Motivation Before we proceed to our discussion for

sources of social, cultural, and political change. With this
knowledge, you will have a full grasp of why societies change, and
what are the coping mechanisms of humanities in order to
respond to the fast-changing society. Also, it is important to note
that you as a member of society are able to prepare yourself to
cope up to those changes because coping mechanism are based
on societal/individual identities.

Teacher: Before we proceed to our discussion for today, let us first


have a short game. The game will be called “4 Pics One Word”. Are
you familiar with that game? Okay, Class I will post the pictures
on the board then I will call several students to guess the words.

Teacher: Each group will be given a different case study. You will
analyze the causes, effects, and possible solutions to the
challenge presented in the case study.
Teacher: I will divide you into 4 groups and provide you with a
contemporary challenge faced by human populations. You will
analyze the causes, effects, and possible solutions to the
challenge presented.

Teacher: You will have 5 minutes to analyze the case study and
identify the causes, effects, and possible solutions to the
challenge and 10 minutes for the presentation.
As you work on this activity, I want you to keep in mind the
values of unity and teamwork.

Teacher: There are several new challenges that human


populations face in contemporary societies. These challenges can
be categorized into five types: social, economic, environmental,
political, and cultural.

Teacher:
For social challenges, we have issues like

Economic challenges
 Unemployment
 low wages
 inflation.
Environmental challenges
 climate change
 deforestation
 pollution
Political challenges
 conflicts
 terrorism
 corruption
Cultural challenges
 identity
 diversity
 tolerance

Teacher: The impact of these challenges can be felt at different


levels. For example, poverty affects individuals by limiting their
access to basic needs like food, shelter, and education. It also
affects communities and nations by hindering economic growth
and development.

Teacher: The causes of these challenges are complex and varied,


ranging from human activities to external factors like climate
change.
B. Generalization Teacher: So, based on my discussion what do you think are some
of the challenges that you are experiencing now? Can you site
some challenges?

Teacher: Great, those are all important challenges. Now, let's take Student 3: Mental health issues

way.

towards addressing them.
