At the end of a 50 minute period, the pupils will be able to:

a. recall details of the story


b. read high –frequency words with accuracy
c. recognize emotions of story characters
d. compare and contrast things based on their characteristic using a Venn diagram

B. Review
Before we proceed to our lesson for today, let us
have our review.

Here are sentences. If you think the sentence is a


reality raise the red flag, if it’s fantasy raise
the green flag.

1. There was dust on the computer that


needed to be wiped off.

3. The boys and girls went to the zoo for a

In the story that we read not only Maky is the


one who is happy but also friends, teachers and
parents.
Basketball and Baseball
At the beginning of our lesson I gave you games
right? I showed you the pictures of the
equipment of two kinds of sport.
What are they again?

Yes, both baseball and basketball are sports.


They use uniform, they also use ball but the
difference between the two are the other one
play inside the room I mean in the basketball
court while the other one is played outside the
room etc. Here is what we called compare and We compare the two sports
contrast.
What did we do?

Are you familiar with the words compare and

Ok, Comparing is finding the similarities
between two things
Examples:
Apple and Banana
both are fruits

is finding the differences between them.
