SUMMARY
Jharkhand has been adjudged as one of
the worst performer state in Niti
Aayog's Sustainable Devlopment Goals
(SDG) India Index for the second
consecutive year even as it improved its
scored by two points in 3 year (50 in
2018 , 53 in 2019, 56 in 2020)
Moreover, out of these 8 goals, which
scored less than 50, a decrease in scores
was found for 5 goals Jharkhand was in
"performer" category (with scores in
the range of 50-64) along with Bihar
(56), Assam(57),Arunachal
Pradesh(60),Meghalaya’s(60)
,Rajasthan(60).Uttar
Pradesh(60),chhattisgarh(61)
,NagaIand61) and Odisha (61).

Improvement of two points despite
the Covid -19 pandemic over the
last one year shows a positive sign
of efforts being made by the state
goverment.

GOOD HEALTH AND WELL-BEING
-NAYEE PIDHI SWASTHYA GUARANTEE
KARYAKRAM:
UNDER THIS SCHEME, MEDICAL CHECK-UP OF
CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENT GIRLS UPTO 18
YEARS OF AGE IS CONDUCTED, AND ALL
BENEFICIARIES ARE PROVIDED HEALTH CARDS.

GENDER EQUALITY
-MUKHYAMANTRI KANYA SURAKSHA YOJANA: IT
PROVIDES AN
INVESTMENT OF RS 2,000 TO ALL BPL GIRLS AT THE
TIME OF THEIR
BIRTH TO IMPROVE THE SEX RATIO, ENCOURAGE BIRTH
REGISTRATION
AND STOP FEMALE FOETICIDE. THE MATURITY
AMOUNT IS
RECEIVED AT THE AGE OF 18. IN 2017-18,
MORE THAN GIRLS BENEFITED FROM
THE PROGRAMME (GOVERNMENT OF BIHAR,
2018).

QUALITY EDUCATION
MUKHYAMANTRI BALIKA CYCLE YOJANA: THE
SCHEME OFFERS CASH TRANSFERS TO PROVIDE
BICYCLES FOR GIRL STUDENTS AND INCREASE
THEIR ENROLMENT AND ATTENDANCE.
-UKHYAMANTRI KANYA UTTHAN YOJANA: IT IS AN
INCENTIVEOBASED
SCHEME TO ENCOURAGE GIRLS TO COMPLETE
EDUCATION,
AND DELAY MARRIAGE. UNMARRIED GIRLS ARE PAID
RS 10,000
FOR COMPLETING THEIR INTERMEDIATE COURSE AND
AN AMOUNT OF RS 25,000 FOR COMPLETING
GRADUATION
