1. Responsible Service
1.1. Airports Authority of India is the responsible authority for the provision of air traffic services within the area
indicated under para 2 below.
1.3. The services are provided in accordance with the provisions contained in the following ICAO documents -
i) Annex 2 - Rules of the Air
ii) Annex 11 - Air Traffic Services
iii) Doc 4444 - Procedures for Air Navigation Services-Air Traffic Management (PANSATM)
iv) Doc 8168 - Procedures for Air Navigation Services-Aircraft Operations (PANS-OPS)
v) Doc 7030 - Regional Supplementary Procedures
2. Area of responsibility
2.1. With the exception of certain military areas, state, military and private aerodromes, Air Traffic Services are provided
for the entire Indian territory including territorial waters as well as in airspace over high seas encompassed by
Chennai, Kolkata and Mumbai Flight Information Regions.
3. Types of services
3.1. With the exception of services provided at military air bases, the following types of services are provided :
i) Air Traffic Control Service
ii) Air Traffic Advisory Services
iii) Flight Information Service and Alerting Service
iv) Surveillance Services
3.3. A number of prohibited, restricted and danger areas have been established. Details of these areas given in section
ENR 5.1.
