Multiple Linear Regression Assignment

The document summarizes a multiple linear regression analysis that was conducted to analyze the relationship between job stressors (interpersonal demands, emotional demands, workload) and job performance of office employees. The analysis found that emotional demands and workload were significant negative predictors of job performance, such that increases in emotional demands and workload led to decreases in job performance. Interpersonal demands did not significantly predict job performance. The regression model accounted for 63.9% of the variance in job performance.

Multiple Linear Regression Analysis

Problem:

The data was obtained from a group of office workers regarding the Job stressors impact on
their Job performance. After the data was collected, Multiple Linear Regression Analysis was
carried out.

1) Write a Hypothesis

Alternate Hypothesis

H1: Job Stressors of the office employees are likely to be the predictors of their Job performance
at work.

Null Hypothesis

H0: Job Stressors of the office employees are not likely to be the predictors of their Job
performance at work.

2) Construct a Table for Multiple Linear Regression Analysis as per APA.

Table 1.1

Multiple Linear Regression Analysis of the Job Stressors on the Job Performance of employees at
work (N=60)
Variables Job Performance 95% of Confidence Interval for B
β LB UB
Constant 10.917 15.464
Interpersonal Demands -1.42 -.603 -.118
Emotional Demand -.613*** -.534 -.044
Workload -.277** -.783 -.419
R2 .639
F 33.017
Note: L.B= lower bound; U.B= upper bound
**p<.01, ***p<.001.

3) Interpret the table.

The results of the Multiple Linear Regression Analysis showed that Assumption of the un

correlated errors/independence of residuals was found to be assumed as DW=1.92. Also, the

evidence showed that there was no multicollinearity in the data as tolerance value >.2. The

assumption of the homoscedasticity was found to be assumed as well. However, Assumption of

normality of residuals was found to be violated. Overall, the model accounted for 63.9% of

variance with F(3,56)=33.017, p<.05. The result showed that Emotional Demands of the office

employees was found to be significant and negative predictor of the Job performance at work as

β=-.613, p<.05 so, if the Emotional Demands of the employees will increase the job performance

will decrease at work. The result also showed that Workload of the office employees was also

found to be significant and negative predictor of the Job performance at work as β=-.277, p<.05 so,

if the Workload of the employees will increase the job performance will decrease at work as well.

However, the Interpersonal Demands of the office employees were found to be non-significant

predictor the Job Performance at work.

4) Attach the Output (Done)
