Administrative structure of India

What is Role of Municipal Corporation


Municipal Corporation can be understood as the local yet urban government.
n India, there can be other names Nagar Palika, City Corporation, Mahanagar Palika, Nagar Nigam etcetera.
Municipal governments can be described as authorities that are autonomous in nature.
Municipal Corporation has to deliver functions (perform several different significant functions. )
As per the section 63 and 66 of the Bombay Provincial Municipal Corporation Act,
he AMC is responsible for certain obligatory and discretionary services.
Obligatory Services
• Erection of boundary of city defining city limits.
• Watering, Scavenging and Cleansing of all public streets and places Sewage services
• Drainage services Fire services
• Health & Medical services
• Street Lighting services
• Maintenance of a monuments & open spaces Identification of streets & houses
• Regulation and abatement of offensive and dangerous trades or practices Maintenance of burial houses and funeral homes
• Construction or acquisition of public markets and slaughter houses Construction or acquisition of cattle-pounds

booth for receiving complains from public and all they were used to remain present at booths from 8 am to 9 am
• All Asst. Engineers were present at the concern booths from 8 am to 9 am
• From 9 am to 12 noon all were on field for resolving complains, site visit of development works as well as
councilors round
• From 2.30 pm to 6.10 pm all AE, ACEs, DyCEs, AddCEs were used to work at Zonal and Subzonal offices

All Complains are received through Online
All None Technical Supervisors , Technical Supervisors , Aes,
Aes ACEs , DyCEs, Add.Ces of Road, Water, Manhole,
Nanhi Trap, Building departments should visit all roads from 7 am to 9 am
All Concerns staffs will take some refreshments and Further shall be on field for resolving complains, site visit of
development works as well as councilors round
