Work in small groups and discuss the questions. Be ready to tell the rest of
the class some of the ideas and opinions you came up with.

1. What makes a good employee?


2. How should staff’s performance be evaluated? Does this depend on the
nature of the job? Think about the following professions, sales person, teacher,
police officer, and human resources officer.
3. How is your performance evaluated where you work/study? Do you think this
is a fair system? What would you change?
4. What different ways are there of rewarding good performance?
5. How should poor performance be dealt with?

the other person being managed). You will receive role-cards, please read
through the information.

The meeting will be based on this information, but try to add some of your own
ideas as much as you can.
