4. FIRST AID MEASURES

INHALATION If inhaled, remove of fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial


respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Get medical attention
immediately.
EYE In case of contact, immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at
least 15 minutes. Get medical attention immediately.
SKIN In case of contact, immediately flush skin with plenty of water for at
least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes.
Wash clothing before reuse. Thoroughly clean shoes before reuse.
Get medical attention immediately.
INGESTION Induce vomiting after drinking plenty of water, and seek medical
attention immediately.
NOTE TO PHYSICIAN Ethylene Glycol (EG) intoxication may initially produce behavioral
changes, drowsiness, vomiting, diarrhea, thirst, and convulsions.
EG are nephrotoxic. End stages of poisoning may include renal
damage or failure with acidosis. Supportive measures, supplemented
with hemodialysis if indicated, may limit the progression and severity
of toxic effects. For ETHYLENE GLYCOL POISONING, intravenous
ethanol is a recognized antidotal treatment; other antidotal treatments
also exist for ethylene glycol poisoning.

SPILL MAMAGEMENT Flush area with water to remove trace residue; place flush solution
in proper container for recycle or disposal. Shut off source of leak
if safe to do so. Dike and contain spill.

personnel away. Use suitable protective equipment(Section 8).

ventilation is inadequate, use a NIOSH certified respirator with an
organic vapor cartridge and P95 particulate filter.
