Highlight the importance of the scheme Swayam siddha I and II of BPA by bringing about all the
important features of the scheme in your write-up. Also give your views on how such micro credit
programs are able to do their bit in Indian Economy

Swayam Siddha Pariyogana (I) was established to help blind women become self-sufficient via social,
financial, and cultural rehabilitation. The main purpose of this project was to empower blind women
by instilling in them essential entrepreneurial skills that will help them succeed in the future. Make
them self-sufficient. In most villages, it was customary to use the native currency. These blind
women and their families would turn to a lender for a few small loans. where the strange creditor
would charge the unlucky borrower an outrageous sum of interest someplace at a rate of 2% per
month.

This Swayam Siddha Pariyojana(I) aims to provide loans to women with vision problems and
blindness for the following uses.

I to provide initial as well as capital investments and essential guidance in order to

start/expand/develop/make sustainable any business or economic activity.

ii) To encourage people to pursue entrepreneurial and management training.

iii) To support blind women to pursue further education, academic, technical, and/or vocational
education.

iv) To promote the development of different talents in blind women in order to increase their
capacity.

v) To encourage and support their artistic, performing, and craft abilities.

vi) To support and encourage any action that improves their presence in the workforce and self-
employment, with the goal of transforming them into self-sufficient individuals.

vii) To assist them in restoring, renovating, and preserving the conditions and amenities of their
residence.

viii) To cover the costs of a mentor in the development of a specific skill in any profession or
technological activity, or

ix) To support in any operation that contributes to economic, technical, sociological, and cultural
rehabilitation and inclusion in society, including coach expenditures for sports at the abilympics.

The next step: SwayamSiddha Pariyojana –II

The main characteristics of this 2 scheme are similar to those of the first. The Adhoc Management
Committee prepared the proposal. It is proposed that this be done in collaboration with Vocational
Counseling Schools that serve blind people and can assist in identifying blind women who are
interested in microcredits. Additionally, short - term training programs on "Entrepreneurial and
particular skills" are proposed. In summary, the focus will be on removing the barriers that currently
stand in the path of blind women who want to become self-sufficient.

The overall goals are nearly identical to those of SSP-I.

i. These are designed to help blind women become self-sufficient and useful members of
society.
ii. To encourage and ensure the socio-economic rehabilitation of needy and worthy blind
women in order to reintegrate them into society.
iii. Supporting the training and education endeavours of blind women trying to pursue or
seeking employment by improving their academic - vocational skills, as well as those
pursuing or trying to seek self-employment by offering them with necessary assistance and
inputs to build, raise, and fortify their ability to generate income.
iv. To conduct and support processes such as surveys to pinpoint blind and disabled women,
basic managerial and entrepreneurial training, professional and technical tutoring for jobs or
self-employment, higher ed, medical services through  orthotic, prosthetic and other
assistive technologies, and cultural and sports activities promotion.
v. To assist them in enhancing theirconditions by providing supplies for modifying and
maintaining their current housing facilities.
vi. To encourage, participate in, and support all actions that guarantee or plan to improve the
lives.

According to me such micro credit program will be helpful for Indian economy through various ways

i. Women would be encouraged to set up groups based on their socioeconomic level and
perceived needs, which they will then network with.
ii. Participants/facilitators include government and panchayat authorities holders.
iii. The initiative would be implemented at the block level by both govt agencies and NGOs, as
well as district/intermediate levels panchayat institutions.
iv. Women members, which would include ex-officio women members, shall be elected as
office holders of IWEP societies.
