ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

It gives me great satisfaction to successfully complete my portfolio under the guidance and
support of my professor. I take on the opportunity to offer my deep gratitude to my guide Mr.
Harjit Singh, a digital photography professor, at Chandigarh University, Gharuan. His
constructive criticism and creative inputs proved extremely valuable in this portfolio. I am also
very grateful to my friends, teacher, and family for their remarks and valuable assistance.
What is
photography?
Photography refers to the process or
practice of creating a photograph –
an image produced by the action of light
on a light-sensitive material.

A photograph can be either a positive or negative image.

Most photographs are created using a camera, which uses
a lens to focus an object’s visible wavelengths (the light
reflected or emitted from it) into a reproduction on a light-
sensitive surface of what the human eye would see.

The word photograph was

coined in 1839 by Sir John
Herschel and is based on
the Greek word ‘phos’,
meaning ‘light’, and
‘graphê’, meaning ‘drawing’
so ‘drawing with light.

Landscape photography is the art of capturing pictures of nature

and the outdoors in a way that brings your viewer into the scene.
This landscape was clicked in Dharamshala the Shiva Cafe, a very popular
spot. It serves authentic Tibetan cuisine, along with some munchies. The
walls are embellished with psychedelic artwork and Bob Marley posters
that will easily take you back into the hippie era. The breathtaking view is
worth the hike. the beauty captured my eyes and I clicked.

“I’ve realized that at the top of the mountain, there’s another

mountain.” – Andrew Garfield
The mountains are unique examples of beauty, peace, austerity,
spirituality, eco-yoga and creativity. The mountains are an extraordinary
environment of biological diversity, cultural diversity and linguistic
diversity. Standing firmly vertical, the mountains defy the gravity of the
Earth and peek out from the sky. capturing would look like this.
