PROBLEM STATEMENT
Major problems that today's society and our surrounding are facings are listed
below, there are lot many problems that are to be addressed but the problem
that can be addressed and has to be solved as soon as possible are listed
below.

Pollution in multiple ways air pollution, water pollution, noise pollution etc.
Adolescent pregnancy, access to clean drinking water, child abuse and
neglect, crime, domestic violence, drug use, pollution, mismanagement of
resources, lack of funding for schools and services, ethnic conflict, health
disparities, HIV/ AIDS, hunger, inadequate emergency services, inequality,
jobs, lack of affordable housing, poverty, transportation, violence, racism and
police brutality.

I tried to solve some problems as an individual. The energy and time it took
was addressable but the results it showed was of great significance. As an
individual my opinion to the society is work in groups, work alone but your
little efforts to the goodness of the society will bring a drastic change in the
society as well as in the minds of the Neighbours and colleagues. Which will
further promote wellness of the nation and the world we live in.

The ways by which I helped the society in solving

problem are:
 Providing food to the stray animals.
 Plantation in public parks.
 Cleating up local parks.
CHAPTER 1: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Community programs can expand the opportunities for youth to acquire

personal and social assets and to experience the broad range of features of
positive developmental settings.

The activities I performed in the community service are Providing food to the
stray animals, Plantation in public parks, Cleating up local parks. The
activities are of great significance as they effected the surrounding a lot, it
also developed a mind set of “cleaning our surrounding, helping animals and
planting more and more trees” in the minds of the people who acknowledged
my work.

The first task I performed was cleaning the local park. In day to day use the
local parks get dirty because of the kids and the people using it. The major
problem of today's population is that they have become mean and self-
centred, I noticed this problem when I noticed the mess, we have created in
our surrounding (parks). The seats are dirty the park has more plastic
wrappers than grasses. As I started cleaning the park the people starting
noticing me asked why am I wasting my time on cleaning the local park, they
asked me put my efforts elsewhere but after a short conversation they got the
motive of my efforts. They appreciated me as well as they knew the
importance of keeping the surrounding clean.

The second activity I performed was planting trees and flower plants. The
local parkers suffer a lot of damage because of great amount of footfall of
different age group people. Mostly the young kids play and destroys the
plants in the parks. After lot of efforts even the Nagar Nigam is not able to
manage all the parks and their plants. So, I took a small step my at least
planting few plants in my arras local park for a change. I even taught the
kids to take care of the plants rather destroying them so that they can to
enjoy its beauty and benefits in the coming future.

The third activity I did was feeding the stray dogs. After the Covid19
pandemic the population has been self-conscious and self-concentrated. Very
less amount / percent of people is taking care of the stray animals. As the
stray dogs are mostly dependent on the food we provide them, many dogs
were starving when I tried to feed them. The ate a good amount of food, I got
to know their situation so I decided to serve them some of their desired food
daily for few days.
CHAPTER 2: OVERVIEW OF THE COMMUNITY
I surveyed a village named Vidyanagar . This village belongs to Kota mandal
Tirupati district. This village comprises nearly 100-150 inhabitants. The village
closely associated with farmlands. Hence almost all the people of the village are
dependent on Agriculture and Animal husbandry to lead their lives. So it is an
agricultural village. The village has good cultural heritage. Here all the people
are telugu speaking. People with different traditions and different tradition
harmoniously. All the people together celebrate rituals, functions and festival
harmoniously. Every one respects each other and follows humanitarian values.

Socio Economic Conditions:

 Paddy, Vegetables are mainly cultivated in farms by people.

 There is associated Animal farms with agriculture. Hence milk and

poultry products are bulkly produced.

 There is a wellness centre, government school with in the village.

 C.C Roads, pipelines. house to house tap connections are present.

 There are 2 temples 1 churches with in the village.

 There are toilets for every house.

 Most of the people in village are with own house and own farmlands.

 70% population of the village are uneducated.

CHAPTER 3: COMMUNITY SERVICE PART
The activities undertaken in the Community during the Community Service
Project are,
 Providing food to the stray animals.
 Plantation in public parks.
 Cleating up local parks.

This Community service project helped me to interact with the people of the
community to the core. With this interaction, I was able to study and acquire
knowledge regarding the following aspects of community
1. Known about local area it's past and present various problems
of socio economic conditions.
2. Known about the educational status of particular village and reasons of
their educational backwardness if any.
3. Known about economic background of the village and Families.
4. Known about transportation and communication facilities of village.
5. Known about population growth and their views and consciousness
regarding this.
6. Known about food habits, health and hygiene, traditions, customs and
ethics of the village.
7. Known about electricity and water supply of village.
8. Known attitude of parents towards education of their children.
Values I acquired through these activities
 Responsibility.
 People skills.
 Organization and planning.
 Problem identification, analysing, solving.
 Learning from mistakes.
 Looking for opportunities.
 Creativity and innovation, etc.
Activities Conducted
Clean up a local park
A park that is clean and well-maintained offers a safe and enjoyable place for
people to visit for hiking, Picnicking, sporting activities, or just relaxing.
Keeping parks clean can be every visitor’s job, which help contribute to a more
welcoming park atmosphere.

My experience

A clean place is more likely to give positive vibes. The neighbours really
appreciated my efforts. I felt happy after seeing the place clean. It gave me
great feeling, I also felt proud. The surrounding was cleaner and gave a more
pleasing vibe. The ground was now more appealing. Once the complete park
was cleaned it looked a different pleasing view in itself. The elders
appreciated me for my work and asked me if I can help them in future to
clean the park.
Planting flowers in public area

Planting flowers is very important establishing natural beauty in today’s

world most of the people can never understand the importance because of
busy schedule but flowers are great source of food to insects and birds
indirectly it affects humans as well because flowers can be used as medicines
too.

Problem faced during planting flowers

No one was bothering how the area looked they were so busy in their work
that they not even noticed the newly planted flowers, few of them were
destroyed within hours.

My experience

The place was ugly before the flowers were planted. Small things can change
look of an area. More greenery more, breath taking the location feels.
Planting few flowers helps the place keep cleaner, as no one wants to destroy
a beautiful looking area. No one spit or throw garbage near a beautiful
flowered plant.
Feed Food to the Animals
My Experience toward this activity (Key learning by doing this activity)
The numbers of animals are extinction due to which the cycle of nature is
misbalanced. For this, I took a step forward & start caring, feed food to the
animals so that they can live for a longer life. The dogs are human best friends
but after the Covid19 pandemic everyone is busy in their own lives and are not
caring about the society and the stray animals. The dogs are starving and are
dying because of it. When I went forward to help them their eyes showed the
need of the food which I provided them. I continued feed them for at least 5
days until they were back on track and ready to find their own food.

CHAPTER 5: OUTCOMES DESCRIPTION
Details of the Socio-Economic Survey of the Village/Habitation. Attach the
questionnaire prepared for the survey.
Describe the problems you have identified in the community
Short-term and long term action plan for possible solutions for the problems
identified and that could be recommended to the concerned authorities for
implementation.
Description of the Community awareness programme/s conducted w.r.t the
problems and their outcomes.
Report of the mini-project work done in the related subject w.r.t the
habitation/village.
Community service, also known as volunteer work or public service, refers to
any type of work that is intended to benefit the local community. It can take
many forms, such as cleaning up parks, working with children or the elderly, or
helping to rebuild homes after a natural disaster. Community service is often
associated with youth, as many schools require students to complete a certain
number of hours of community service as a graduation requirement. However,
people of all ages can participate in community service, and it can be a valuable
and rewarding experience for both the community and the individuals who
participate.

One of the primary benefits of community service is that it allows individuals to

give back to their community. This can be a deeply fulfilling experience, as it
allows people to make a tangible difference in the lives of others. Additionally,
community service can help to build a sense of community and civic
engagement. When people work together to achieve a common goal, they often
feel more connected to one another and more invested in their community.

Community service can also be a great way to gain valuable skills and
experience. Many community service opportunities involve working with others,
and this can help individuals to develop teamwork and communication skills.
Additionally, many community service opportunities involve working with
specific populations, such as children or the elderly, and this can help
individuals to develop specialized skills that can be useful in future career or
volunteer opportunities. For example, working with children in a community
service setting can provide individuals with experience in child development
and education, which can be valuable in careers such as teaching or social
work. Similarly, working with the elderly in a community service setting can
provide individuals with experience in gerontology, which can be valuable in
careers such as nursing or geriatric care.

Another important benefit of community service is that it can help to address

social problems. Many communities face a wide range of social problems, such
as poverty, crime, and environmental degradation. Community service can help
to address these problems by providing direct services to those in need, as well
as by raising awareness and support for these issues. For example, community
service organizations that focus on poverty reduction may provide food and
clothing to low-income families, as well as offer job training and financial
literacy programs. Similarly, community service organizations that focus on
environmental conservation may organize clean-up campaigns, or offer
education and outreach programs to promote sustainable practices.

Additionally, community service can be an effective tool for promoting diversity

and inclusion. By participating in community service, individuals from different
backgrounds and perspectives come together to work towards a common goal.
This can help to break down stereotypes and biases, and promote greater
understanding and acceptance of diversity. Community service can also provide
opportunities for underrepresented groups to have their voices heard and to
play an active role in shaping the community.

However, community service also has some challenges, such as lack of funding,
lack of volunteers, and lack of resources. Funding for community service
organizations is often limited, and this can make it difficult to provide the
necessary resources to support the programs and services that are offered.
Additionally, it can be difficult to recruit and retain volunteers, especially for
long-term projects. This can be especially challenging for community service
organizations that focus on issues that are not glamorous or well-publicized,
such as poverty reduction or environmental conservation. Finally, community
service can be physically and emotionally demanding. Many volunteer roles
involve working with people who are suffering from poverty, illness, or other
problems, and this can be difficult and stressful.

Despite these challenges, community service remains an important and

valuable activity. It can help to build stronger, more resilient communities, and
it can provide individuals with the opportunity to make a meaningful difference
in the lives of others. To ensure that community service is as effective as
possible, it is important to ensure that community service is as effective as
possible, it is important to ensure that community service organizations are
well-funded and well-organized, and that volunteers are well-trained and
supported.

In conclusion, community service is a vital part of building a strong and vibrant

community. It has numerous benefits, such as providing individuals with the
opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of others, building a sense
of community and civic engagement, and providing opportunities for individuals
to gain valuable skills and experience. Despite the challenges faced by
community service, it remains an important and valuable activity that can help
to build stronger, more resilient communities.
CHAPTER 6: RECOMMENDATIONS AND CONCLUSIONS OF THE MINI PROJECT

I had definitely learned how to be more patient and be more

productive. The journey from the right beginning that is deciding how can I
help the community / society to be a better place, what activities will be well
suited to my surrounding keep all the facts in mind I figured out few
activities, that were Providing food to the stray animals, Plantation in public
parks, Cleating up local parks.

Each activity had its challenges and impressive outcome. The satisfaction
the activity providing me were at different level. Helping out society truly set
a different mindset. The day I started the project, it changed my view
towards the society, the stray dogs and cleaning the society or society.
Seeing the park clean and tidy after I finished my work gave me great felling.
I planted flowery plants which gave the public park a different look.

Apart from the parks and plantation, I feed the stray dogs. Now I have many
more friends in my society. The condition of stray dogs is very vulnerable
now a days. I am trying to help as much animals I can. I used to feed the
stray dogs before also as they are one of my favourite animals.

I am looking forward to help the society in as many ways as possible. As we

know small changes make a huge difference. I will even promote the idea of
community service as a general responsibility for all.
