Size
The finished crochet Fox will be approximately 10 cm tall
Materials
Yarn Fine Weight Cotton (I used Yarn Art Jeans 50g/ 160m)
Black embroidery thread for nose
3.0 mm crochet hook
Two black beads or you can embroider eyes with black thread
Fiberfill for stuffing
Tapestry needle
Stitch marker
Abbreviations
R= row/ round
MR= magic ring
ch= chain
sc= single crochet
sts= stitches
sl st= slip stitch
inc= increase
inv.dec= invisible decrease
()*- repeat till the end of the round or repeat several times
[]- total number of stitches in the round
Head
Work in continuous rounds (a spiral), using the stitch marker.
Start with a magic ring
R1: 6sc into the MR [6sts]
R2: 2sc in each st around [12sts]
R3: (1sc in next st, 2sc in next st)* repeat around [18sts]
R4: (sc in next 2sts, 2sc in next st)* repeat around [24sts]
R5-8 sc in each st around [24sts]
R9: (sc in next 2sts, inv.dec)* repeat around [18sts]
R10: (1sc in next st, inv.dec)* repeat around [12sts]
Stuff the head firmly. Fasten off and cut the yarn.
Ears x 2
Make a magic ring
R1: 6sc into the circle [6sts]
R2: sc in each st around [6sts]
R3: (1sc in next st, 2sc in next st)* repeat 3 times [9sts]
R4: sc in each st around [9sts]
Fasten off leaving a long tail to sew onto the head.
Muzzle
Using a white yarn
Make a magic ring
R1: 6sc into the MR [6sts]
R2: (1sc in next st; 2sc in next st)* repeat around [9sts]
R3: (sc in next 2sts, 2sc in next st)* repeat around [12sts]
Fasten off and leave a long end for sewing onto the face.
Embroider the nose with black thread before sewing to the face.
Arms (make 2)
Starting with black yarn
Make a magic ring
R1: 6sc into the MR [6sts]
R2-4: sc in each st around [6sts]
Change the color to orange
R5-6: sc in each st around [6sts]
Stuff very slightly only beginning of the arm and fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing.
Leg#2
Crochet the second leg the same way, but do not cut the yarn. Make a Ch5, join the second
leg to the first leg (put a marker on the last chain as a new end of the round and continue
crocheting).
R4: 9sc in the first leg, 5sc in a chain of Ch5, 9sc in the second leg, 5sc in a chain of Ch5.
Getting 28sts.
R5-10: sc in each st around [28sts]
R11: (1sc in next st, inv.dec)* repeat 9 times, 1sc in last st [19sts]
Start stuffing and continue to the end.
R12: (sc in next 2sts, inv.dec)* repeat 4 times, 1sc in next st, inv.dec [14sts]
R13: sc in next 2sts, inv.dec, sc in next 5sts, inv.dec, sc in next 3sts [12sts]
R14: sc in each st around [12sts]
Fasten off and leave a long end to sew the body with the head later. Stuff the body well.
Tail
With white yarn
Make a magic ring
R1: 6sc into the MR [6sts]
R2: sc in each st around [6sts]
R3: (1sc in next st, 2sc in next st)* repeat around [9sts]
With orange yarn
R4: (sc in next 2sts, 2sc in next st)* repeat around [12sts]
R5: (sc in next 3sts, 2sc in next st)* repeat around [15sts]
R6-8: sc in each st around [15sts]
R9: (sc in next 3sts, inv.dec)* repeat around [12sts]
R10: (sc in next 2sts, inv.dec)* repeat around [9sts]
Stuff the tail.
R11: (1sc in next st, inv.dec)* repeat around [6sts]
R12: sc in each st around [6sts]
Fasten off and leave a long end to sew to the body.
Assembly
1. Sew the head to the body.
2. Sew the ears onto the head.
3. Embroider the nose using black thread, then sew the muzzle onto the face.
4. Embroider eyes with black thread.
5. Sew arms on sides of the body.
6. Sew the tail on the back of the body.
