DO THIS ACTIVITY:
Electrical hazards
Poisoning hazards
Fire Hazards
Falls
Sharp objects
Hazards are everywhere, and you can't eliminate them all, but you can learn how to avoid
them. Education is the best tool for preventing accidents in any place, like our home. Training,
proper equipment, proper maintenance, proper use, constant awareness of the problems, and
the removal or avoidance of the hazards are all required to reduce the likelihood of these
hazards.
In terms of electrical hazards, almost all of us have electricity in our homes, so it's undenying
to say that we don’t have this kind of hazard in our homes. So for electrical hazards, it is
important to keep the electrical devices in their proper positions, then replace all old switches,
outlet plugs, wiring, and lighting fixtures if needed. Then, commonly, we say that you shouldn’t
touch electrical wires when your hands are wet, which is actually true to prevent being
electrified as water can easily adopt electricity.
In terms of poisoning hazards, don’t eat or drink if you don’t check the label first. Then, keep
things that are poisonous away, or lock them up to prevent children from reaching them, and
don’t put dangerous liquids or chemicals into other bottles that are not marked with the names
of those liquids.
To avoid fire hazards, if you use candles, make sure they are not close to anything flammable,
like curtains or hair, and keep them on a saucer to catch hot wax drips. Keep cloth items away
from the stovetop.
To avoid falling or being stripped, do not walk away while the oil is still heating. Keep things
clean and tidy and put them away so they don’t get tripped over. Greasy spills should be
cleaned up immediately, just as with soap, shampoo, conditioner, or lotions, which are very
slippery.
Keep all dangerous items, such as sharp objects like knives and blades, and whatever else
could hurt a child, out of their reach. By doing this in our home, potential hazards will be
reduced.
ACTIVITY II – DRAW ME AS YOU CAN
Name: Elijah Jonathan C. Mateo Course: BSCE 1A Time: Time: 8:00-11:00 AM, SAT
Covid-19 Hazard
- As we are still battling the COVID-19 pandemic at this time, we should always
remember to wear face masks, sanitize our hands, and then observe proper
distancing.
Flood
- Flooding is unusually likely in this barangay, and it is usually not very strong. Floods
in this barangay are common during heavy rains, and the sewage system in this
area is incapable of handling the floods, so water always enters every home. It is
better that the community work to prevent these minor issues that we experience.
Overall, there is no need to worry about it.
Earthquake
- Earthquakes are common in Mati City, as we know that it has several fault lines. The
earthquakes that we experience in Barangay Dahican are not that strong, but it is
better to know about basic things to do during and after an earthquake, like duck,
cover, and hold.
Tsunami
- We have been preparing for a tsunami after a strong earthquake, and because
Dahican is near the coast, we should know where we are going if this might happen,
like to higher places.
Road Hazard
- The roads in Barangay Dahican are not particularly safe because some are rough,
some are only gravel, and some have bumpy edges and uneven expansion joints,
particularly the roads from 7-11 to Subangan. Therefore, we should read the signage
to be aware of these issues.
DO THIS ACTIVITY:
Instruction: With the participation of your relative or family member, perform CPR
and bleeding wound treatment as emergency action steps which are necessary to be
acquired as student of NSTP. Use any video recording applications to record your
output.

ACTIVITY 1:
Environmental Issues
Direction:
Here are some of the Environmental Issues that we currently experienced in Philippines
Brief Discussion:
Very hot weather caused by climate change can even burn your skin which is extremely
dangerous.
Sample Photos:
Possible Solutions:
To address this issue, people should reduce their use of fossil fuels and encourage the use of
renewable energy; they should then plant trees; practice sustainable agriculture and forest
management; and practice responsible consumption and recycling.
Brief Discussion:
Land pollution is caused by scattered garbage due to irresponsible people throwing their
garbage everywhere.
Sample Photos:
Possible Solutions:
To address this issue, the government should impose a law to punish irresponsible people for
throwing their garbage or any waste in the wrong place. People will learn how to properly
dispose of their waste and have it segregated correctly.
Brief Discussion:
Sample Photos:
Possible Solutions:
To solve this issue, people must stop littering and throwing trash everywhere. If this continues,
polluted sewage will flow directly into the ocean, endangering any marine life there and
threatening our food supply.
Brief Discussion:
Living things perish as a result of polluted seas brought on by careless and improper waste
and garbage disposal.
Sample Photos:
Possible Solutions:
Due to the fact that we are all affected, people should act responsibly. People still don't listen,
so the government should work on this. To preserve the ocean and marine life, the government
should enact stringent regulations about this.
Sample Photos:
Possible Solutions:
The government should not allow illegal mining corporations to operate in a certain area; even
if there are mining operations that are legalized by the government, the miners should be held
responsible for the damage that they may cause to the environment, and therefore they should
be required to rehabilitate the area after they operate.
Brief Discussion:
Typhoons are becoming more powerful due to climate change, making them more harmful
and destructive.
Sample Photos
Possible Solutions:
It is evident that climate change causes typhoons to be much stronger. Therefore, to solve
this issue, we know that we cannot stop climate change, but we can limit it by using renewable
energy, stopping the burning of fossil fuels, stopping the burning of plastics, and then planting
more trees.
Sample Photos
Possible Solutions:
To prevent biodiversity loss and the more severe extinction of species such as endemic and
threatened avifauna, the government should impose stricter rules, and people should try to
respect all other species as they are not the only inhabitants of this planet.
DO THIS ACTIVITY:
Direction: Each student shall require to make a slogan which is related to the
topic - “Environmental Protection”.
ACTIVITY 2. ESSAY WRITING
Direction:
Everything you do today affects something else, which affects something else,
and so on. All change is evidence of not only cause-and-effect, but everything that
exists today had to come from somewhere, and in the beginning it was all in one place.
So, temporally speaking, everything is connected over time.
Think about starting to recalibrate our minds to the issue that we are facing
today, about climate change. Consider how your actions, whether good or bad, will
have consequences, resulting in either good or bad outcomes. Observing current
events, climate change always strikes in every part of the global community, causing
many people to suffer from a lack of food, a polluted environment, a lack of shelter,
and, at its worst, many people to die. While others are unconcerned about what they
are doing, they are dumping garbage and waste, engaging in illegal mining,
contributing to deforestation, and burning an excessive amount of fossil fuel. As global
warming and climate change are happening, many people, including the innocent, are
suffering because of other people's irresponsibility and misuse of the natural resources
given to us.
