LABORATORY EXERCISE №21-22

Creation of video files with use of programs: Hyper Gam, Adobe Premiere Pro, Windows
Movie Maker, etc.

Task1. Creation of movie clip

Step by step:
1. Start Windows Movie Maker.

Open Windows Movie Maker. A standard path: "C: \ Program Files \ Movie Maker \
moviemk.exe". You can run program using a shortcut or from the Start menu.
2. When you start the program creates a new project, Save it (File → Save Project).

NOTE. Windows Movie Maker project file has an extension .MSWMM. This file does not
contain the fragments of video, graphics and music that you use in the project, it only contains
links to these files, so until the completion of the film is undesirable turn-schat or delete the
imported files that do not violate the referential integrity of draft.
3. With Import video Import images Import audio or music upload files in the project that

you chose for the clip. These files are placed in the working window of the program, in the
"Collections" section.
4. Create the title of the movie

NOTE.If there is no panel "Operations with movies" on the left, corner click on the toolbar
button "Operations" (in the figure below, it is highlighted in red):
In the section "Installation of the film" select "Create names and titles" and next step – choose:
“Add name at the beginning of the movie".

Enter the name in the text box. In the preview window you can see how it will look when
playing. Click "Finish, Hosting Project add-in of the film" - the name of the clip appears in the
Storyboard pane at the bottom of the program window. Title animation, text color and font can
be changed by clicking the appropriate link in the same window.
5. Place pictures on the storyboard panel
Drag an image from the Collection to the Storyboard pane, set on the timeline, after all of our
titles, right click on the image, select the Video Effects option from the context menu and set any
effect, with which the selected photo will be displayed.

6. To add transition effects between images. Open the "Options" from section 2.”Installation of
the film”, select "View video transitions". Choosing the right transition and drag it to the
storyboard panel, between the first and second image.
7. Add Music or sounds to your movie clip
1) Under the Capture Video link, choose Import audio or music.
2) Locate the folder containing your audio file.
3) Select the audio file you wish to import.
4) Change the type of storyboard panels to the timeline and drag the selected audio track from
the Collection of the panel on the proper track storyboard panels - "Sounds and Music"
The volume of sound can be adjusted using the button to the left of the microphone icon. In
addition, you can make a gradual increase in the volume function Fade In or sound attenuation
function Fade Out
NOTE. Audio files have their own location in the Timeline to keep them separate from pictures
or video clips. This makes it easier to manipulate either type of file. To disable the sound
recorded a video camera on a scale Audio right-click and select the Mute function.

8. Shorten an Audio Clip. Hover the mouse over the end of the music clip until it becomes a
two-headed arrow. Drag the end of the music clip to the left to line up with the last picture.
NOTE. In some instances, you will have to drag the end of the music clip several times to reach
the beginning of the movie due to its size. It iseasier to do this if you zoom in on the timeline so
that there is not so much dragging. The Zoom tools are located at the bottom left side of the
screen, to the left of the Storyboard / Timeline.
9. Add Titles and Credits. There are several ways to insert titles and captions in a movie.
You can add text information in different places of the film: at the beginning or end of the film to
the beginning or end of a clip, or between clips. It should be borne in mind that if you add text to
the beginning or end of the film, he plays a certain time. When you add a title or ending of the
film, you can change the text color, font, size, animation.

NOTE. When you insert text data into a movie, it is very important: specify the location of the
text in the movie, enter the text, select the animation effect that specifies the way to the
appearance of text, select a font and text color. Keep in mind that you can set the time parameter
retention of text on the screen, a simple stretching icon text fragment.
10. To view the result, use the preview window on the right side. You can also navigate

through the timeline at a specific point of the clip using the slider on the timeline.
11. Save as a Movie. Now that your movie is complete, you may wish to save the project in

a different format. Saving the project and saving the movie are two different things. The movie
project is the working file so that you may continue to edit until you have a final version of your
work completed. The movie file is the final output of your movie. Windows Movie Maker
compresses all the parts of your movie into a single unit. The file size is much smaller so that it
can be used on a web site or emailed. You also have the option to create a CD or DVD of your
movie. These options are all under the heading Finish Movie. It is always a good idea to keep
your project file readily available. You cannot edit a compressed movie file.

1. Multimedia devices that allow you to present information in audio and video.Multimedia
programs are software tools that allow processing audio and video information.

The area where projects are created and mounted is displayed in two ways: on the storyboard and
on the timeline. In the process of creating a movie, you can switch between these two views.
Storyboard
The storyboard is the default view in Windows Movie Maker. The storyboard can be used to
view and change the sequence of project clips. In addition, you can view all the added video
effects and video transitions in this view.

Time Scale
The timeline allows you to view and change the time parameters of project clips.
Using the buttons on the timeline, you can perform operations such as changing the project view,
increasing or decreasing project details, recording a comment, or adjusting the sound level. To
cut unwanted parts of a clip, use the editing markers that
are displayed when you select a clip. The project defines all the clips displayed on the timeline.

Video
The video track lets you know which video clips, images, or titles have been added to the
project. You can expand the video track to display the corresponding

video soundtrack, as well as all added video transitions. If you add video effects to an image,
video, or title, a small icon will appear on the clips indicating that a video effect has been added
to this clip.

Audio
The audio track allows you to view the sound that is included in all video clips added to the
project. Like the transition track, the audio track is displayed only if the video track is expanded.
