
Do we have assignments?
None ma’am
Classroom Management:
Kindly take your sit
properly so we can start our
new lesson today!
B. Developmental Activities
Motivation:
I have here a big box inside of this box has
different shape all you have to do is to pick
one shape in this box and tell to everyone
what kind of shape did you pick.

“Very Good”
Do the front and back side have a same “Yes, ma’am”
shape?
C. Generalization.
Can you give me some examples of solid
figures along with vertices, edges and face? “The student will volunteer”
D. Valuing.
Why do we need to know the vertices,
edges, and face or why we need to study the “The student will volunteer”
solid figures
E. Application.
Observe the following solid figures and
identify the shape and how many faces,
vertices and edges have and write the
answer on the sheet of paper.
1.
2. 1. Cylinder (2 faces, no vertices and
edges)
2. Rectangular prism (6 faces, 8
vertices and 12 edges)
3. Cube (6 faces, 8 vertices and 12
3. edges)
4. Triangular prism (5 faces, 6 vertices
and 9 edges
5. Sphere (no faces, edges and vertices)
4.
5.
IV. Evaluation.
What is your insight in knowing the vertices, edges and faces of solid figures?
V. Assignment
We will create figure using the solid figures that you will create and you bring the
