Bird flu is the disease caused by the infection of type A avian (bird) influenza (flu)
virus. This virus is found naturally among waterfowl around the world and can infect

Avian influenza: H10N3: the first human case of infection with this strain of bird flu
detected in China. A 41-year-old Chinese man is the first human case of infection
with a rare strain of bird flu.
Authorities did not provide details on how the man was infected, but the H10N3 strain
is not believed to be easily transmitted from human to human.
This resident of the city of Zhenjiang, east China, was diagnosed last week, although
according to the Beijing National Health Commission (NHC) he had been admitted
to the hospital on April 28.
He came in with a fever and other symptoms, but has now recovered and is ready
