To Mr. Constante P. Quirino, our president, To Mrs. Sonia P.

Quirino, vice president for

administration, Dr. Eleanor G. Hilario, vice president for academic affairs, Dr. Jenny Pablo, Dean of
the Medical Technology department, faculty, parents, guests and of course our soon to be interns,
dear Ladies and Gentlemen: Good morning. It is a great pleasure for me to greet you here today.
First of all, let me introduce myself. Some of you already know me; some of you can only imagine
who this person is. Well, I used to be a student of CLDHEI and I graduated from this university 6
years ago. Those days I was like a duck to water within the walls of my alma mater. Today, I feel a
little bit like a bull in a china shop, but I hope you’ll understand my excitement for today’s event.

Today is a very special day to me, because exactly 7 years ago, I was concluded as a Medical
Technology intern and tasked to deliver a speech as the batch governor. I want to express my
deepest gratitude to this university which made me the person I am right now. I cannot underestimate
the role of CLDHEI in my formation as individual. It is here that I understood the value of academic
success and the importance of one’s skills development, CAPUT, COR and MANUS, where CLDHEI
is very well known of, CAPUT for the mind, COR for the heart and MANUS for the skills. These 3 core
foundations are honed in our stay in this institution and where CLDHEI graduates are well known of .
The university years were an essential part of my life: they taught me to be a social and sociable
individual who can speak the same language with different people.

Today, you will also be concluded as Medical Technology interns, it will be the start of another
journey. It where you can apply the different theoretical aspect of your profession as well as meeting
other people that will serve as a lesson and as well as inspiration.

I will not tell a story about my internship anymore, gusto ko na itatak ninyo sa mga sarili ninyo na may
kanya kanya tayong kwento. Kwento na maaring iba saakin, iba sainyo. Mas exciting sa akin o mas
exciting sainyo. Baka kasi mag expect kayo na makikita ninyo ang magiging lovelife ninyo sa
internship ninyo. You just have to become, mabait, masunurin at higit sa lahat, masipag.

Having in mind with this advice, I survived, learned a lot, made lifelong friends and had a meaningful
internship experience.

Bear in mind that internship should not be a common ground for competition, yes, a little is healthy
but it must not hinder to enjoy the internship journey. At this phase, you are already building
connections, interacting with patients, and get a glimpse of working in the real world.

As you embark your new journey, my last piece of advice is to enjoy everything that you do, make it
meaningful and be a good memoryto everyone.

I want all of you to dream and lead, soar high and always inspire others.

Thank you for this opportunity and may God bless everyone.
