Prayer: Asato ma sadgamayaa

Shloka Translation

Asato maa sadgamayaa Lead me from falsehood to truth


Tamaso maa jyotir gamayaa Lead me from darkness to light
Mrityor maa amritam gamayaa Lead me from mortality to immortality
Om Shantih, Shantih, Shantih Peace, Peace, Peace

Prayer: Guru Brahma Guru Vishnu

Shloka Translation

Guru Brahmaa Guru Vishnu Guru is Brahma, Guru is Vishnu,


Guru Devo Maheshwara Guru is Shiva.
Guru Saakshaat Para Brahmaa Guru is the Ultimate God
Tasmai Shri Guruve namah Salutations to that Guru

Shloka Translation

Harir Daatha Harir Bhoktha Oh Lord Hari, You are the giver of food
Harir Annam Prajaapatih You are the enjoyer of food
Harir Vipra Shareerastu You are the food
Bhunkte Bhojayathe Harih To You I offer all the food that I consume.

Shloka Translation

Karaagre vasate Lakshmi Goddess Lakshmi resides on the tips of the fingers,
Karamadhye Saraswati Goddess Saraswati at the middle of the palm
Karamoole tu Govinda Lord Govinda at the base of the palm
Prabhaate karadarshanam It is auspicious to look at the hands as the day
begins

Shloka Translation

Namastestu Mahaamaye I bow down at Your Lotus Feet.


Shripeethe Surapoojite You are the destroyer of delusion and the source of
Shankha Chakra Gadhaahaste all prosperity
Mahālakshmi Namostute You are worshipped by all the Gods,
Holding in Your hands the conch shell, the discus
and the club
Oh, Mahalakshmi, I bow down to Thy Lotus Feet

Shloka Translation

Om bhur bhuvah suvah We praise the Supreme God, the Creator,


Tat savitur varenyam Whose divine light brightens our physical,
Bhargo devesya dheemahi mental and spiritual levels.
Dhiyo yo na prachodayaat May this divine light brighten our intellect

Shloka Translation

Om sahanaavavathu sahanau bhunaktu May we both together walk towards God


Saha veeryam haravavahai realization
Tejasvinaavadhi tamasthu May the Lord protect us both together
Maa vidhvishavahai May He nourish us both together
Om Shanti Shanti Shanti May we work together with great vigor
May our studies shine and be effective
May we not hate one another
Let there be peace, peace, peace

Shloka Translation
Omkaaram bindu samyuktam “Om” is the symbol of God who grants freedom.
Nityam dhyaayanti yoginah God can be reached by meditating on Om and the
Kaamadam mokshsadam chaiva Bindu (dot)
Omkaaraaya namo namah Om which is written with Chandra and Bindu.
As the Bindu is attached to the Om, we should
always attached to God

Prayer Translation

Om Sayeeshwaraaya vidmahe We realize that Sai is the Supreme Lord.


Sathya devaaya dheemahi We meditate on this God of Truth
Thannah sarvah prachodayaat We pray that He leads us to
Enlightenment

Shloka Translation

Saraswathi namastubhyam My humble prostrations unto Thee, O Goddess


Varde Kaamarupini Saraswathi,
Vidyaarambham You are the fulfiller of all my wishes,
karishyaami I start my studies, with the request that I
Siddhir bhavatu me sadaa achieve perfection in them.

Shloka Translation

Om sarva mangala maangalye Salutations to You O Narayani


Shive sarvaartha saadhike Who is Auspiciousness Herself
Sharanye triambhike gauri Complete with all the auspicious attributes
Narayani namosthuthe Who fulfills all the prayers of the devotees
Who is the giver of refuge
With three eyes and a shining face;

Sarve bhavantu sukhinaha May everyone be happy


Sarve santu niraamayaa May everyone be free from illness
Sarve bhadrani pashyantu May everything be auspicious
Maa kaschit dukha bhaagbhavet May no one suffer

Shloka Translation

Twameva Maata Cha Pitaa Twameva O Lord, You are my Mother, Father,
Twameva Bandhuscha Sakhaa Twameva Relative and Friend.
Twameva Vidyaa Dravinam Twameva You are my wealth and knowledge,
Twameva Sarvam Mama Deva Deva You are my everything
O God of Gods

Shloka Translation

Vakra tunda mahaakaaaya O Lord Ganesha, the Lord who has a curved trunk,
Suryakoti sampaprabha Who has a large body
Nirvighnam Kurume deva Whose brilliance is that of a million suns
Sarvakaaryeshu sarvadaa Lord I pray to thee to remove obstacles,
And to bless all my work
