DESIGN CRITERIA

AG131TR1104D‐P4 Page 4 of 126

1.1 Basic Data

 Design Loads on Imperial Avenue

Wind Load

Design wind loads were computed using Eurocode 1: Actions on Structures - Part 1-4: General Actions –
Wind Actions.

The site condition shall be assumed to be as follows (50-year return period Wind Speed)

 3 sec gust wind speed , Vsec=45 m/s

Design Wind Pressure:

Stick Curtain Wall (Level 26 & 27)

 qpressure = +2.0kPa (Positive Wind Pressure – Refer to appended reference)
 qsuction = -2.0kPa (Negative Wind Pressure – Refer to appended reference)

NOTE: A negative value indicates a load acting outwards from measurement location (causes suction)
while a positive value indicates a load acting inwards.

Dead Load

Dead load due to self-weight of components was considered in the analysis.

 Mechanical Properties of Materials

The following is a summary of the properties of materials, structural performance, and serviceability
requirements.

Properties of Glass
(Based on ASTM E 1300 – 12a: Determining the Load Resistance of Glass I Buildings)

Proof Strength fo = 160 MPa
Ultimate Strength fu = 195 MPa
Shear Strength fv = fo /√3 MPa
fv = 92.38 MPa
Unit Mass ρa = 2700 kg/m3

AG131TR1104D‐P4 Page 5 of 126
