ASSESSMENT
Activity 1 – Essay

1. In your own understanding, what is physical fitness?

Physical fitness refers to a person's capacity to do daily activities with maximum

efficiency, endurance, and strength while also managing disease, weariness, and stress, as
well as reducing sedentary behavior. Exercise is defined as any physical activity that we
engage in on a regular basis to relax our bodies and relieve mental stress. Exercise should
be done on a regular basis. You will become physically and mentally healthy if you do this
on a daily basis. Furthermore, not exercising on a regular basis can render a person
vulnerable to a variety of ailments. As a result, just as we must eat food on a regular basis,
we must likewise exercise on a daily basis. The importance of workout essay will elucidate it
more. Exercise aids weight loss and reduces the risk of certain diseases. Daily exercise
reduces your risk of developing diseases such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, high blood
pressure, and others. It also aids in maintaining a healthy body weight.

2. What does being physically fit mean?

It is important to maintain a healthy high level of physical fitness. However, defining what
fitness could be challenging. Physical fitness is defined as "one's ability to undertake daily
tasks with optimal performance, endurance, and strength while managing disease,
weariness, and stress and reducing sedentary behavior," according to experts. This term
encompasses more than just the ability to sprint rapidly or lift heavy weights. Despite their
importance, these characteristics only address specific aspects of fitness. Physical fitness is
determined by how well a person satisfies each of the components of good health.

3. How is it different from health?

In terms of the distinction between health and wellness, health is a state of being, whereas
wellness is a state of leading a healthy lifestyle. Wellness attempts to improve well-being
by referring to physical, mental, and social well-being.
4. Is it the same with physical exercise?

The majority of people believe that being healthy and being fit are synonymous. They can,
in fact, constitute distinct states of bodily being. You might be extremely fit while being
unhealthy, or you can be really healthy while being extremely fit. The best results come
from attempting to strike a balance between the two, which necessitates understanding
the difference between fitness and health.

The World Health Organization defines health as a state of complete physical, mental, and
social well-being, not just the absence of disease or infirmity. It entails healthy aging,
longevity, high quality of life, and pain-free living, among other things.

Fitness, on the other hand, is described as a set of characteristics that people possess or
attain in relation to their capacity to engage in physical activity. When discussing fitness
levels, it's important to remember that fitness is made up of many different components

1. Endurance (Cardiovascular and Cardio-Respiratory): This is your body’s

ability to use and deliver oxygen to your body.
2. Stamina (Muscular Endurance): This is your body’s ability to store, process,
and use energy.
3. Strength: This is the ability of your muscles or a muscular unit to apply force.
4. Flexibility: The ability to maximize the range of motion of a joint.
5. Power: The ability of your muscles to maximize their force in a minimum
amount of time.
6. Speed: The ability to minimize the amount of time it takes you to accomplish
a task or movement.
7. Coordination: The ability to combine several different movement patterns in
a single distinct movement.
8. Accuracy: The ability to control a movement in a given direction or intensity.
9. Agility: The ability to minimize the time going from one movement to
another.
10. Balance: The ability to control the centre of gravity of your body in relation
to your support base.

Fitness is defined as any physical activity that stimulates the body's numerous systems and
keeps it in a healthy state. Health, on the other hand, involves all of the body's systems and
can only be achieved by a healthy lifestyle.
