DEFINITION OF HEALTHY EATING

 Healthy eating means eating a variety of foods that give you the nutrients
you need to maintain your health, feel good, and have energy. These
nutrients include protein, carbohydrates, fat, water, vitamins, and minerals.

IMPORTANCE OF HEALTHY EATING

 Why is Healthy Eating Important ?

 Healthy habits help prevent certain health conditions, such as heart


disease, stroke, and high blood pressure. If you take care of yourself, you
can keep your cholesterol and blood pressure within a safe range. This
keeps your blood flowing smoothly, decreasing your risk of cardiovascular
diseases.

● Five main Food Groups

● Carbohydrates - bread potato

● Protein - meat and fish

● Vitamins and mineral

● Calcium diary products

● Fats and Sugar


WHAT IS POOR DIETARY HABITS
 Poor eating habits include under- or over-eating, not having enough of the
healthy foods we need each day, or consuming too many types of food and drink,
which are low in fibre or high in fat, salt and/or sugar.

WHAT IS SEDENTARY LIFESTYLE

 A sedentary or inactive lifestyle. You have probably heard of all of these


phrases, and they mean the same thing: a lifestyle with a lot of sitting and
lying down, with very little to no exercise. In the United States and around
the world, people are spending more and more time doing sedentary
activities.

WHAT DOES PHYSICAL INACTIVITY CAUSES

 Increase risk of certain cancer


 Contribute to anxiety and depression
 Risk factor to certain cardiovascular disease and obesity
 Increase risks of having a Coronary heart disease and obesity
 Decrease in skeletal muscle mass due to excessive sitting
 High blood pressure and increase cholesterol level

WHAT ARE THE TYPE OF DISEASES ASSOCIATED WITH UNHEALTHY
