CLEE works to advance pragmatic and creative policy solutions to critical environmental and energy challenges
facing the state of California and the country.

Research Fellow — Network for the Digital Economy and the Environment December 2021 – Current
• Designed and built the Network’s website (networkdee.org) using Wix.
• Developed and maintained the Network’s online content including project descriptions, publication
summaries, event descriptions, news, and announcements.
• Supported the NSF-funded Research Coordination Network with its engagement and communications
strategy, workshop planning, and website maintenance.
• Interviewed researchers focused on digitalization and environmental governance.
• Developed and maintained the Network’s social media properties and produced a monthly e-newsletter.
• Developed online tools for the research community, specifically a curated, searchable bibliography of
literature and a blockchain inventory.

Environment Department, City of Boston Boston, MA


The Department advances the Mayor’s vision of protecting the city’s air, water, energy, and land resources with a
focus on environmental justice and equity. The Department works to mitigate the worst impacts of climate change
while preparing Boston for some of the unavoidable impacts.

Outreach Coordinator — Community Choice Electricity (CCE) Program February 2020 – June 2021
• Led the City’s outreach, engagement, and communications strategy for the Community Choice Electricity
Program (CCE) and its 207,000+ customers.
• Coordinated 40+ language interpreters, consultants, and city staff to produce 11 multilingual webinars for
CCE, hosted and presented by me, with approximately 750 attendees.
• Led the City’s energy-focused consumer protection work, including six multilingual webinars, energy
literacy videos, and a mailing to 200,000+ residents.
• Produced multilingual outreach materials (i.e. factsheets, social media toolkits, videos, presentations,
newsletters, city-wide mailings) for the CCE Program and a related consumer protection issue.
• Built and managed over a dozen City of Boston websites using Drupal, viewed over 26,000 times.
• Led a CCE Working Group of local residents and advocates and grew the network of engaged stakeholders.
• Provided program assistance to CCE customers, including hosting virtual “office hours.”
Leadership Counsel for Justice & Accountability (LCJA) Fresno, CA
LCJA advocates at the local, regional, and statewide levels on issues of land use, transportation, and housing,
climate change and environmental justice, air and water quality, and government accountability.

Policy Coordinator — Climate Program December 2018 – May 2019


• Analyzed California’s new Community Air Protection Program and advocated to state and local regulators
on how best to improve equity and program implementation.
• Provided technical assistance to residents of disadvantaged communities to support their participation in
state air programs and to solicit feedback on program guidelines.
• Co-authored a report to grant funders regarding Sustainable Communities Strategies — a state-mandated
planning process that aligns transportation, housing, public health, and land use decision-making.
• Analyzed air quality policies, programs, and regulations such as air pollution reporting requirements,
emission reduction credit programs, and incentive programs for cleaner engines and equipment.
• Linked local and state advocacy strategies, worked in coalition with partner organizations, and forged
strong relationships with residents and government regulators.

Yale University New Haven, CT


Student Consultant January 2018 – May 2018
• Worked with a small team of law students to analyze 275 proceedings of the Federal Energy Regulatory
Commission (FERC) for conflicts of interest in the construction of natural gas pipelines.
• Co-authored a research memo used by the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) as part of their work
with the Sustainable FERC Project to spur FERC to reexamine its gas pipeline review process.

Asian Pacific Environmental Network (APEN) Oakland, CA


APEN is an environmental justice organization working toward a just transition through policy research, advocacy,
and community organizing. APEN serves Asian immigrants and refugees in Oakland and Richmond, California.

Graduate Intern — Policy & Advocacy May 2017 – August 2017


• Authored a report for advocacy and outreach that summarized the landscape of energy injustice in
California, explained the regulatory history, and promoted APEN’s energy justice work around targeting
renewable energy R&D funding to disadvantaged communities, prioritizing solar development on
multifamily affordable housing units, and improving outreach and marketing efforts to low-income
households.
• Produced an internal report on best practices and case studies to support APEN’s plans for a community-
owned solar project, intended to benefit their low-income membership base.
• Conducted research to shape APEN’s policy advocacy around community choice aggregation (CCA)
programs, which strive to lower energy costs, spur economic development, and reduce carbon
emissions.
