I got this error code 03-57-00 on one of my Xbox 360 games, but all my other games work fine. The disc looks a little scratched up. I have tried Microsoft's suggestions, and cleaned it with a solvent. Is there any way to fix the disc or should I replace it? Messages 8,249 Reaction score 3,368 Points 1,680 Sounds like a laser, but does it freeze without
starting a game at all. And no offense, but if you can't troubleshoot this by your self, probably shouldn't perform the kamikaze.
You will ruin it quicker them ****. Messages 264 Reaction score 25 Points 70 Hi. Thanks for your reply. I have done all methods involving the software side for troubleshooting. No, the xbox does not freeze without a game. I just want to make sure if its the laser or the cpu/gpu as I have heard this can happen due to overheating issues. Also disc is
unreadable on battlefield 4 only so I'm not quite sure if its a laser issue? (Same disc works in my other console) Messages 8,249 Reaction score 3,368 Points 1,680 If it doesn't freeze without the game it doesn't seem like a cpu/gpu issue. I would try the laser. Messages 264 Reaction score 25 Points 70 Ok thanks. I will try the laser, but before that do
you think i should give pot tweaking a go? Messages 8,249 Reaction score 3,368 Points 1,680 You can try, but I never really have luck with pot tweaking slims. It's more of a phat thing. Messages 264 Reaction score 25 Points 70 Ok so i have bought a drive (used) that is out of a slim console same as mine. The version and everything is exactly the
same. How do I swap this from my old to new?

I want to do a straight swap then swap keys. How do I do that please?

Thanks Messages 264 Reaction score 25 Points 70 Ok what i did was the solder method. Took my original pcb off and put it into the new drive and then soldered wires together.
When i put it on it gave me a open tray error when i put games in. What could it be? Messages 8,249 Reaction score 3,368 Points 1,680 It could be a crossed wire or loose connection. But could still be a bad laser. Messages 264 Reaction score 25 Points 70 I will check out the wires.
Its a good laser because i got it out of a working xbox (its banned online but dont think that would make a difference) Also the other pcb which i swapped for my old drive, i put it in the banned cbox and its the same (works but doesnt play battlefield 4) Messages 5,012 Reaction score 1,154 Points 565 did u check the type and everything ? u cant just
take 1 out from the other and put it into the other. they must be 100% exactly same Messages 264 Reaction score 25 Points 70 Thanks HuskerHeaven, got it all sorted and works like a charm. Had a loose cable so soldered it and its all good. T3DDY, my drives are exactly the same just different firmware versions. I swapped my old drive for a new drive
but left old PCB inside as it had my keys on there. Im ready to do a kamakaze now lol. Anything i should know and be aware of? Messages 8,249 Reaction score 3,368 Points 1,680 Follow the tut exactly and drill slow. It's better for it to take 10 minutes then to killyour board. Use the template if you can.
Messages 264 Reaction score 25 Points 70 Im getting really confused now. What do i need to do to flash my slim drive?
Its a phillips / lite-on 16D4S Firmware version: 0225 and made in january 2011. I have the latest version of dashboard installed. I am reading some tutorials and they are saying i need a new pcb but i thought the 05 winbond chips dont need a new pcb etc??
What would i need to do? Messages 8,249 Reaction score 3,368 Points 1,680 Correct, you don't need a new pcb. If you mess the kamikaze up you will.
You do need to make sure if your using sata that yourbchipset supports it. Try slimkey and see if it dumps your key to check. Messages 264 Reaction score 25 Points 70 Thanks for clearing that up. I dont have all these expensive tools like the usbpro or ck etc etc. I am thinking of putting a sata cable directly to my mother board and powering my drive
by using my xbox (I will take the internal 4gb memory out just in case it trys saving any logs) Should i also put my av cable in so my xbox doesnt sleep? Or shall i leave it out and try to do the hack within 5 mins? Thanks Messages 8,249 Reaction score 3,368 Points 1,680 If it does save logs, it wouldn't be to the internal memory. And I wouldn't count on
it being done in 5 minutes. Keep the av cords in. Messages 264 Reaction score 25 Points 70 Lol i will do. I have an old windows xp tower pc that i am going to use. How will i know if the chipset is compatible and is there a download for the VIA drivers? Messages 8,249 Reaction score 3,368 Points 1,680 Check nooberts tut in the flashing section. I
believe he has a download with everything needed. And once all the drivers are installt, hit slimkey in jungleflasher. If it dumps you drive info, you should be good. I read that your disc title seems to maintain the same orientation even after inserting a disc. The Xbox 360 should automatically spin up to read the disc, so this could either indicate the
unit isn't sensing that the tray is closed or your motor may be faulty. Retuning the Laser Diode Potentiometer A laser needs to be supplied power at an optimum voltage range in order to work properly. Too little, and it can't properly reflect light off the disc to read it. Too much, and it will burn out. The following procedure will ensure your laser is
tuned properly to read discs.
Take Xbox 360 unit apart (VOIDS WARRANTY, but it's likely expired) Use a digital multimeter to measure the laser's DVD potentiometer and adjust if neccessary Test the cleanest, least scratched disc you have available Fractions of a degree are the difference between a proper setting and burning out your laser diode, which is why a digital
multimeter is neccessary! The pictures in the guide above aren't showing up, but I can't post clarifying ones because of my limited privileges as a new user here. A Google Image search will help to find the proper measuring points for your specific disc drive model. This picture outlines the various disc drive versions between Xbox 360 models:
