2.1 Company Background and Purpose
Annerose Barcelon, Chlouie Dane Nuyda, Denise Joyce Jacela and Iya Gwyneth
Garcia are all aspiring entrepreneurs and grouped together to brainstorm a product that
provides unique designs as well as the durability of the product. With that, we have
decided to come up with the environmental products since the Philippines, our major
problem is the pollution. So, we named our environmental shop Botanica because in
science "Botany" is the study of plants wherein our main goal is to save plants as well
as the environment and we added "Ica" because in Greek it means light wherein our
shop serve as a light and represent as a good role model to all shops that we need to
consider environment when it comes in establishing a business. The products that we
have were made with pure passion and dedicated hard work. The purpose of Botanica
is to avoid the cause of pollution, save the environment and restore the cleaner
environment that everybody is longing for.

Chapter 3
PRODUCT AND SERVICE OFFERING
3.1 Describe the product or service and the problem it is solving
Pollution is one of the major problems in one's country specifically in the Philippines due
to a lack of knowledge in recycling and the usage of plastics. The presence of pollution
which caused by plastics is an actual hindrance wherein we can't fulfill our desire goals
to have a clean and safe environment.
In order to solve this problem, our business is selling an eco-bags and facemask that is
totally helpful to the environment especially the existence of virus that is being spread
all over the world. Using the products that we have, it improves the quality of life to
avoid diseases, illnesses and etc. We also want to ensure the safeness of the families
and every people in the world. Our business purpose is to serve a good quality of the
products that we have and influence other people to have knowledge in recycling.
3.2 List of current alternatives
Since our product is about lessening the usage of plastics and to resolve the problem
within the pollution, we also consider some competitors that has the same product of
ours, it is called direct competitors, so in order for us to be unique, we decided to
innovate the products by being observative, making a survey and most importantly
brainstorming by the staffs. Our business provides excellence of the quality and
services that can satisfy the needs and wants of our target market. Plus, when it comes
to pricing, we make sure that it's really affordable and suitable for our desired product.
3.3 Competitive Advantage
Another thing is that, in spite of the pandemic that is currently happening in the
Philippines, our priorities are to ensure the safeness and the health of our employees
and staffs, as for that, we make sure that before we receive and collect some materials
that will going to use for producing our products, we make sure that it is sanitize and
well cleaned.
7
Chapter 4
COMPETITIVE AND MARKET ANALYSIS
4.1 Estimated size of the Market
In Laguna, there are about 150 stores or more, that sells eco-friendly products. Botanica
conducted research, that in Cabuyao's Retail Plaza, which is our location where the
customers find our business, The estimated market size of ours are around 500 to 1000
because since our business is just only starters, we think that customers might not be
familiar in our business, on the contrary, as we observe to our chosen location, we
noticed that most of the customers are looking for cheap prices so, we assumed that, as
time goes by, people will love and will buy our product.
4.2 Target Market Segment
Botanica’s Target Market are the students, adolescence and people who loves
recyclable products. Since the product of ours were affordable and very durable, it is
perfect for them to use at school, groceries, offices and etc. Products were created
aesthetically and accurately fitted to the sense of style of our potential customers
especially to the new generations. These kinds of products are trending in today's
fashions, and most people want to run their errands with a style which made them more
motivated and feeling good every day. Our target market here are grouped by age (15 -
50 years old), exact in generation (Generation X, Millennials, Generation Z), people's
lifestyle, their styles like aesthetic and elegant, also, perfect for the season, the period of
the year, (Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter), along with the location that has a lot of
people to target with our business.
4.3 Outline How Offerings Provides Solutions to Segments
Since the Botanica is about environmentally friendly products, it will be a win-win
situation for the problem and the health of people wherein if we sell our recyclable
products and we influence people, (have ideas that old clothes can be used as a new
product) it will be a benefit to the environment by having a healthy community with
knowledgeable people.
Unfortunately, due to Enhanced Community Quarantine that is brought by COVID-19,
we experienced a pervasive obstacle; the sales and the number of potential customers
might decrease as we establish our business, so in order to resolve that, we came with
the idea that we sell of our products through online wherein most of us are into social
media. With the help of that, we believed that it will help our sales to improve and
increased. Our business offering the needs and wants of the people and to those folks
8
who have an interest, curiosity in our products. We focused on their hobbies, lifestyles,
their aesthetics, and in their character traits.
4.4 Estimate the number of units of your product or service target buyers might
purchase, and how the market might be affected by external changes (e.g.,
economic, political)
Botanica business will be an open with products of eco bags and facemasks. Our
estimated number of units of our product that will be released is around 500 pieces of
eco bags and 100 boxes of facemasks because since we are just starters in business,
we need to take the consideration that in our first day our products might not be well
known due to its new existing of business in a certain market place. Our products help
the society and economy by decreasing the number of people who are still using
plastics everywhere, especially facemasks for the virus because other people are
continuously throwing their surgical or disposable facemasks everywhere. So, by the
use of our products we can be able to promote some alternatives in using plastics and
surgical or disposable facemasks.
4.5 Describe the Projected Volume and Value of sales compared to competitors
Botanica will look forward to introduce unique products that serves as an alternative
from plastics and came from recycled materials compared to other competitors that their
products is contaminated by harmful materials. We also aim to be well known in the
world with the help of our eco-friendly products.
4.6 The differences of Botanica from our competitors
Botanica is a company that creates products eco bags and facemasks. The business
possesses various edges against its competitors, such as uniqueness, quality, and cost-
friendliness. Botanica will be focus on their goals which is to offer a service that came
from recycled materials that will serves as a benefit to each people in the community or
much better in the whole country, we are different in terms of our items and on how we
will manufacture them. Another strength is the unique quality of the products. The
materials we used to create our products are also from the people who donated some of
their old clothes, some old clothes are bought in thrift shop and some of the facemasks
are made from abaca.
Our competitors mainly target students. So, we decided that our product is open for all
people who are interested in eco-friendly product including also the students. Our
business, Botanica, is all about eco-friendly. The difference between us and other
competitors, we have a strategy to provide things that people might need, not only
people but also to our environment. Speaking of eco-friendly, we have products, face
masks and eco-bags, perfect nowadays.
9
Chapter 5
SALES AND MARKETING PLAN
5.1 Describe the Pricing Strategy for Offerings
Since our products materials are old clothes, it is much cheaper than the actual
products which our alternative came from, we can offer customized design of an eco-
bag which will have additional payment for the effort and of course, the materials that
will be used. Aside from that, the pricing strategy that we have, will be based by
calculating the costs an instance for that is how much costs will it took if we produce our
product as well as the business market place.
5.2 List Various Methods (Marketing Channel)
Botanica is very open about technology innovations and sites that are presently
available through online. We can be able to message or interact with them through
Facebook, we will also launch a page that will serve as our platform to introduce our
product and ask our friends or relatives to share it on their timeline so that others would
have a chance to see our products, we can also use Tiktok since a lot of small business
owner also use this platform to introduce their product. Plus, Shopee and Lazada can
be a great platform to promote our product. The various methods that we will use to get
our message to prospects (marketing channel) are advertising our product by posting
on social media which is the easiest nowadays and because of that, people might be
pay their attention to our products, and it because it is new normal, people nowadays
focused on social media, on technologies.
5.3 Details of the Market Materials (an approximate budget)
Since Botanica is very open about a lot of platforms to use like social media, we wanted
to take this opportunity to introduce our product easier, A lot of people are now
influenced by the social media especially Facebook, we will take this site to deliver our
message to others and of course, to introduce our product by posting and sharing,
creating pages is also free and we would create one so we only have to post on a
specific page, our total budget is Php 20,000 as a small business starter our first goal is
to start in small products and as it grows, we would love to add more products and
improve our services. The market material that we will use to promote our product is by
posting on social media, by using hashtags in our promotion posts. We will use
Facebook or Tiktok, and Instagram to spread to people our new products, numerous
people are using these media nowadays so it will be better to post our products
10
5.4 Describe How will Distribute the Offerings to others.
We can be able to distribute our products through meet up if they’re close enough to our
location or delivery depends on their request, we can schedule a meet up with the
certain place or we can deliver our products directly to them with the help of LBC, JNT
and other companies that they would like their order to be delivered.

Chapter 7
Operating Plan
7.1 Describe the physical location(s) of your business
Our Botanica business is located in Cabuyao's Retail Plaza. The City of Cabuyao's
Retail Plaza contains a lot of thrift stores, which is essential for us because we require
retailers that are close to us, especially since our items specifically eco bags are
manufactured from old clothes. We’ve chosen this location because it is one of the most
popular places to buy products especially those people who are in a budget so, we
would like to take its advantage for us to sell our products.
7.2 Detail any additional physical requirements
Our team have decided to rent a warehouse in Birmingham Village Laguna, where there
is a warehouse available for rent at a reasonable price. We believe that it would be
perfect for us to rent since we are only new in having a business. The location is
suitable for storing the products and materials required for the production of an eco-bag
and facemask, particularly if we need other sources or products for our business.
7.3 Describe the Production workflow
14
7.4 Describe materials needed to produce your product and service, and how you
plan to source them.
When making the products we currently have, which are the eco bag and facemask, we
must consider the materials we require and how we plan to acquire them. We'll need old
clothes from thrift store or donated clothes, as well as a sewing machine and abaca
fiber. The materials for the eco bags came from a thrift store and donated old clothes,
while the materials for the mask came from an online store named PUNLA PROJECT
that sells a variety of fabrics, fibers, seeds, and other items.
