A. Care during labor B. Care During Delivery

1. State the difference between the two results (Care during labor and Care During Delivery) (10
points)
• In my understanding, the difference between the results of Care During Labor and Care During
Delivery is that they do not have the same internal consistency of Cronbach’s alpha. Based on the
rule of thumb, a Cronbach’s alpha below 0.7 is considered poor and not acceptable or reliable, while
if it is in the range of 0.70 to 0.95 is considered to be reliable. Since the results or the internal
consistency of questions in Care During Labor are all found to be good, then there are no questions
that need to be deleted. While the questions under Care During Delivery are unacceptable,
therefore all of the questions should be deleted.

2. Are there items in the two results that you need to delete? Justify your answer with
supporting literature. (10 points)
A. CARE DURING LABOR
• As mentioned above, since the results of the questions under Care During Labor are all found to
be good, there are no questions to be deleted. According to Arafat (2016), when interpreting
Cronbach’s Alpha (α), it ranges from 0 to 1. A value of ≥0.70 reflects good reliability. Although there
are no questions to be deleted, there is still a need for further studies to improve the internal
consistency of the instrument aimed at the organization of integrated systems for care to gestation,
childbirth, and birth (Coluci et al., 2015).

B. CARE DURING DELIVERY

•According to a study by Daud et al., (2018), if the value of the Cronbach Alpha is at 0.60 and below,
then it would mean that the instrument has a low reliability and it’s unacceptable. However, if the
value of Cronbach Alpha is within the range of 0.60 to 0.80, then it is considered to be moderate
and acceptable. Since the results and the internal consistency of questions under Care During
Delivery are all in the poor and unacceptable range, then I believe all of the questions should be
deleted.
