METHODIST YOUTH FELLOWSHIP, ACCRA DIOCESE
DIOCESAN CHAIRMAN’S ADDRESS TO 2023 CIRCUIT CONFERENCES
I bring you warm felicitations from the Accra Diocesan Secretariat and on my own behalf to
your Circuit Conference. I am particularly grateful as this is the first conference I am
addressing as your Diocesan Chairman. We thank God for life and pray for more years ahead.
2023 is another important year in the life of the Methodist Youth Fellowship, being a
Conference Year at all levels of the Fellowship. I therefore trust that we take the opportunity
to reflect, strategize and redirect our course as well as set a new agenda towards the revival,
transformation and growth of the MYF and Church in general.
Let us begin by acknowledging the faithfulness of our Father who has protected us as a
Fellowship and individuals since we last assembled at a conference. It has not been an easy
journey with its own challenges, trials and interesting moments in our lives;
“But out of all, the Lord hath brought us by His Love.
And still He doth his help afford, and hides our life above”
MHB 709 vrs 4
Our conference theme, ‘Discipleship: Living the Transformed Life in Jesus Christ’ speaks for
itself. May we during this conference and beyond, portray ourselves and our lives as that
which is truly transformed by the renewal of our minds and in our thoughts, words and
deeds. By this, all men and women, old and young, believers and unbelievers alike, will know
and testify that we are indeed Jesus Christ’s disciples.
As we are all aware, Evangelism is the lifeline and blood of our Fellowship and the principles
on which the organization was built. Over the last seven years, the Diocese, with the support
of the various Circuits and Branches, has aided us realize this vision of reaching out with the
gospel to the world through our flagship programme - Easter With The Lord (EWTL). The
support from you all have been overwhelming and we really appreciate it. We however,
continue to pray for more support through the “Branch Offering” and “Donate Your Lunch”
campaigns to help realize the ever-growing cost of organizing the EWTL Outreach.
That notwithstanding, Circuits and Branch Fellowships are encouraged to also organize local
outreaches in complementing the evangelism drive of the Diocese and the Wesleyan Revivals
being organized by the Bishop’s office through the Diocesan EMR to grow our respective
Circuits and Societies.
As a Diocesan MYF, we plan to purchase a parcel of land at an estimated cost of Fifty
Thousand Ghana Cedis (Ghs 50,000) in the New Aplaku mission area for at least one of the
newly planted churches as a legacy project to complement the efforts of the Church. This can
be achieved if we put our shoulders to the cart and work together. In view of this, I appeal
Page | 6
to us to try to, as part of this conference, donate an amount to the Diocesan MYF Evangelism
Fund towards the realization of this vision. May God touch our hearts to do so and bless us
abundantly as we obey the call.
Conferences should not only be talk-shops where we read and criticize reports. They should
be avenues to develop ourselves, to strengthen the Fellowship and to come out with
S.M.A.R.T. goals in realizing the mission and vision of the Church. It is to this end that the
Diocesan Secretariat, at our DEC meetings, has initiated a practice to sharpen our expertise
as officers and youth leaders by organizing regular Training and Capacity-Building Sessions.
Let us patronize and learn from these sessions as they will help us grow mentally and
spiritually.
In the same vein, Youth Empowerment is equally critical to the growth of the church as its
backbone. Let us in our reports to the various levels of the church highlight and stress the
need to develop the human resource of the youth in order to grow the church. I therefore
encourage us to fully participate in the database building and management drive of the
Connexional MYF as it will help us know our members well. The Diocesan Secretariat will
also do its part in developing the capacity of you our members as we plan to organize regular
Youth Empowerment Summits, Small-Scale Business Development Programmes, Career
guidance workshops and Professional database management of our members.
In conclusion, I challenge us all to reiterate the relevance of the MYF in our various Societies
and Circuits, especially at a time when the strategic plan of the church – Agenda for Revival,
Transformation & Growth – is being implemented. Let us entrench our positions as the
backbone by wholeheartedly and voluntarily taking up the mantle of responsibility and
moving the church forward. This is our church. Not in the future, but in the present – NOW!
This is the time, No more delay;
This is the Lord’s accepted Day
Come in this moment, at His call
And [let us] live for Him who died for all [of us].
MHB 323 vrs. 5
I wish you fruitful, Holy Spirit-filled and Holy Spirit-led deliberations during this conference.
May the Lord be with you all.
We! – ONE!!!

CIRCUIT CHAIRMAN’S ADDRESS
Brethren indeed we owe the Almighty God a great debt of gratitude for protecting and
guiding Bubiashie Circuit MYF all these years of fruitful and productive existence.
The theme of the church for 2023 which is automatically the theme of our 3rd Biennial
Conference “Discipleship – Living the transformed life in Jesus Christ (Rom 8:1-2) dovetails
into the motto of our dear fellowship: We: As the youth of the church much is expected of us
to lead the way for others to follow. Transformation of our lives and hearts are necessary
requisites for this leadership role that all and sundry expect us to play.
Leadership at all levels of Youth fellowship should know that the youth and the Methodist
Church have all been entrusted under our care as part of our Youth Ministry. It therefore a
on us to use this transformed life as a discipleship tool to rope the youth into the fellowship
and into the church as a whole.
Indeed, you are on the right path, but there is more to be done since we are the backbone of
the church. There is a lot of room for improvement and the sky should be the limit.
It is my prayer and hope that we will passionately review the goals in the past year and take
critical decisions moving forward, in order to put the Fellowship on the next level.
May the good Lord help us to play our role in the Youth ministry, to help grow the Methodist
Church Ghana, we all cherish.
Therefore, do not sit on the fence, get involved and get committed to the course of Christ.

GOODWILL MESSAGE
On behalf of Bubiashie Circuit Secretariat, I bring you warm Christian greetings on the
occasion of your 3rd Biennial Delegate Conference.
The theme for the conference “Living the Transformed life in Jesus Christ” (Romans 12:1-
2) is relevant and would be beneficial only if members would practically demonstrate the
transformed life, “I beseech you therefore brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye
present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God. Which is your reasonable
service.”
We!! One!!
Finally, let us all be circumspect especially when discussing issues on the social media.
The enemy has recruited a lot of agents who are propagating blasphemous ideas i.e.,
LGBTQ and others.
Let us be vigilant!
We!! One!!

GOODWILL MESSAGE FROM BRO GODWIN YAWSON (CYC)
I congratulate you on the occasion of your 3rd Biennial delegates conference as Disciples,
living the transformed life in Jesus Christ. I would challenge you to intensify your efforts to
disciple, everyone within and outside the church and win them to Christ.
Brothers and sisters in Christ, I would like to encourage us that as young Christians seeking
to follow Christ and be like him, we should make sure we take the study of the bible very
seriously, be prayerful and also apply bible principles to our everyday life activities. I also
look forward to seeing the youth fellowship in the Bubiashie circuit playing more active role
in the church’s evangelism outreach since the fellowship’s motto say’s “we work, we witness
and we worship.”
There is also the need to develop the capacity of the youth to enable them take up various
positions in the church. I remember, the youth fellowship has usually been described some
year’s ago as a sleeping giant and when awakened can become a mighty force for affecting
the life and ministry of the church, however, the youth fellowship is now a force to reckon
with.
Finally, I would like us all, to reflect on one of my favorite bible verses 1 Peter 4:10 “Each
one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others faithfully administering
God’s grace in its various forms”
I pray this 3rd Biennial Delegates conference of the Bubiashie Circuit MYF will be a forum for
fruitful deliberations that will move the spiritual, social and educational life of the entire
young people positively. Ayekoo

GOODWILL MESSAGE FROM THE BUBIASHIE CIRCUIT CHOIR CHAIRMAN ON THE
OCCASION OF YOUR 3RD BIENNIAL CONFERENCE
As we gather today, I want to take a moment to extend my warmest wishes to each and every
one of you. Our church is not just a building, but a community of people who come together
to share in our faith, our joys, and our sorrows.
In these challenging times, it is more important than ever to come together as a community
to support and encourage one another. I am grateful for each and every one of you and the
love and compassion that you bring to our church.
As we continue to navigate the uncertainties of the world, let us hold on to our faith and our
hope for a brighter future. Let us continue to uplift and inspire one another with our words
and actions.
May we continue to grow in love and faith, and may our church community continue to be a
beacon of hope and light in the world.
With warm regards,
I bring you warm greetings from our Lord Jesus Christ and from the Circuit Women’s
Fellowship. We give thanks to the Almighty God for how far He has brough the Fellowship
and the opportunity to take stock of your past activities and to re-strategize and plan for the
times ahead.
The theme of the Conference “Living the transformed life in Jesus Christ” should remind
us to live as Christ lived. Our lives should be a light to the people we come into contact with
in order to bring more people to the Fellowship and the Church. We need to do away with
unchristian living and let us live lives that are worthy of the Blood that was shed for us.
We congratulate you for your service to the Circuit and Church. We wish you fruitful
deliberations and trust that your plans for the future will affect every part of the life of the
Church.
We! One.

led the opening prayer and exhorted us, based Psalm 27:3-4. It speaks on David’s
desire to dwell in God’s house and encourages to yearn same for ourselves. The
speaker emphasised that one should always begin a relationship with a born again
Christian (1 Corinthians 2:14) who has become established in the faith. Whoever is
getting married should not be a “baby Christian” and must be a matured man or
woman. He also mentioned the essence of trust between couples. He final encouraged
