1) Kainat Batool completed a 6-week internship at Lucky Textile Mills from June 28th to August 15th where she worked in the design studio as a textile designer for bedding.
2) During the internship, she learned how to create storyboards, mood boards, rotary designs, repeat designs, and flatbed designs in Adobe Photoshop.
3) She also visited different departments at Lucky Textile Mills like separation, rotary machine, digital printing, screening, color kitchen, cutting, and packaging to understand the design to production process.

I, being the student of FASHION and TEXTILE DESIGN
in KSA and RLAK have taken efforts in this Summer Internship Program 2021. It wouldn’t have been possible without the kind support of many individuals including Mr. Faizan, Ms. Samar, Mr. Shahid Lakhani and Mr. Muttayyab especially. This report details a Summer Internship at Lucky Textile Mills
LTD in Landhi, KARACHI. I worked in the Design Studio as a Textile Designer (BEDDING) where I learnt and worked on multiple things related to Design in Photoshop. Also I had a short visit of the machinery systems at LTM 4 and 1 which includes Separation (CAD/CAM) department, Rotary Machine, Digital Printing Department, Zimmer Machine, Bleach Machine, Flatbed panel, Flatbed Machine, Screen Printing Machine, Screen exposing department, Color Kitchen, Stitching Department, Cutting Department, Packaging Department, Cutting and Folding Floor, ETP building (waste water consumption), ETP Processing Lab. DESCRIPTION OF THE INTERNSHIP The duration of my internship was 6 weeks. I got to know the aspects of design making process on Adobe Photoshop. Following are the adroitness which I have set my grip on:
STORY BOARD: History of Designs.
MOOD BOARD: Theme based board including Designs, Patterns, Textures and Shapes etc. ROTARY DESIGN: A color limitation design working on 2-12 colors. MANUAL WORK/DESIGN: It is being done on Cansen sheet and adjusted digitally on high resolution (300 pixels) enhancing the image by first scanning it then printed on the fabric. IMAGE SPECS: 1200 X 1360 pixels. 300 pixels. Image should be larger than 2 mb. REPEAT DESIGN: A motif that repeats without boundaries, without break or interruption. BG should be light with 7 to 10 colors only. TYPES OF REPEAT: Panel Design- No repeat Repeat Design- Repetition of motifs SIZE OF REPEAT: 16 X 16 cm 32 X 32 cm 64 X 64 cm 82 X 82 cm 91.4 X 91.4 cm HOW TO DO A PERFECT RESEARCH: Google Image Search any motif i.e. (Floral motif png) Tools Advanced search any size (larger than 4 mb). PHOTOSHOP: Photo editing, image creation and graphic design software. Width X Height: 32 cm Resolution: 254 or 300 pixels Removal of Background: Magic Eraser tool Antialiasing: A procedure used in digital graphics processing for smoothing lines and removing visual distortions. It should always be off. Contiguous: When enabled, the Contiguous option forces the Magic Wand Tool to select pixels that are directly connected together.
