Counting The Omer
The Purpose
“Then you are to count from the morrow after the Shabbat (Passover), from the
day that you brought the omer of the wave offering, seven complete Shabbatot.
Until the morrow after the seventh Shabbat you are to count fifty days, and
then present a new grain offering to ADONAI.” --Leviticus 23:15-16
An omer is a unit of measure. On the second day of Passover, in the days of the
Temple, an omer of barley was cut down and brought to the Temple as an
offering.
Counting the Omer is part of participating in God’s moadim (appointed times).
Every day we count, let us be reminded of the link between Pesach (Passover),
which commemorates the Exodus and deliverance, and Shavuot (Feast of Weeks -
Pentecost), which commemorates the giving of the Torah (First 5 Books of the
Bible) and God’s Ruach (Spirit). It reminds us that the redemption from slavery
was not complete until we received the Torah - God’s Word. It also reminds us
that without God’s Spirit, we don’t have the ability to understand His Word, nor
the strength to keep it.

Our purpose in counting the omer is to draw closer to God each day by being
obedient to His Word. We should expect that our faith level will be raised each
day in anticipation of what God will do in our lives, and through us, in the lives
of those around us!
Each day, you will have a new theme: scriptures to read, along with a thought, a
challenge and a short prayer. In the back, you have a few pages for journaling.
This year, our theme comes from the teachings of Yeshua in Matthew 1-12. Also,
included are verses from the Hebrew Scriptures to be seen as a foundation of
Yeshua’s teachings. Each daily entry is short, so don’t just read it - meditate on it
and discuss it with others! I hope it will be a catalyst for further study each day.

I pray that you will share this 50-day devotional with all the people you speak to,
especially your family. Have them read it, or download it at: shoreshdavid.org.

According to the Jewish lunar calendar, each day begins in the evening, at
sundown. Counting the omer can begin on Saturday evening, April 16th, or
Sunday, April 17th. This booklet will use Sunday as the starting day, but know
that if you prefer to begin in the evening, Saturday, April 16th, would be correct
too.

I pray that this “Counting the Omer” Devotional will be a blessing to you, and
those you love!

Love in Messiah,
Rabbi

Sunday, April 17th, 2022 (16 Nissan) Omer Day 1

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.

Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us apart by
Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.

Today is the 1st day of the 1st week and Day 1,

I have counted the Omer.

Theme: We Live By God’s Words

Scriptures:
Matthew 4:4 But He replied, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone,
but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’

Deuteronomy 8:3 He afflicted you and let you hunger, then He fed you manna—
which neither you nor your fathers had known—in order to make you understand
that man does not live by bread alone but by every word that comes from the
mouth of ADONAI.
Thought:
If thou sin, the word of God is thy adversary. It is the adversary of thy will till it
become the author of thy salvation. (Augustine) Make God’s Word our joy as it
will always nourish and sustain us.

Challenge:
Be in God’s Word every day. Allow it to direct us each day. Let us be a model of
it’s teachings. Let God’s Word be ready at all times to be spoken and acted on in
order for people to see that we not only read and study it, but we are an example
of it.
Prayer:
Lord, I pray that I would have the strength and the motivation to be in Your
Word daily. Help me to understand your Word and apply it to my life. Help
me to understand that Your Word is true nourishment and that through Your
Word, You are always speaking to me. Father, help me live Your Word.

Monday, April 18, 2022 (17 Nissan) Omer Day 2

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.

Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us
apart by Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.

Today is the 2nd day of the 1st week and Day 2,

I have counted the Omer.

Theme: Don’t Test God

Scriptures:
Matthew 4:7 Yeshua said to him, “Again it is written, ‘You shall not
put ADONAI your God to the test.
Deuteronomy 6:16 You are not to test ADONAI your God, as you tested Him at
Massah.
Malachi 3:10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse. Then there will be food
in My House. Now test Me in this”—says ADONAI-Tzva’ot—“if I will not open
for you the windows of heaven, and pour out blessing for you, until no one is
without enough.
Thought:
Doubt should not lead us to demand something of God in order to prove
Himself to us. We must have faith in Him and His Word. This is why Yeshua
was not happy with the people who asked for a sign. Luke 11:29 “With the
crowds increasing, Yeshua began to say, “This generation is a wicked
generation. It demands a sign, yet no sign will be given to it except the sign of
Jonah.” The Israelites’ grumbling against God in Exodus 17:1-3 showed their
lack of faith in God.
Challenge:
Do not tempt God by challenging His Word. When faith exists, we are
obedient. In a sense, every time we are disobedient, we are testing God.
Through your faith, be obedient to God’s Word.
Prayer:
Lord, I need Your help as I try to be obedient to Your Word and not test You.
Put Your Word in my heart so that my mind and motivation line up with
3 God’s Word.
Tuesday, April 19, 2022 (18 Nissan) Omer Day 3

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.

Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us apart
by Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.

Today is the 3rd day of the 1st week and Day 3,

I have counted the Omer.

Theme: Only Serve God

Scriptures:
Matthew 4:10 Then Yeshua says to him, “Go away, satan! For it is written,
‘You shall worship ADONAI your God, and Him only shall you serve.’”
Deuteronomy 6:13 You must fear ADONAI your God and serve Him, and
swear by His Name.
Exodus 20:5 Do not bow down to them, do not let anyone make you serve
them. For I, ADONAI your God, am a jealous God,
Thought:
“We don't serve God to gain His acceptance; we are accepted so we serve
God.” (Neil T. Anderson) “There are two kinds of people one can call
reasonable: those who serve God with all their heart because they know him,
and those who seek him with all their heart because they do not know
him.” (Blaise Pascal) “Most people want to serve God, but only in an
advisory capacity.” (Adrian Rogers)
Challenge:
In order to serve God only, let us move the idols from our heart. Let us
move the distractions from our mind. Let us destroy every fleshly action that
attacks our spirit. Now we are ready to serve Him and only Him.
Prayer:
Lord, there is so much in this world that distracts us from serving you. I
pray for the power of Your Spirit to anoint me to fight each spiritual battle.
I will use each victory to serve You.

Wednesday, April 20, 2022 (19 Nissan) Omer Day 4

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.
Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us
apart by Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.

Today is the 4th day of the 1st week and Day 4,

I have counted the Omer.

Theme: Repent
Scriptures:
Matthew 4:17 From then on, Yeshua began to proclaim, “Turn away from
your sins, for the kingdom of heaven is near.”
2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people who are called by my name humble them-
selves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I
will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
Joel 2:13 Rend your heart, not your garments, and turn to ADONAI, your
God. For He is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger, abundant in
mercy, and relenting about the calamity due.
Thought:
“There is no doubt that all men from Adam on have had to repent in order
to have a right relationship with God. The importance of repentance is
demonstrated by the fact that men of every biblical age preached it.” (Curtis
Hudson) “It is the greatest and dearest blessing that ever God gave to men,
that they may repent; and therefore to deny or to delay it is to refuse health
when brought by the skill of the physician - to refuse liberty offered to us by
our gracious Lord.” (Jeremy Taylor)
Challenge:
Develop a spirit of repentance so that you will automatically do it quickly.
When you repent, see it as a blessing which God has given you to experience
true freedom.
Prayer:
Lord, change my heart and mind from seeing repentance as something I
have to do because I’ve sinned, to see repentance as a gift from the You to
set me free. I pray that I will truly be thankful for the gift of repentance.

Thursday, April 21, 2022 (20 Nissan) Omer Day 5

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.

Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us
apart by Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.

Today is the 5th day of the 1st week and Day 5,

I have counted the Omer.

Theme: Become Fishers Of Men

Scriptures:
Matthew 4:19 And He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers
of men.
Isaiah 49:6 So He says, “It is too trifling a thing that You should be My
servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob and restore the preserved ones of
Israel. So I will give You as a light for the nations, that You should be My
salvation to the end of the earth.
Acts 13:47 For so the Lord has commanded us, ‘I have placed you as a light
to the nations, so that you may bring salvation to the end of the earth.
Romans 11:11 I say then, they did not stumble so as to fall, did they? May it
never be! But by their false step salvation has come to the Gentiles, to
provoke Israel to jealousy.
Thought:
“Nature teaches us that every believer should be a soul-winner. It is an
essential part of the new nature.” (Andrew Murray) God’s plan is for all of
us to share with everyone!
Challenge:
Share your faith with at least one person today, and tomorrow, and each day
you are alive, and meeting with those who do not know the richness of being
a child of God in Yeshua.
Prayer:
Lord, I need you to help me recognize Your divine appointments and that I
would seize each opportunity that You present. Let me overcome any fears
or rationalizations that I use to not accomplish Your will. May my heart be
to win people to You every day!

Friday, April 22, 2022 (21 Nissan) Omer Day 6

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.

Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us apart by
Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.

Today is the 6th day of the 1st week and Day 6,

I have counted the Omer.

Theme: Poor In Spirit

Scriptures:
Matthew 5:3 Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Isaiah 66:2 For My hand has made all these things, so all these things came to be,”
declares ADONAI. “But on this one will I look, one humble and of a contrite
spirit, who trembles at My word.”

Isaiah 57:15 For thus says the High and Exalted One who inhabits eternity, whose
Name is Holy: “I dwell in a high and holy place, yet also with a contrite and hum-
ble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and revive the heart of the contrite.
Thought:
As we spend the next 50 days asking God to teach us and prepare us to obediently
be His children, our hearts have to be open to be teachable. Having a poor spirit
is not a negative, but rather a humble look at yourself, ready to learn and be re-
freshed by God’s Ruach. (Spirit)
Challenge:
During these 50 days, allow your heart to be challenged. Wherever you are
spiritually, allow God to awaken you to a far greater awareness of His love and
His teachings and respond with your love and your openness to receive.
Prayer:
Lord, open my heart, my mind, my eyes , and my spirit to the understanding and
the application of Your teachings. May these 50 days of counting the omer bring
me greater faith and understanding of Your Word for Your glory.

Saturday, April 23, 2022 (22 Nissan) Omer Day 7

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.
Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us
apart by Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.

Today is the 7th day of the 1st week and Day 7,

I have counted the Omer.

Theme:
Even In Mourning, May My Blessings Be Assured
Scriptures:
Matthew 5:4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.

Isaiah 49:13 Shout for joy, heavens! Rejoice, earth! Break forth into ringing
shouts, O mountains! For ADONAI has comforted His people and has
compassion on His afflicted.” Ecclesiastes Better to go to a house of
mourning than to go to the house of feasting, since that is the end of all
mankind —and the living should take it to heart.
Thought:
We might mourn because of our sin or mourn because of a loss we have
experienced. Though we might not be happy, God consoles us and so we are
blessed. God promises us a blessing in this life even though we will have
sorrow. However, in eternal life, there will be no sorrow and our blessing
will be obvious. (Revelation 21:4)
Challenge:
Try to focus your thoughts more on your blessings then your happiness.
Happiness comes from positive experiences, while blessings and joy come
from being focused on the Lord. This week, make a list of your blessings
and think about that list during your time with the Lord.
Prayer:
Lord, I mourn the loss of many dear friends in the past year, but I am
blessed to have known them. Let my countenance and my behaviors be as a
result of my blessings. Turn my mourning into joy. (Jeremiah 31:12;
Psalm 30:12. 8
Sunday, April 24, 2022 (23 Nissan) Omer Day 8

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.

Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us
apart by Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.

Today is the 1st day of the 2nd week and Day 8,

I have counted the Omer.

Theme: Your Gentleness Makes Me Great

Scriptures:
Matthew 5:5 Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
Psalm 18:36 You gave me the shield of Your salvation. Your right hand
upholds me, Your gentleness makes me great.
2 Corinthians 10:1 Now I, Paul, appeal myself to you by the meekness
and gentleness of Messiah
Thought:
When I think of meek, I think of humble and gentle. God, the Father, and
Yeshua are both described as meek. God’s gentleness makes us great. Our
meekness is a result ofour faith and leaving everything in God’s hands. Of
course we will inherit the earth when we put our trust in God. Trust in
Him!
Challenge:
We can be seen as meek when we trust God. Try putting your difficulties in
God’s hands. Do what you can do about it, gently, and then see what
happens rather than being a “bull in a china shop”. God favors those who are
meek: humble and gentle. (Isaiah 2:12; 57:15; 66:2; Psalm 51:19; Zechariah 9:9)
Prayer:
Lord, my tendency is to take control and not be gentle, humble or meek.
Help me put things in Your hands and have the patience and the faith to
trust You with the results. May my gentleness be a reflection of Your
greatness.

Monday, April 25, 2022 (24 Nissan) Omer Day 9

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.

Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us
apart by Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.

Today is the 2nd day of the 2nd week and Day 9,

I have counted the Omer.

Theme: Hunger For Righteousness

Scriptures:
Matthew 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for
they shall be satisfied.
Psalm 106:3 Blessed are those who maintain justice, who do what is right at
all times.
Genesis 15:6 Then he believed in ADONAI and He reckoned it to him as
righteousness.
Thought:
Being hungry and thirsty means that you are extremely motivated that God
would see you as righteous. Abraham achieved that through faith. He
proved it through obedience. He would not let anything get in the way of
doing it God’s way. Righteousness is the quality of being virtuous,
honorable, or morally right. The only way we can do that is by being
obedient to God’s Word.
Challenge:
Righteousness requires both faith and humility. Challenge your decision or
your behavior when there is a difference between what the world would tell
you is right verses what God would say. Think of something in your life:
taxes? relationship? family issues? etc.
Prayer:
Lord, I want to be righteous in Your sight. Let me have the humility to see
things Your way and the faith to be strong enough to be obedient. Place
Proverbs 11:19 in my heart: “Steadfast righteousness leads to life”.

10
Tuesday, April 26, 2022 (25 Nissan) Omer Day 10

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.

Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us
apart by Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.

Today is the 3rd day of the 2nd week and Day 10,
I have counted the Omer.

Theme: Mercy
Scriptures:
Matthew 5:7 Blessed are the merciful, for they shall be shown mercy.
Micah 6:8 He has told you, humanity, what is good, and what ADONAI is
seeking from you: Only to practice justice, to love mercy, and to walk
humbly with your God.
Joel 2:13 Rend your heart, not your garments, and turn to ADONAI, your
God. For He is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger, abundant
in mercy, and relenting about the calamity due.
Thought:
Mercy is the compassion and kindness shown to someone who deserves to be
punished – a deliverance from judgement. God has already given us mercy,
so we should do the same. Mercy usually violates our understanding of
fairness. That’s why we have to follow God, because our understanding has
been taught by the world. We need God’s understanding.
“God's mercy with a sinner is only equaled and perhaps outmatched by His
patience with the saints, with you and me.” (Alan Redpath)
Challenge:
Can you think of someone who does not deserve mercy from you? That’s
the one God is calling you to be merciful to. This is what it means to be
godly. Have His mindset. Do it His way. Will you do that?
Prayer:
Lord, help us to care more about Your word then our feelings or our
common sense. You know what’s best for all of us. Give us the strength
through Your Spirit to do what is right in Your sight – may we give mercy!
11
Wednesday, April 27, 2022 (26 Nissan) Omer Day 11

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.

Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us
apart by Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.

Today is the 4th day of the 2nd week and Day 11,
I have counted the Omer.

Theme: Pure In Heart

Scriptures:
Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.

Psalm 24:3-5 Who may go up on the mountain of ADONAI? Who may stand
in His holy place? One with clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted
his soul in vain, nor sworn deceitfully. He will receive a blessing from
ADONAI, righteousness from God his salvation.
Matthew 15:7-8 Hypocrites! Rightly did Isaiah prophesy about you,
saying, ‘This people honors Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me.
Thought:
Yeshua’s concern is with our heart. Purity in heart is being free from
contamination. The world and our culture contaminates our heart. Our
mindset is to be singularly on God. His desire is for our heart to be focused
on Him. A pure heart desires what God desires.
Challenge:
To be pure in heart, we start by repenting to the Lord for all our sins and
transgressions. Once you do that, cry out to the Lord for forgiveness and ask
God, by the power of His Spirit, to take away all that is impure. Do this each
day.
Prayer:
“Create in me a clean and pure heart O God and renew a steadfast spirit in
me!” Lord, this is the cry of one who knows that they have sinned and come
short of Your glory. “Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity and cleanse me
from my sin. Cleanse me with hyssop and I will be clean. Wash me, and I will
be whiter than snow. “(Psalm 51 & Romans 3:23) 12
Thursday, April 28, 2022 (12 Nissan) Omer Day 12

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.
Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us
apart by Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.

Today is the 5th day of the 2nd week and Day 12,
I have counted the Omer.

Theme: Are You A Peacemaker?

Scriptures:
Matthew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of
God.

Proverbs 16:7 When one’s ways are pleasing to ADONAI, he makes even his
enemies be at peace with him.

Psalm 34:15 Depart from evil and do good. Seek shalom and pursue it.

Romans 12:18 If possible, so far as it depends on you, live in shalom with all
people.
Thought:
“Until he extends his circle of compassion to include all living things, man
will not himself find peace.” (Albert Schweitzer) We need to purpose in our
hearts to have peace. Life is complicated, and not everyone will desire peace.
Present peace in all situations and leave the rest up to the Lord.
Challenge:
Think of a relationship where you don’t have peace. Your challenge is to
make peace more important than being right. Present peace and pray. (If
the person is in sin, you are not condoning sin, however, in order to have
peace, you are extending mercy.
Prayer:
Lord, “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My
ways.” It is a declaration of ADONAI. (Isaiah 55:8), however, I cry out to you
to help me line up my ways with Yours.
13
Friday, April 29, 2022 (28 Nissan) Omer Day 13

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.

Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us
apart by Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.

Today is the 6th day of the 2nd week and Day 13,
I have counted the Omer.

Theme: Persecuted & Blessed

Scriptures:
Matthew 5:10-12 Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of
righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when people
revile you and persecute you and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, on
account of Me. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great! For in
the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Deuteronomy 30:7 ADONAI your God will put all these curses on your enemies
and on those who hate you, who persecuted you.
Thought:
Take a moment to think about the following: “Calamity clarifies and comfort
confuses; persecution purifies and prosperity pollutes!”
(2 Corinthians 4:8-10) “We are hard pressed in every way, yet not crushed;
perplexed, yet not in despair; persecuted, yet not forsaken; struck down, yet not
destroyed; always carrying in the body the death of Yeshua, so that the life
of Yeshua may also be revealed in our mortal body.”
Challenge:
There are times that God allows persecution and uses it for His plans. (Romans
8:28) Our challenge is to know that during these times of persecution, we are
still blessed.
Prayer:
Lord, I always need Your help, however, during persecution, I need to know
You more. Please comfort me. Draw me close to You. Give me Your promises
to hold on to. Fill me with hope and faith. Help me to not fear man. Help me
to pray more, and more intensely, as I realize that all that is happening is part
of spiritual warfare. May I be Your faithful disciple.

Saturday, April 30, 2022 (29 Nissan) Omer Day 14

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.

Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us
apart by Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.

Today is the 7th day of the 2nd week and Day 14,
I have counted the Omer.

Theme: Make Me A Salt Shaker

Scriptures:
Matthew 5:13 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt should lose its
flavor, how shall it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything,
except to be thrown out and trampled under-foot by men.
Leviticus 2:13 Also you are to season with salt every sacrifice of your grain
offering. You are never to allow the salt of the covenant of your God to be
lacking from your grain offering. With all your sacrifices you must offer salt.
Numbers 18:19 Whatever is set aside from the holy offerings which Bnei-
Yisrael present to ADONAI, I have given to you, your sons and your
daughters with you as a permanent share. It is an everlasting covenant of salt
before ADONAI for you and your offspring
Thought:
Salt preserves meat. It stops meat from rotting. It permanently changes the
flavor of food. Our permanent purpose, given to us by God, is to stop our
society from rotting by sharing the Good News of Yeshua.
Challenge:
In what way have you helped stop the downward spiral of our society? This
week, make a conscious effort to intentionally share the Good News of
Yeshua with someone.
Prayer:
Lord, I am so conscious of what is happening around me as people are losing
more and more of their biblical morality. Help me to make a difference in at
least one person’s life this week. May my representation of You truly be
anointed so that just one person will permanently decide that You are the
15 way, the truth, and the life.
Sunday, May 1, 2022 (30 Nissan) Omer Day 15

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.

Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us
apart by Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.

Today is the 1st day of the 3rd week and Day 15,
I have counted the Omer.
Theme: Make Me Seen As A Light
Scriptures:
Matthew 5:14-16 You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be
hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a basket. Instead, they
put it on a lampstand so it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let
your light shine before men so they may see your good works and glorify your
Father in heaven.”
Genesis 1:3-4 Then God said, “Let there be light!” and there was light. God saw
that the light was good. So God distinguished the light from the darkness.
Isaiah 60:1-3 Arise, shine, for your light has come! The glory of ADONAI has
risen on you. For behold, darkness covers the earth, and deep darkness the
peoples. But ADONAI will arise upon you, and His glory will appear over
you. Nations will come to your light, kings to the brilliance of your rising.
Thought:
God created the light; God’s Word shows us what light looks like; Yeshua is the
light; The Holy Spirit gives us the power to be a light too. Walking in the light
of the Lord brings light to all around us.
Challenge:
Always move forward towards God’s light and you will become a light too.
With all the twists, turns, and distractions in life, our challenge is to move
forward to the onward call in Messiah Yeshua. (Phil 3:12-14)
Prayer:
Without You Lord, it is impossible for me to be a light. However, I can do all
things through Messiah who strengthens me. Lord, help me to move forward in
the light of Yeshua, with the power of the Holy Spirit. May I be a light in all
my situations – at all times.

Monday, May 2, 2022 (1 Iyar) Omer Day 16

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.

Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us
apart by Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.

Today is the 2nd day of the 3rd week and Day 16,
I have counted the Omer.

Theme: Keep God’s Commandments

Scriptures:
Matthew 5:19 Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these
commandments, and teaches others the same, shall be called least in the
kingdom of heaven. But whoever keeps and teaches them, this one shall be
called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Deuteronomy 10:12-13 And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God
require of you, but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, to
love him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your
soul, and to keep the commandments and statutes of the LORD, which I am
commanding you today for your good?
John 14:15 If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.
1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God—that we keep His commandments.
And His commandments are not burdensome.
Thought:
What are the commandments that we must keep? Yeshua made it clear: love
God and love your neighbor. “On these two commandments depend all the
Law and the Prophets.” (Matthew 22:40)
Challenge:
Clarity makes things easier. However, in this case, it seems harder. The
difficulty of loving God and my neighbor is so great, it seems impossible.
Every day it’s a challenge. The only way we can love our neighbor is if we
are so totally in love with God that we trust Him for everything.
Prayer:
Lord, HELP!!! I would say that loving my neighbor is complicated but I am
afraid You have not given me that as an option. Help Lord, my spirit is
willing but my flesh is weak. Help me to love You so strongly, that the
17 power of Your Spirit will overtake me with Your love!
Tuesday, May 3, 2022 (2 Iyar) Omer Day 17

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.

Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us
apart by Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.

Today is the 3rd day of the 3rd week and Day 17,
I have counted the Omer.

Theme: Anger Is Not From God

Scriptures:
Matthew 5:22 But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother
will be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother will be liable to the
council; and whoever says, ‘You fool!’ will be liable to the hell of fire.

Psalm 37:8 Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath! Fret not yourself; it tends
only to evil.

Proverbs 29:22 An angry man stirs up dissention, and a hotheaded one

commits many transgressions.
Thought:
The context of Matthew 5:22 is just after Yeshua told us to keep His
commandment of love. Though His teaching on anger seems severe, He is
reinforcing His desire for us to love. Yeshua raises the bar concerning acting
out in anger by reminding us of what is most important—our love.
Challenge:
Here is a two part challenge: We are to love people. Secondly, to show that
love, let’s use our self-control to not be angry. The next time you feel
yourself getting angry, tell yourself, you are about to break the command-
ment that matters most to God. (loving our neighbor) Is there any reason
that your anger is more important then God’s desire?
Prayer:
Lord, our reaction to others is one of the most difficult emotions to control.
But I do believe, by the power of the Holy Spirit residing in me, it’s possible.
Please help me! May Your commandment be more important than my
feelings!

Wednesday, May 4, 2022 (3 Iyar) Omer Day 18

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.

Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us
apart by Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.

Today is the 4th day of the 3rd week and Day 18,
I have counted the Omer.

Theme: Before Presenting God Your Offering

Scriptures:
Matthew 523-24 Therefore if you are presenting your offering upon the
altar, and there remember that your brother has something against
you, leave your offering there before the altar and go. First be reconciled to
your brother, and then come and present your offering.
Psalm 24:3-4 Who may go up on the mountain of ADONAI? Who may stand
in His holy place? One with clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted
his soul in vain, nor sworn deceitfully.
Proverbs 11:24 One gives freely, yet gains even more. Another withholds
unjustly, and comes to poverty.
Thought:
Before we can give an offering to the Lord, He wants our heart to be pure.
He even wants us to clear up offenses that others might have against us. We
must be clean in order to come closer to God. God is holy and requires us to
be holy too.
Challenge:
Are there some people who have something against you that you have not
sought to reconcile with? God is not asking if you think it is possible. God is
directing you to try to reconcile, and regardless of the response, you will
have done your part in cleaning up your heart.
Prayer:
Lord, grant me the insight to know who You want me to reconcile with.
Then grant me the strength and everything I need in order to go to them
and do my part seeking reconciliation. I pray for Your special anointing to
be all over me.

Thursday, May 5, 2022 (4 Iyar) Omer Day 19

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.

Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us
apart by Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.

Today is the 5th day of the 3rd week and Day 19,
I have counted the Omer.

Theme: Have I Committed Adultery?

Scriptures:
Matthew 5:28 But I tell you that everyone who looks upon a woman to lust
after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
Leviticus 20:10 The man who commits adultery with another man’s wife,
who commits adultery with his friend’s wife, both the adulterer and the
adulteress shall surely be put to death.
Proverbs 6:32 He who commits adultery with a woman lacks sense. Whoever
does so destroys himself.
Thought:
Scripture shows us how God feels about sin. Here is an example of Yeshua
putting a fence around a commandment. This is done often in Judaism. In
order to not act on the sin of adultery, Yeshua shows us that even our
thoughts to God are adulterous. He has raised the bar. The sexual
revolution we are experiencing is all about sin. However, let us not
downplay the log in our own eyes.
Challenge:
Our mind is often complicated, often messy and seemingly uncontrollable.
In order to be holy, as God is holy, we need to gain control even of our
thoughts in order not to sin. When we allow our sinful thoughts to take up
space in our mind and dwell there, we invite sin into our lives.
Prayer:
Lord, again I come to you for help! Let me recognize your high standards
and apply them to myself. Let me care about each thought and immediately
throw out of my mind anything that does not represent You.

Friday, May 6, 2022 (5 Iyar) Omer Day 20

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.
Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us
apart by Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.

Today is the 6th day of the 3rd week and Day 20,
I have counted the Omer.

Theme: I Keep My Promises, Don’t I?

Scriptures:
Matthew 5:37 But let your word ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No’—anything
more than this is from the evil one
Numbers 30:2 Whenever a man makes a vow to ADONAI or swears an oath
to obligate himself by a pledge, he is not to violate his word but do
everything coming out of his mouth.
Leviticus 19:12 You are not to swear by My Name falsely, and so profane the
Name of your God. I am ADONAI.
Thought:
Whether we invoke God or just make a statement in conversation of what
we are going to do, we are to make our yes mean yes. Mouthing a
meaningless oath does not create loopholes. Your word should be your
promise. Simply say what you mean and stick by it. We make many
promises during one day. We say we will do “such and such”. Can we be
counted on to do what we said? Our reputation and credibility as a follower
of Yeshua depends on it.
Challenge:
First, listen to what you say each day and see how many times you promise
something. Then, make sure you do it. If you can’t do it, tell the person
why, and let them know when or if you can accomplish it. Don’t embellish
on the whys.
Prayer:
Lord, help me to promise only those things that I can do and let me do
them. However, Lord, if I can’t do something, help me immediately com-
municate that to the person I promised and schedule with them how I can
21 complete my promise. I understand, this is part of being faithful to You.
Saturday, May 7, 2022 (6 Iyar) Omer Day 21

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.

Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us
apart by Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.

Today is the 7th day of the 3rd week and Day 21,
I have counted the Omer.
Theme: Overcome Evil With Good
Scriptures:
Matthew 5:38-42 You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye, and a
tooth for a tooth.’ But I tell you, do not resist an evildoer. But whoever
slaps you on your right cheek, turn to him also the other. And the one
wanting to sue you and to take your shirt, let him also have your
coat. Whoever forces you to go one mile, go with him two. Give to the one
who asks of you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow
from you.
Deuteronomy 19:21 Your eye must not show pity—life for life, eye for eye,
tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot. (Exodus 21:24; Leviticus 24:20)
Thought:
“An eye for an eye” was intended to be a guiding principle for civil
authorities like judges. I believe Yeshua was reacting to those, probably the
Sanhedrin, who were applying this law to personal relationships. Yeshua
shows His heart for personal relationships as He redirects our thinking to
being a blessing to even those who take advantage of us.
Challenge:
Preferring others more than ourselves is our challenge. Yeshua modeled this
for us. (Philippians 2:3-5)
Prayer:
Lord, I need the power of Your Spirit to help me not be self-absorbed. My
desire is to care for others before me, but it doesn’t always happen. Father,
fill me with Your desires, and motivate me to apply these scriptures to my
life.

Sunday, May 8, 2022 (7 Iyar) Omer Day 22

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.

Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us
apart by Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.

Today is the 1st day of the 4th week and Day 22,
I have counted the Omer.

Theme: Love & Pray For Your Enemies

Scriptures:
Matthew 5:43-44 You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor
and hate your enemy. But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who
persecute you,
Leviticus 19:17-18 You are not to hate your brother in your heart. Instead, you
are to firmly rebuke your neighbor, and not bear sin because of him. You are
not to take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people,
but love your neighbor as yourself. I am ADONAI.
Thought:
Yeshua is not quoting the Hebrew Scriptures here, but the pharisaical
misinterpretation. Nowhere in scripture does it say to hate your enemy. God is love
and we need to learn to live in God’s love. (1 John 4:8) Our battles are in the spiritual
realm, not the physical. (Ephesians 6:12) We are taught in Philippians 4:6 that we
should not be anxious, but by prayer and thanksgiving, make our requests known to
God.
Challenge:
Our first reaction when we feel attacked, especially verbally, is to defend
ourselves and attack back. Challenge yourself to not respond quickly or
negatively. Try to go through the following thought process. 1. Was it
intentional? 2. Is it more important to be right or show love? 3. Apologize for
any possible thing you did wrong. 4. May your goal be peace as much as it
depends on you. 5. Forgive - Showing love in all situations is a challenge.
Prayer:
Lord, I need Your supernatural strength to fight my natural reactions in order
to respond in a way that gives You the glory. Let me love at all times.
23
Monday, May 9, 2022 (8 Iyar) Omer Day 23

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.

Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us
apart by Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.

Today is the 2nd day of the 4th week and Day 23,
I have counted the Omer.
Theme: Be Not Prideful
Scriptures:
Matthew 6:1 Beware of practicing your righteousness before others to be
seen by them; otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven.
Proverbs 8:13 To fear ADONAI is to hate evil. I hate pride and arrogance, evil
behavior and a perverse mouth.
Proverbs 26:12 Do you see one wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for
a fool than him.
Proverbs 29:23 A man’s pride will bring him low, but a humble spirit will
gain honor.
Thought:
“Pride gets no pleasure out of having something, only out of having more of
it than the next man.” (C.S. Lewis) To do anything for prideful or arrogant
reasons actually proves your insecurity. Strength and purity come from a
humble spirit. God loves a broken and contrite heart. (Psalm 51:19)
Challenge:
As you listen to yourself speak, evaluate whether you are speaking as God’s
humble servant or for the praises of others. Sometimes we even allow
ourselves to be a victim to get attention. Scrutinize your words and your
actions in order to be pleasing to God. Then, man’s praises will follow.
Prayer:
Lord, when my strength comes from You, I will not be prideful, but
thankful. Lord, help me to always be grateful and thankful of what You
have done in my life and what You are doing. Help me to humble myself
under Your mighty hand, knowing that You will lift me up at the
appropriate time. (1 Peter 5:6) 24
Tuesday, May 10, 2022 (9 Iyar) Omer Day 24

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.

Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us
apart by Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.

Today is the 3rd day of the 4th week and Day 24,
I have counted the Omer.

Theme: Pray In This Way

Scriptures:
Matthew 6:9-13 Therefore, pray in this way: ‘Our Father in heaven,
sanctified be Your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as
it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts as
we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but
deliver us from the evil one.

Our Father - Isaiah 63:16; in Heaven - Psalm 115:3; Isaiah 57:15; 66:1
Sanctified by Your name - Leviticus 22:32; 1 Chronicles 17:24; Nehemiah 9:5;
Isaiah 6:3; Ezekiel 36:23; Your kingdom come - Daniel 7:27; Isaiah 9:6;
Jeremiah 23:5; Your will be done - Daniel 4:34; Psalm 143:10; On earth as it is
in heaven - Nehemiah 9:6; Psalm 103:19-22; Give us this day our daily bread -
Proverbs 30:8; Job 23:12; Isaiah 33:16; And forgive us our debts - Exodus
34:7; Psalm 32:1; 103:3-12; 130:4; 2 Chronicles 6:21 As we forgive our debtors
- Genesis 50:17; 1 Samuel 25:28, 29; Deuteronomy 15:2 And lead us not into
temptation - Isaiah 3:12; Proverbs 16:29; Psalm 125:5; Deut. 8:2; Proverbs
30:8 But deliver us from evil - Psalm 121:7, 8; Jeremiah 15:21;
Thought:
Yeshua the Messiah - the same yesterday, today, & forever. (Hebrews 13:8)
Challenge:
Include these parts within your prayer time: 1. Adore God 2. Acknowledge
His Sovereignty 3. Pray for your needs 4. Forgive & intercede
5. Ask for God’s protection
Prayer:
Lord, may my prayers please Your heart.

Wednesday, May 11, 2022 (10 Iyar) Omer Day 25

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.
Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us
apart by Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.

Today is the 4th day of the 4th week and Day 25,
I have counted the Omer.

Theme: Forgive!!
Scriptures:
Matthew 6:14 For if you forgive others their transgressions, your heavenly
Father will also forgive you.
Isaiah 1:18 “Come now, let us reason together,” says ADONAI. “Though your sins
be like scarlet, they will be as white as snow. Though they be red like crimson,
they will become like wool.
Genesis 50:17 Thus you must say to Joseph: ‘Please forgive, I beg you, the
transgression of your brothers and their sin because they treated you wrongly.’
Therefore, please forgive the transgression of the servants of the God of your
father.”
Thought:
To make a mistake is human, to forgive is divine. God requires us to forgive.
He demonstrated forgiveness for us. His Word is filled with forgiveness. “Man
has two great spiritual needs. One is for forgiveness. The other is for
goodness.” (Billy Graham) Without forgiveness, people become bitter. Without
forgiveness, we give more power over our lives to the people who have hurt us.
Having a forgiving spirit brings improved physical and emotional health.
Challenge:
Make a list of those you need to forgive, and forgive them. Forgiving will
require repentance for the sin of unforgiveness. (An additional challenge will be
that it will seem as the person who hurt you gets off free – they don’t have to do
anything. Correct – forgiveness requires unconditional love and is done out of
your love and obedience for the Lord.)
Prayer:
Lord, help me recognize anyone who I need to forgive. Help me realize the
benefits to forgiving people so that I not only forgive because I am being
obedient to Your heart, I am also motivated from my heart. 26
Thursday, May 12, 2022 (11 Iyar) Omer Day 26

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.

Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us
apart by Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.

Today is the 5th day of the 4th week and Day 26,
I have counted the Omer.

Theme: Where Is Your Heart?

Scriptures:
Matthew 6:19-21 Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth
and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for
yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where
thieves do not break in or steal. For where your treasure is, there will your
heart be also.
Jeremiah 29:13 You will seek Me and find Me, when you will search for Me with
all your heart.
Deuteronomy 4:29 But from there you will seek ADONAI your God and you will
find Him, when you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.
Thought:
What is your treasure? Our treasures define the desires of our heart. Can you
say that your treasure is God over everything else? God is a jealous God and
wants the best part of you. He gave us Yeshua in order for us to have a personal
relationship with Him. Most of us have accepted Yeshua into our heart and
have atonement for our sins. However, our walk with the Lord is dependent on
our heart relationship with Him.
Challenge:
Are you willing to push aside the things of this world in order to have daily
devotions? Are you willing to push other things aside in order to come to
services and worship the Lord together? Are you willing to give God your best?
Prayer:
Lord, there are so many distractions in my life; some important and others
frivolous. Sometimes I’m distracted by the important things and
sometimes lesser things, but I want You to come first. Lord, I need to be
27 transformed in order to live by Your desires for me.
Friday, May 13, 2022 (12 Iyar) Omer Day 27

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.
Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us
apart by Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.

Today is the 6th day of the 4th week and Day 27,
I have counted the Omer.

Theme: Don’t Worry

Scriptures:
Matthew 6:25 So I say to you, do not worry about your life—what you will eat or
drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food and the
body more than clothing?
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in ADONAI with all your heart, lean not on your own under-
standing. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths
straight.
Psalm 55:23 Cast your burden on ADONAI, and He will sustain you. He will
never let the righteous be shaken.
Thought:
“Begin to rejoice in the Lord, and your bones will flourish like an herb, and your
cheeks will glow with the bloom of health and freshness. Worry, fear, distrust,
care-all are poisonous! Joy is balm and healing, and if you will but rejoice, God
will give power.” (A.B. Simpson) “Worry does not empty tomorrow of its
sorrow. It empties today of its strength.” “Worry is like a rocking chair-it keeps
you moving but doesn't get you anywhere.” (Corrie Ten Boom)
Challenge:
It is hard to tell you to stop worrying - that usually doesn’t help. However, if you
focus on the Lord and rejoice in Him, your worries will lessen. For me, I pray
scripture. Also, seek out someone who is encouraging and let them minister to
you. You are not bothering them, but rather you are giving them an opportunity
for a blessing.
Prayer:
Lord, I come against the spirit of worry. I realize it is from the pit and meant to
make things worse, especially my physical and mental health. Give me a spirit of
rejoicing in You. Let me be encouraged by praying Your Word. Show me
the people in my life who will encourage me. Give me a thankful spirit. 28
Saturday, May 14, 2022 (13 Iyar) Omer Day 28

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.

Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us
apart by Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.

Today is the 7th day of the 4th week and Day 28,
I have counted the Omer.

Theme: Cure For Worrying

Scriptures:
Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and
all these things shall be added to you.
Psalm 94:19 When my troubling thoughts multiply within me, Your
consolations comfort my soul.
Isaiah 35:4 Say to those with anxious heart, “Be strong, have no fear!”
Behold, your God! Vengeance is coming! God’s recompense—it is coming!
Then He will save you.
Thought:
“I am no longer anxious about anything, as I realize the Lord is able to carry
out His will, and His will is mine. It makes no matter where He places me,
or how. That is rather for Him to consider than for me; for in the easiest
positions He must give me His grace, and in the most difficult, His grace is
sufficient.” (Hudson Taylor) From this quote we surmise that being sold out
to the Lord brings us peace.
Challenge:
Make God first so that you can agree with the Hudson Taylor quote. I don’t
give you this challenge lightly. Join me as I spend time with his quote, plus
the above scriptures, so that I can get closer to agreement with God.
Prayer:
Lord, I see Your scriptures and I read the quote as a response to Your
scripture. I pray that I too will have this ability to put You higher than any
worries that I might have. Anoint me with Your Spirit of faith. I believe,
help my unbelief. (Mark 9:24)

Sunday, May 15, 2022 (14 Iyar) Omer Day 29

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.
Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us
apart by Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.

Today is the 1st day of the 5th week and Day 29,
I have counted the Omer.

Theme: Should I Judge?

Scriptures:
Matthew 7:1-2 Stop judging, so that you may not be judged. For with the
judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be
measured to you.
Isaiah 66:5 Hear the word of ADONAI, you who tremble at His word: “Your
brothers who hated you, excluding you for My Name’s sake, have said, ‘Let
ADONAI be glorified, that we may see your joy’—but they will be put to shame.
Galatians 6:1-2 Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught doing something
wrong, you who are directed by the Ruach, restore such a person in a spirit of
gentleness—looking closely at yourself so you are not tempted also. Bear one
another’s burdens, and in this way you fulfill the Torah of Messiah.
Thought:
When we judge others, be careful, because we will be judge by the we way we
have judged. Because we are human, we must judge with a humble spirit. We
shouldn’t be rude or forceful, but rather have empathy, even in judgement. “If
all you ever do is attack someone’s behavior, then you’re never going to be able
to set them free to become who they really are. Accountability is not calling
somebody out on their behavior, it is calling them up to their identity!” (Rabbi
Jason Sobel)
Challenge:
Sometimes, when we judge others, since we think we are right and they are
wrong, we take liberties in how we speak and act that are not within Yeshua’s
teachings. Next time you judge in your mind or out loud, first look at yourself
and judge the way you would want to be judged.
Prayer:
Lord, give me the wisdom and self-control to be a good and effective judge so
that I can encourage people to be better, not convince them that they are bad.
May everything I do, bring You glory! 30
Monday, May 16, 2022 (15 Iyar) Omer Day 30

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.

Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us
apart by Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.

Today is the 2nd day of the 5th week and Day 30,
I have counted the Omer.
Theme: Ask!
Scriptures:
Matthew 7:7-8 Ask, and it shall be given to you. Seek, and you shall find.
Knock, and it shall be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and
the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it shall be opened.
Exodus 14:15-16 Then ADONAI said to Moses, “Why are you crying to Me?
Tell Bnei-Yisrael to go forward. Lift up your staff, stretch out your hand
over the sea, and divide it. Then Bnei-Yisrael will go into the midst of the sea
on dry ground.
Matthew 21:22 And whatever you ask in prayer, trusting, you shall receive.
Thought:
“Now without faith it is impossible to please God. For the one who comes
to God must believe that He exists and that He is a rewarder of those who
seek Him.” (Hebrews 11:6) When we pray, speaking to God and asking Him
for something, God says to ask with faith.
Challenge:
Don’t allow our culture, or an insecurity stop you from asking with faith.
To bolster your faith, pray scripture for your answer. Today, picture what
faith looks like, and pray that way!!
Prayer:
Lord, there have been times that I have prayed and not received the answer I
wanted or was expecting. Help me to overcome that kind of thinking and
focus on Your Word which says to ask with expectation. (Psalm 5:4)

Tuesday, May 17, 2022 (16 Iyar) Omer Day 31

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.

Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us
apart by Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.

Today is the 3rd day of the 5th week and Day 31,
I have counted the Omer.

Theme: The Golden Rule

Scriptures:
Matthew 7:12 So in all things, do to others what you would want them to do
to you—for this is the Torah and the Prophets.
Leviticus 19:18 You are not to take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against
the children of your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am
ADONAI.
Matthew 22:39-40 And the second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as
yourself.’ The entire Torah and the Prophets hang on these two
commandments.”
Thought:
“We might come closer to balancing the budget if all of us lived closer to the
Commandments and the Golden Rule” (Ronald Reagan) This quote shows us
that loving your neighbor has more ramifications then you realize. The
world changes when people show love. Your circle of relationships change
when you show love. Love unconditionally and continually.
Challenge:
Treat people the way you want to be treated, not because they deserve it, but
rather because you always want to serve the Lord. Furthermore, seek to
apply Philippians 2:3 Do nothing out of selfishness or conceit, but with
humility consider others as more important than yourselves.
Prayer:
Lord, each day my prayer requests seem more difficult. I pray that I will
want to treat everyone, at all times, in all situations the way I would like to be
treated.

Wednesday, May 18, 2022 (17 Iyar) Omer Day 32

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.
Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us
apart by Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.

Today is the 4th day of the 5th week and Day 32,
I have counted the Omer.

Theme: Watch Out For False Prophets

Scriptures:
Matthew 7:15-16 Watch out for false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s
clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will recognize them by their fruit.
Deuteronomy 18:20 But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in My Name,
which I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other
gods—that prophet will die.’
2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not put up with sound
instruction, but they will pile up for themselves teachers in keeping with their
own desires, to have their ears tickled.
Thought:
Those who deceive will tell you something that isn’t true, whether intentional or
not. First we should establish what the truth is and measure everything against
that truth. The bible is truth. We have to study it to show ourselves approved.
(2 Timothy 2:15) Try not to let one verse create our opinion. Allow God’s Word
to comment on itself. Also, allow trusted people to speak into your life about
something they think you might be wrong about. Let our statement of faith be
dogmatic, all other viewpoints, allow for grace.
Challenge:
Scripture is our rock, the foundation for our truth. Study it. Ask God to
confirm your thoughts about it. Discuss it with others so that you can test out
your ideas.
Prayer:
Lord, I know from experience and history that believers, far smarter then I, have
gotten mixed up in deception. How can that happen? So I come humbly before
You and ask that You protect me from deception of others and from my
33 own heart.
A NOTE FROM RABBI STEVE
Lag Ba’omer is a traditional holiday mostly observed in the Orthodox Jewish
community. I thought you would find this shortened article interesting.

WHAT IS LAG BA’OMER?

The 33rd day of the Omer is an occasion for happiness during an otherwise mournful period. By
Francine Klagsbrun

Lag Ba’Omer is a minor holiday that occurs on the 33rd day of the Omer, the
49-day period between Passover and Shavuot. A break from the semi-mourning
of the Omer, key aspects of Lag Ba’Omer include holding Jewish Weddings (it’s
the one day during the Omer when Jewish law permits them), lighting bonfires
and haircuts.

There are a few explanations why we celebrate Lag Ba’Omer, but none is
definitive. The Omer is a time of semi-mourning, when weddings and other
celebrations are forbidden, and as a sign of grief, observant Jews do not cut their
hair. Anthropologists say that many peoples have similar periods of restraint in
the early spring to symbolize their concerns about the growth of their crops.

But the most often cited explanation for the Jewish practice comes from the
Talmud, which tells us that during this season a plague killed thousands of Rabbi
Akiva’s students because they did not treat one another respectfully. The
mourning behavior is presumably in memory of those students and their severe
punishment.

According to a medieval tradition, the plague ceased on Lag Ba’Omer, the

33rd day of the Omer. (The Hebrew letters lamed and gimel which make up the
acronym “Lag” have the combined numerical value of 33.) As a result, Lag
Ba’Omer became a happy day, interrupting the sadness of the Omer period for
24 hours.

The Talmudic explanation makes most sense when put into historical context.
The outstanding sage Rabbi Akiva became an ardent supporter of Simeon bar
Koseva, known as Bar Kochba, who in 132 C.E. led a ferocious but unsuccessful
revolt against Roman rule in Judea. Akiva not only pinned his hopes on a political
victory over Rome but believed Bar Kokhba to be the long-awaited Messiah.

Many of his students joined him in backing the revolt and were killed along
with thousands of Judeans when it failed. The Talmudic rabbis, still suffering
under Roman rule and cautious about referring openly to past rebellions, may
have been hinting at those deaths when they spoke of a plague among Akiva’s
students. Possibly, also, Lag Ba’Omer marked a respite from battle, or a
momentary victory.

Thursday, May 19, 2022 (18 Iyar) Omer Day 33

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.
Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us
apart by Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.
Theme: Build On The Rock
Today is the 5th day of the 5th week and Day 33,
I have counted the Omer.

Scriptures:
Matthew 7:24 Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and does
them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.
Jeremiah 17:7-8 Blessed is the one who trusts in ADONAI, whose confidence
is in ADONAI. For he will be like a tree planted by the waters, spreading out
its roots by a stream. It has no fear when heat comes, but its leaves will be
green. It does not worry in a year of drought, nor depart from yielding fruit.
1 Samuel 2:2 There is none holy as ADONAI, for there is none besides You,
nor is there any rock like our God.
Thought:
Yeshua is the rock, the Word of God made flesh. (John 1:14) Each one of us
is on a journey called life. This journey requires a proper foundation which
are the words of Yeshua, our rock. We must apply them, do them, not just
hear them. Everything in the world seems to draw us away from God’s
words. Our own feelings pull us toward doing the opposite of what the
Bible says. However, we must follow the words of God despite these
pressures.
Challenge:
The world is upside down. We must hold onto the Words of God in order to
have “God’s sense” rather than “common sense”. Our challenge is to trust
Yeshua more than all the loud voices that get our attention from the world.
Prayer:
Lord, help me trust in You with all my heart, and lean not on my own
understanding. In all my ways I will acknowledge You and I am asking you
to direct my ways; keep my ways straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6) I pray that
anything I build, will be built on You. You are my foundation.
35
Friday, May 20, 2022 (19 Iyar) Omer Day 34

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.

Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us
apart by Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.

Today is the 6th day of the 5th week and Day 34,
I have counted the Omer.
Theme: Yeshua Came For The Unhealthy
Scriptures:
Matthew 9:12-13 But when He heard this, Yeshua said, “Those who are
healthy have no need for a doctor, but those who are sick do. Now go and
learn what this means: ‘Mercy I desire, and not sacrifice.’ For I didn’t come
to call the righteous, but the sinful.”
Jeremiah 33:6 Indeed, I will bring it health and healing, and I will surely
heal them. I will reveal to them an abundance of shalom and truth.
Psalm 147:3 He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
Thought:
All through scripture, God took those who were not qualified and gave
them a purpose, that without Him, they could never have accomplished.
Abraham, Moses, King David, Jonah and the list goes on. God breaks the
mold of our thinking concerning who we would choose. He even chose us.
So it makes perfect sense that Yeshua came for those who were sick.
However, if we look at those spiritually sick, we were all in that condition
until we accepted Yeshua.
Challenge:
Our challenge is to also go to those who are lost, those without hope, those
who have nowhere to turn to, and feed and nourish them, and minister
health to their body and spirit.
Prayer:
Lord, give me a compassionate spirit. May I too be willing to minister to
anyone and everyone. May ministering to everyone be a labor of love from
You. Let me see people as You see them. May I be part of people’s healing
process.

Saturday, May 21, 2022 (20 Iyar) Omer Day 35

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.
Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us
apart by Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.

Today is the 7th day of the 5th week and Day 35,
I have counted the Omer.

Theme: Healing Through Faith

Scriptures:
Matthew 9:22 But then Yeshua turned and saw her. “Take heart, daughter,” He
said, “your faith has made you well.” That very hour the woman was healed.
2 Kings 20:5-6 Return, and say to Hezekiah the leader of My people, thus
says ADONAI, the God of your father David: ‘I have heard your prayer and I
have seen your tears. Behold, I am going to heal you. On the third day you will
go up to the House of ADONAI. Then I will add 15 years to your life.
Numbers 21:9 So Moses made a bronze snake and put it on a pole, and it
happened that whenever a snake bit anyone and he looked at the bronze snake,
he lived.
Thought:
Faith alone did not make this women well. The power to heal came from
Yeshua. Her faith caused her to reach for Yeshua, believing that He can heal.
The same is concerning salvation. The vehicle is faith, but it’s powered by
Yeshua. Other times, in His great mercy, He healed those who had no faith and
later drew them to Himself. “The Bible recognizes no faith that does not lead to
obedience, nor does it recognize any obedience that does not spring from faith.
The two are at opposite sides of the same coin.” (A.W. Tozer)
Challenge:
It seems that we are always challenged with our level of faith. When we don’t
receive an answer to prayer, we have to go back to our Source, the Lord, God,
and ask Him for great faith so that we continue asking, continue acting, doing
everything in communion with His will.
Prayer:
Lord, help me build my faith in You regardless of the circumstances or my
perception of results that I don’t like. Faith comes from hearing Your Word,
(Romans 10:17) so help me stay in Your Word. Help me to continue to pray.
Increase my faith daily.
37
Sunday, May 22, 2022 (21 Iyar) Omer Day 36

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.

Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us
apart by Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.

Today is the 1st day of the 6th week and Day 36,
I have counted the Omer.

Theme: Healing Through Faith

Scriptures:
Matthew 9:37-38 Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but
the workers are few. Therefore pray to the Lord of the harvest that He may
send out workers into His harvest field
Jeremiah 3:15 I will give you shepherds after My own heart who will feed
you knowledge and understanding.
Jeremiah 1:4-5 The word of ADONAI came to me, saying: “Before I formed
you in the womb, I knew you, and before you were born, I set you apart—I
appointed you prophet to the nations.”
Thought:
Though the words in Jeremiah 1 we read about his calling from God. Each
of us have been known in our mother’s womb by God and each of us have a
mission to share God’s Word. Often, we don’t think we are good enough.
Sometimes, we just don’t feel like it. Other times, we don’t want to impose
on others. We might just be scared. These are our rationalizations for
disobeying God. God’s will for us to share His Word with others is
undeniable.
Challenge:
God is calling you and I to share His Word with others. Don’t have Jonah’s
reaction in verse 1-3: Now the word of ADONAI came to Jonah, son of
Amittai, saying: “Rise, go to the great city Nineveh and call out to her, for
their evil has risen before me.” “But Jonah rose to flee to Tarshish, from the
presence of ADONAI.” Our challenge is to run to the Lord and say, “Hineni”
– Here I am, send me!
Prayer:
Lord, help me obey You. I want to be an example of 2 Timothy 4:2,
proclaiming the Word! Being ready when it is convenient or inconvenient.
38
Monday, May 23, 2022 (22 Iyar) Omer Day 37

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.

Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us
apart by Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.

Today is the 2nd day of the 6th week and Day 37,
I have counted the Omer.
Theme: You’ve Been Given Authority
Scriptures:
Matthew 10:1 Yeshua summoned His twelve disciples and gave them authority
over unclean spirits, so they could drive them out and heal every kind of
disease and sickness.
1 Samuel 16:24 It came to pass, whenever the spirit from God came upon Saul,
David would take the harp and play it with his hand. So Saul would find relief
and feel better, as the evil spirit departed from him.
John 14:12 Amen, amen I tell you, he who puts his trust in Me, the works that
I do he will do; and greater than these he will do, because I am going to the
Father.
Thought:
One of the mysteries in God’s Word is the authority that we are given to do
even greater works than that of Yeshua. Because we haven’t seen many
examples of this authority in our own lives, we can either dismiss it, say it was
just for the disciples, or believe it by faith. I chose to believe that God meant
this for us literally. Faith is all about anticipating what we have not yet seen.
Challenge:
Pray with faith. Expect God to do amazing things thru you and I. Look for
His power to be demonstrated through our prayers.
Prayer:
Lord, the idea that I could do greater works than You is daunting to think
about. However, I don’t want to down play what is possible through You. I
pray that You open up my mind, heart, and spirit so that I could function at
full capacity of what You have promised me in Your Word.
39
Tuesday, May 24, 2022 (23 Iyar) Omer Day 38

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.
Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us
apart by Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.

Today is the 3rd day of the 6th week and Day 38,
I have counted the Omer.

Theme: Share With The House Of Israel

Scriptures:
Matthew 10:6-8 But go instead to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. As you
go, proclaim, ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near!’ Heal the sick, raise the
dead, cleanse those with tzara’at, drive out demons. Freely you received, freely
give.
Isaiah 52:7 How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of him who brings
good news, who announces shalom, who brings good news of happiness, who
announces salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns!
Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the Good News, for it is the power of
God for salvation to everyone who trusts—to the Jew first and also to the Greek
Thought:
Sharing our faith is a big part of scripture. We proclaim God’s Word, first to
the Jewish people, then to the world. Again, Yeshua tells us to heal the sick,
raise the dead and drive out demons. We must know that Yeshua has given us
this authority when He says: “freely you received, freely give”. I believe that
this year, God will show us salvations in our families, in our friends, and with
those people we meet. Know that Yeshua has sent us out, not only to the
Jewish people, but to everyone with whom we meet.
Challenge:
Our challenge is to believe, study to ready us, and then act. God has given us
a gift and to use it we must believe and then walk in our calling. Our Jewish
people and the world will say we are proselytizing. Ignore them—follow God!
Prayer:
Lord, give me a ministry that is effective in sharing about You. Help me
explain Your message in a way that attracts people, but also convicts them. Give
me the words to say, the scriptures to memorize, and the ability to touch
people no matter where they are at. Lord, I need an anointing from You.

Wednesday, May 25, 2022 (24 Iyar) Omer Day 39

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.
Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us
apart by Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.

Today is the 4th day of the 6th week and Day 39,
I have counted the Omer.

Theme: Endure To The End

Scriptures:
Matthew 10:22 And you will be hated by all because of My name, but the
one who endures to the end shall be saved.
Isaiah 66:5 Hear the word of ADONAI, you who tremble at His word: “Your
brothers who hated you, excluding you for My Name’s sake, have said,
‘Let ADONAI be glorified, that we may see your joy’—but they will be put to
shame.”
Daniel 12:13 But you, go your way till the end. You will rest and then at the
end of days you will arise to receive your portion
Thought:
“What then are we to do about our problems? We must learn to live with
them until such time as God delivers us from them. We must pray for grace
to endure them without murmuring. Problems patiently endured will work
for our spiritual perfecting. They harm us only when we resist them
or endure them unwillingly.” (A.W. Tozer) Endurance is a test of our faith
and focus.
Challenge:
For us to endure biblically, a number of things are required. We must focus
on God, rejoice in Him, and have hope because “we know that all things
work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to
His purpose”. (Romans 8:28)
Prayer:
Lord, help me keep my eyes on You when I am going through a season of
enduring. I want to have a spirit of joy because You are my first love.
(Dayenu – “it would have been enough” - meaning be grateful) Help me
to continue to minister to others, while enduring, with great compassion.

Thursday, May 26, 2022 (25 Iyar) Omer Day 40

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.
Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us
apart by Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.

Today is the 5th day of the 6th week and Day 40,
I have counted the Omer.

Theme: Be Bold
Scriptures:
Matthew 10:27-28 What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and
what you hear in your ear, proclaim from the housetops! And do not fear
those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Instead, fear the One who is
able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna.
Isaiah 41:10-11 Fear not, for I am with you, be not dismayed, for I am your
God. I will strengthen you. Surely I will help you. I will uphold you with My
righteous right hand. Behold, all who were angry at you will be ashamed and
disgraced. Those who quarrel with you will be as nothing and perish.
Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Chazak! Be strong! Do not be
terrified or dismayed, for ADONAI your God is with you wherever you go.
Thought:
“Fear is born of Satan, and if we would only take time to think a moment we
would see that everything Satan says is founded upon a falsehood.” (A.B.
Simpson) “Faith, which is trust, and fear are opposite poles. If a man has the
one, he can scarcely have the other in vigorous operation. He that has his
trust set upon God does not need to dread anything except the weakening or
the paralyzing of that trust.” (Alexander MacLaren)
Challenge:
God is calling us to be bold. Fear of sharing God’s Word is a lack of trusting
Him. Having the boldness to share God’s Word is proof of our faith.
Prayer:
Lord, I pray for the faith needed in order to share my faith with boldness. Do
a work in me so that I have no excuses or rationalizations. May I be a strong
witness of Your love and faithfulness.

Friday, May 27, 2022 (26 Iyar) Omer Day 41

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.
Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us
apart by Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.

Today is the 6th day of the 6th week and Day 41,
I have counted the Omer.

Theme: Acknowledge Yeshua

Scriptures:
Matthew 10:32 Therefore whoever acknowledges Me before men, I will also
acknowledge him before My Father who is in heaven.
Psalm 119:46 I will speak of Your testimonies before kings, and never be
ashamed.
1 Samuel 2:12 Now Eli’s sons were worthless men; they did
not acknowledge ADONAI.
Proverbs 3:6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths
straight.
Thought:
What a tremendous promise that as we acknowledge Yeshua before men,
Yeshua will acknowledge us before our Father.
Peter was asked three times if he knew Him and he said, “no”. It is easy to be
ashamed or embarrassed, especially when you realize how many people are
going to ridicule you for your faith. Our culture laughs at our faith in
Yeshua. However, we should be more concerned about being labeled
worthless by God, then silly by man.
Challenge:
Our challenge is to trust in the Lord so much, that our fears of being mocked
will be overridden by our desire to be obedient to the Lord. We have been
chosen by the Lord to stand up for Him daily to a dark and dying generation.
Prayer:
Lord, I pray 1 John 4:15 that I, my family, my congregation, and all those I get
to talk with would acknowledge that Yeshua is Ben-Elohim, for then God will
abide in them and they will abide in God. Lord, give us all the courage to
acknowledge and proclaim Your name.

Saturday, May 28, 2022 (27 Iyar) Omer Day 42

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.
Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us
apart by Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.

Today is the 7th day of the 6th week and Day 42,
I have counted the Omer.

Theme: Lose Your Life To Find It

Scriptures:
Matthew 10:38-39 And whoever does not take up his cross and follow after
Me isn’t worthy of Me. He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses
his life for My sake will find it.
Daniel 3:16-18 Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego replied to the king saying,
“O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to answer you concerning this matter.
If it is so, our God whom we serve is able to save us from the furnace of
blazing fire and He will deliver us out of your hand, O king. Yet even if He
does not, let it be known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods,
nor worship the golden image that you set up.”
Thought:
“Not all of us are called to die a martyr’s death, but all of us are called to
have the same spirit of self-sacrifice and love to the very end as these martyrs
had.” (Richard Wurmbrand) Taking up the cross is an act of complete
surrender. You are saying that you would die for Yeshua. Too often we
think it isn’t literal, but when we realize that we have to die to ourselves, we
realize Yeshua’s desire. We are to give up our rights in order to serve others.
We are to give up our rights in order to love our enemies and pray for them.
When we give unconditional love, we are carrying our cross daily.
Challenge:
Yeshua willingly took up His cross for us. Are we going to willingly give up
our desires in order to follow His agenda. Yeshua had a short journey as He
took up His cross. Our journey, taking up the cross, spans our life time.
Take up His cross daily by dying to yourself daily.
Prayer:
Lord, use my desire to take up my cross daily and help me turn it into my
normal behavior. Each situational difficulty requires me to turn to You for
motivation to die daily. Help me to have Yout joy and peace in the process.44
Sunday, May 29, 2022 (28 Iyar) Omer Day 43

Ba- ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.
Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us
apart by Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.

Today is the 1st day of the 7th week and Day 43,
I have counted the Omer.

Theme: Receive Yeshua, Receive The Father

Scriptures:
Matthew 10:40 He who receives you receives Me, and he who receives Me receives
the One who sent Me.
Isaiah 9:5-6 For to us a child is born, a son will be given to us, and the
government will be upon His shoulder. His Name will be called Wonderful
Counselor, Mighty God My Father of Eternity, Prince of Peace. Of the increase
of His government and shalom there will be no end—on the throne of David and
over His kingdom—to establish it and uphold it through justice and righteousness
from now until forevermore. The zeal of ADONAI-Tzva’ot will accomplish this.
Thought:
It’s always been about knowing Messiah so that we could become intimate with
God. It’s heartbreaking to watch people ignore the signs in scripture. God wants
us so much to seek Him and find Him. The Bible is the story of man’s history
and how God is there during it all, working for us. We finally get to the point
where we have atonement for our sins so we can approach the living God.
Yeshua made this possible and too many people can’t see it.
Challenge:
We are living in the time where God has begun to lift the veil from the hearts
and minds of our Jewish people. This is the time where people of the church are
studying their Bible and seeking to follow Him rather than tradition. We are
entering the time where even the secular people will need God. Are we ready to
be an ambassador for God? Are we ready with the amount of loving, patience,
and teaching that will be required?
Prayer:
Lord, ready me! Please take me from where I am and ready me for the harvest of
souls. I want to serve You. I want others to receive Yeshua, so that they
45 can know You!!
Monday, May 30, 2022 (29 Iyar) Omer Day 44

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.
Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us
apart by Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.

Today is the 2nd day of the 7th week and Day 44,
I have counted the Omer.

Theme: Repent
Scriptures:
Matthew 11:20 & 24 Then Yeshua began to denounce the towns where most
of His miracles had happened, because they did not turn from their sins…
Nevertheless I tell you that it will be more bearable for the land of Sodom
on the Day of Judgment than for you.
Proverbs 28:13 One who covers up his transgressions will not prosper, but
whoever confesses and forsakes them finds mercy.
2 Chronicles 7:14 when My people, over whom My Name is called, humble
themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their evil ways, then I
will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
Thought:
We are not God. Our place has always been to humble ourselves before our
Maker and turn from our sins, because He cares for us. (1 Peter 5:6-7) “If
you find a reluctancy to go into the presence of God, there may be
unconfessed, unrepented sin in your life. Part of your quiet time is to get
your heart clean and pure. Each of us needs to take ourselves by the nap of
our necks and confess and repent before we come into God's holy presence to
fellowship.” (Adrian Rogers)
Challenge:
If you desire to come into the presence of the almighty God, you will repent
daily. Make sure your desire for God is greater than your fear of
transparency. Your identity is in God!
Prayer:
Father, it’s scary to admit my sins and be that open with anyone, including
You. Please help me trust You more than any of my fears or concerns. May
I come to You with full transparency.

Tuesday, May 31, 2022 (1 Sivan) Omer Day 45

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.

Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us
apart by Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.

Today is the 3rd day of the 7th week and Day 45,
I have counted the Omer.

Theme: It’s All About Yeshua

Scriptures:
Matthew 11:27 All things have been handed over to Me by My Father. No
one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except
the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal Him.
Isaiah 42:6-7 I, ADONAI, called You in righteousness, I will take hold of
Your hand, I will keep You and give You as a covenant to the people, as a
light to the nations, by opening blind eyes, bringing prisoners out of the
dungeon, and those sitting in darkness out of the prison house.
Thought:
Jesus is not one of many ways to approach God, nor is He the best of several
ways; He is the only way. (A.W. Tozer) It’s a miracle; God called us to
receive Yeshua so that we would know Him personally. Yeshua has all
authority and yet provides us the nourishment after we come to Him - for
out of our innermost being will flow rivers of living water. (John 7:38) His
desire is that we would be in unity, just as He and the Father are one, so that
the world would know Him. (John 17:21)
Challenge:
There is no greater love than what Yeshua did for us – laying down His life.
Our challenge is to live for Him, to sacrifice for Him, to love everyone for
Him and to exalt Him.
Prayer:
Fill me up Lord to overflow with Your love, Your compassion, Your vision,
and everything You want for me to be. I want to represent You completely.
I want You to be able to say: “well done, good and faithful servant”.
(Matthew 25:21)

Wednesday, June 1, 2022 (2 Sivan) Omer Day 46

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.
Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us
apart by Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.
Theme: Come To Me
Today is the 4th day of the 7th week and Day 46,
I have counted the Omer.

Scriptures:
Matthew 11:28-30 Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I
will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am
gentle and humble in heart, and ‘you will find rest for your souls.’ For
My yoke is easy and My burden is light.
Jeremiah 6:16 Thus says ADONAI: “Stand in the roads and look. Ask for the
ancient paths—where the good way is—and walk in it. Then you will find
rest for your souls.
Thought:
“God is God. Because He is God, He is worthy of my trust and obedience. I
will find rest nowhere but in His holy will, a will that is unspeakably
beyond my largest notions of what He is up to.” (Elisabeth Elliot) Yeshua
brings comfort, rest and peace. We need to come to Him. He will lighten
our concerns. He has always told us to come to Him. Abraham, Moses,
King David, Daniel, they all needed Him. There is no reason to not come to
Him and make Him your Master and the King of your life.
Challenge:
That is our challenge. Invite the Lord to be King of your life. Your daily
relationship with Him will lessen the load of difficulties and give you
answers which will direct your life. The challenge is to do it daily and
faithfully. God will do the rest.
Prayer:
Lord, I have messed up. Often, when I have messed up, I have left You.
However, this time, I will repent and come to Your throne of grace. You
have told me that Your grace is sufficient for power is made perfect in
weakness. So I am coming to You because I believe when weak, then in You
I will be strong. (2 Corinthians 12:9-10)

Thursday, June 2, 2022 (3 Sivan) Omer Day 47

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.
Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us
apart by Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.

Today is the 5th day of the 7th week and Day 47,
I have counted the Omer.

Theme: Show Mercy

Scriptures:
Matthew 12:10-12 A man with a withered hand was there. And so that they
might accuse Him, they questioned Yeshua, saying, “Is it permitted to heal
on Shabbat?” He said to them, “What man among you will not grab his sheep
and lift it out, if it falls into a pit on Shabbat? How much more valuable then
is a man than a sheep! Therefore it is permitted to do good on Shabbat.”
Micah 6:8 He has told you, humanity, what is good, and what ADONAI is
seeking from you: Only to practice justice, to love mercy, and to walk humbly
with your God.
Isaiah 32:6 For the fool speaks foolishness and his heart works wickedness, to
practice ungodliness, and speak error about ADONAI, to deprive the hungry of
food and withhold drink from the thirsty.
Thought:
Sometimes it is the religious that mistake what God says in His Word. The
wrong spirit concludes the wrong understanding of God’s Word. God is clear
that He wants us to first be loving and show mercy. Those who are not
believers often mention that it was a believer who drove them away from faith.
We will show our love for God when we show all people His love and His mercy.
Challenge:
Our training in our culture also leads us to wrong thinking and then wrong
conclusions. We need the power of God’s Spirit to turn from our common
sense in order to promote God’s sense. Unfortunately, God’s wisdom can be
counter-intuitive. Our challenge is to let God’s Word challenge our
understanding of right and wrong in order to develop His understanding.
Prayer:
Lord, help me seek Your direction, Your wisdom, Your compassion and Your
49 mercy. May the power of Your Spirit reside in me to become more like You.
Friday, June 3, 2022 (4 Sivan) Omer Day 48

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.
Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us
apart by Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.

Today is the 6th day of the 7th week and Day 48,
I have counted the Omer.

Theme: Unite With Yeshua

Scriptures:
Matthew 12:25 & 30 Knowing their thoughts, Yeshua said to them, “Every
kingdom divided against itself is destroyed, and every city or house divided
against itself will not stand… He who is not with Me is against Me, and he
who does not gather with Me scatters.
Joshua 24:15 If it seems bad to you to worship ADONAI, then choose for
yourselves today whom you will serve—whether the gods that your fathers
worshipped that were beyond the River or the gods of the Amorites in whose
land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will worship ADONAI!
Psalm 133:1 & 3 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to
dwell together in unity!...It is like the dew of Hermon, coming down upon
the mountains of Zion. For there ADONAI commanded the blessing
—life forevermore!
Thought:
“Love as distinct from "being in love" is not merely a feeling. It is a
deep unity, maintained by the will and deliberately strengthened by habit;
reinforced by the grace which both partners ask, and receive from God. They
can have this love for each other even at those moments when they do not
like each other; as you love yourself even when you do not like yourself.”
(C.S. Lewis) Unity with Yeshua will automatically make us become gatherers!
Challenge:
Unity is difficult to achieve. It requires sacrificing our own desires and
preferring the desires of others. It requires us to unify under what is most
important, Yeshua”, and allow less important things not to cause division.
Prayer:
Father, Your will, not my own. Your desire is that we should be one. Help
me desire and apply all that is necessary to obey Your will. Give me the
spiritual and emotional strength to carry it out. 50
Saturday, June 4, 2022 (5 Sivan) Omer Day 49

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.

Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us
apart by Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.

Today is the 7th day of the 7th week and Day 49,
I have counted the Omer.

Theme: God Will Judge Our Words

Scriptures:
Matthew 12:36-37 But I tell you that on the Day of Judgment, men will give ac-
count for every careless word they speak. For by your words you will be justi-
fied, and by your words you will be condemned.
Proverbs 13:3 He who watches his mouth protects his life, but whoever opens
wide his lips comes to ruin.
Proverbs 10:19 When words abound, transgression is unavoidable.
Proverbs 17:27 One with knowledge restrains his words, and a discerning person
stays calm.
Proverbs 29:20 Do you see someone hasty in his words? There is more hope for a
fool than him.
Thought:
“There is nothing more impotent than words which lie dormant in our brains
and have no influence on our lives.” (Alexander MacLaren)
“Kind words produce their own image in men's souls; and a beautiful image it is.
They soothe and quiet and comfort the hearer. They shame him out of his sour,
morose, unkind feelings. We have not yet begun to use kind words in such abun-
dance as they ought to be used.” (Blaise Pascal) Our words are powerful. God
will judge how we used that power!
Challenge:
Our daily challenge is to use the fruit of the Spirit to direct our choice of
words: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness,
and when all else fails, self-control!!
Prayer:
“May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable
51 before You, ADONAI, my Rock and my Redeemer.” (Psalm 19:15)
Sunday, June 5, 2022 (6 Sivan) Omer Day 50

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech ha-o-lam,

a-sher kid-sha-nu b’-mitz-vo-tav v’-tzi-va-nu al s’-fi-rat ha-o-mer.
Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has set us
apart by Your commandments and has commanded us to count the Omer.

Today is the 50th day, and I have counted the Omer!

Baruch HaShem, it is Shavuot!

Theme: Do God’s Will

Scriptures:
Matthew 12:50 For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven, he is My
brother and sister and mother.”
Ecclesiastes 12:14 God will bring every deed into judgment, including
everything that is hidden, whether it is good or evil.
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in ADONAI with all your heart, lean not on your own
understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your
paths straight.
James 4:17 Therefore whoever knows the right thing to do and does not do
it—for him it is sin.
Thought:
“God's ways will frequently baffle us but God's will is sufficiently clear to lead
us in the meantime. God's ways may not be clear but our way is - at least
enough of it to know what obedience requires.”(Dale Ralph Davis) We have a
choice: do it, not do it, or find an excuse or rationalization. God’s will is clear:
love God and love your neighbor, “The entire Torah and the Prophets hang
on these two commandments.” (Matthew 22:40)
Challenge:
Often times we make things complicated by talking about the law when
discussing God’s will. However, though the law is important, doing God’s will
begins with loving Him and loving all people with whom we come in contact.
That is the basis of Yeshua’s prayer in John 17. Our challenge is to love God
and people daily, moment by moment, continuously and forever!!
Prayer:
Lord, as Your disciple, I want to love the way You love. I want to see people
through Your eyes. I want to be seen as someone who loves in all
circumstances through the power of Your Spirit working in me. 52
