HOUSE RULES

Introduction to Criminal Law


A.Y. 2022-2023, 2nd Semester
Atty. Oliver Cachapero Jr

ONLINE CLASS (THURSDAYS)


-Official platform is Red Canvas. In case of technical issues, we use other online platform such as Zoom, etc.
-Roll call for attendance purposes is mandatory at the start of the class; roll call before the session is
adjourned maybe conducted
-Students who are not able to join the class because of poor internet connectivity or because of no electricity
must immediately report the same to the beadle for the information of the professor. The professor has the
discretion to mark the student absent or late
-All students should turn on their video during the whole duration of the class
-Audio should be muted except when asked to recite or talk or when questions or clarifications are needed
to be raised
-Graded recitation is to be conducted; short quiz may also be given regularly
-Recording of online classes is strictly prohibited
-The class may also be conducted asynchronously and an activity will be given in lieu of class recitation. The
output should be submitted via Red Canvas or thru email. Failure to submit the required output within the
given period shall merit a grade of 60

FACE TO FACE CLASS (MONDAYS)


-The traditional way of conducting classes
-Room Assignment is 34I

EXAMINATIONS
-There will be midterm and final examinations. The mode of taking the exam is not thru the traditional pen
and paper but it will be thru the use of the student’s laptop or any other equivalent gadget
-Said examinations will be taken face to face at San Beda Campus

ABSENCES
-Allowable number of absences is 3
-Students who will incur 4 absences will get a grade of Dropped Failed (DF)
-Excused absences are only limited to confinement in the hospital and school-sanctioned activities. To be
excused, proof of absence must be given to the professor not later than the following meeting
-Incentive for perfect attendance may be given. Those who have an absence/absences will not be considered
having a perfect attendance, even if excused

GRADES
-Midterm Grade is 60% Midterm Standing plus 40% Midterm Exam
-Final Grade is 60% Final Term Standing plus 40% Final Exam
-Final Grade is 50% Midterm Grade and 50% Final Term Grade
-Midterm/Final Term Standing consists of recitation, quizzes, and other activities given in lieu of recitation

BEADLE
-A class beadle shall be assigned
-All questions and concerns of the class should be coursed thru the class beadle
