Give yourselves again the hooray clap

B. Development of the Lesson

a. Motivation

So, class before we start our lesson. Let us

first sing a song that is connected to our topic
for today. The tune of our song is in the form
Muffin Man.

Lyrics

Oh, do you know the parts of plants, (students are singing along with the teachers)
The parts of plants, the parts of plants?
Do you know the parts of plants?
That make them grow and grow?

The roots, they hold the plant in place.

The plant in place, the plant in place.
The roots, they hold the plant in place
Soak up food and water, too.

The stem moves water up the plant,

Up the plant, up the plant.
The stem moves water up the plant
Brings water to the leaves.

The leaves soak up the rays of sun,

The rays of sun, the rays of sun.
The leaves soak up the rays of sun,
And help the plant make food.

The flower grows into a fruit,

Into a fruit, into a fruit.
The flower grows into a fruit,
Which holds the tiny seeds.

Now you know the parts of plants,

The parts of plants, the parts of plants. Now
you know the parts of plants,
That make them grow and grow.

b. Presentation

Children do you know what a plant looks

like? If you do, say aye and if you don’t say
nay.

At the count of three 1,2,3! (everybody shouts aye or nay)

Very good, it’s nice to know that some of you

are familiar what a plant looks like because
our topic for today is all about the different
parts of a plant.

c. Lesson Proper

For those who are not familiar with what a

plant looks like, here is an example. (shows a
picture of plant)

So, let us now study the different parts of a

plant. First are the roots, the root is found
under the ground. Roots are so strong that
they provide support for the plant. They also
look like a thick hair.
It’s color brown teacher.
So, class what do you think is the color of a
roots? Is it color brown or color black?
Correct! Very good!

Second part of a plant is the stem, the stem is

found above the ground. They come in
different lengths. They could be long or short.
Teacher it is color green!
So, what do you think is the color of a stem?
Is it color green or pink?

Correct again!

The third part of plant is the leaves. They are

typically green that grow from the stem. Green!
What is the color of a leaf again?

Fourth one is the flower, flowers are brightly

colored which the seed and fruit develops.
Flowers are the most beautiful part of a plant. (students answer the question in chorus. Some
students answer with yellow, red, pink, blue,
What do you think is the color of a flower? etc.)

All of your answers are correct because as I

said earlier flowers are brightly colored.
Which means they could be red or they could
be yellow. They could be blue or they could
be purple. They could be green or pink or
white. They could be every color you like.

Lastly, the fifth part of a plant is the fruit. The

fruit is a part of plant that has seed in it. They
(students answer in chorus again. Some says
come from different sizes and shapes.
orange, green, red, brown and many more)
So, what do you think is the color of a fruit?

All the answers are correct again! Good job

everyone it looks like everyone is now
familiar with the 5 different parts of a plant.

Let us thank the lord for providing us the

existence of plants that bears food for us like
the fruits and also the colorful flowers that we
all appreciate today.
