1. What is your insight about the story, Jesus and little boy’s friendship?

My insight about the story of Jesus’ and little boy’s friendship is that they built a strong foundation
of bond and relationship towards one another. Where the boy tends to show how valuable their
relationship was, he treated Jesus like his own best friend. The boy spends time with Jesus in the
Church, where the little boy shares whole heartedly all of his’ stories and experiences in school and at
home, indeed an innocent child. We all know that Jesus is really close with children, in fact, Jesus goes
far to say that the Kingdom of God belongs to these children.

Despite of all the pain and hardships that the boy has encountered, he never questioned God on
why it is happening to him, instead, the little boy still continues to cherish all the things he experiences.
Everyday the little boy is making time just to visit and talk with Jesus, even if he finds it hard to go to the
church sometimes. But he did not make it as a hindrance, rather makes it as a challenge he needs to face
with.

I am really touched with how determined the little boy was, especially the way how he makes an
effort just to go to the Church. This reminds me that, no matter how busy we are we should always
make time for praying, because through praying it is our only way of communication with God. It will
help us to lessen the burden we feel by sharing it to Him. He already knows everything even before we
ask for it, that is why it I really important that we should learn how to spare time for God.

2. What is the teaching of the Church about Love?

The teaching of the Church about Love is that, there is someone up there who does loves us deeply
and does care intensely about what happens to us, and it is no other than but, GOD. We must love and
care for one another for we are all created in the image and likeness of God. We must love others, as
how much we love God as well as care for others as how we care for God.

No matter what our problems are, we should always bear in mind that all of us have in common:
THE NEED TO BE LOVED AND TO KNOW THAT WE ARE LOVED. Love makes us selfless, where we should
always think about for the common good first, rather than our own desire and wants. Other people’s
welfare and the ultimate good should be our priority. Even our enemies, we should love them too.

As a Roman Catholic, our Church teaches us that LOVE comes from God and it unites us with Him,
alone. This love will serve as a connection between God and Us, and that connection in between is Jesus
Christ. This connection is immeasurably deep and it is rooted through a spiritual way that helps us find
the real meaning and purpose of our lives. That is why God sent His only Son for us, not just to save us
from the sins of the world but also to send us a message on how He God dearly loves us.
3. How did the story affect your Christian Faith?

The story affected my Christian Faith through strengthening and nourishing it more deeply, it
fulfilled everything in me all my questions and fears were answered. My faith removes condemnation
and judgement completely and left me with a deep rooted unshakeable belief that God - alone, provides
me with. As we surrender our lives to God, we invite more peace into our lives, indeed it is a gift from
God that we should always nurture. Because our faith will forever serve as a connection between God,
Jesus and, Us – Humans.

Having faith is the essence of having hope, that in every hardships in life, we have courage to stand
still. Faith speaks language of our hearts, it is an expression of hope that goes beyond the conscious
mind. If we believe, we allow God to be the center of our lives, we let God control our lives. The story
has moved me so much, that by believing and having faith to God can change our lives, by simply
praying to Him can make our lives easier and His plans are better than ours.

1. To affirm another means to respect and promote his personhood, his potentials and his social
capabilities.

I do agree with this thought because in everything we do in our daily living we must
always learn how to obtain the word “respect”. By the means of respecting others, it can help us
to build strong relationships and maintain good interactions towards one another. This is where
our morality comes in, if a person doesn’t have respect because they do not have morals, then
there will be no boundaries for them when they are disrespecting others or their surroundings.
That is why, there is a need for us to have respect one another because this would help us to
build the world we live in, a better place.
If the respect for other people governs above all else, we are already respecting each
other’s differences and diversity. It implies accepting someone for who they are, even if they
have different opinions and beliefs. We all have opposing views in our lives, therefore we should
maintain the good evaluation between what is moral and immoral. Every individual being who
acts morally good are deserving of praise and if they exhibit any morally unacceptable action
then they are subjected to criticism. In the context of human-subjects research, the person is
indeed protected from damage by the concept of respect of others. It unequivocally affirms that
one should not infringe upon the right to be free and by being valued and treated respectfully,
it can help us to promote a positive surrounding and therefore help us to form feelings out of
trust, safety and, well-being.

2. What will happen when people exercise their freedom without responsibility?

If people exercise their freedom too much without even realizing that they also have
responsibility for their actions, then the world we live in today might be in chaos. If this is
possible then we will not have any peace of mind, because people will do anything and
everything just for the sake of their own happiness. Especially if the action is done in an evil or
bad way, which may cause harm and danger towards other people’s lives. It can also cause war
if we do not became accountable for the actions we do, because we are not fully aware that
there are possible consequences we may face. There might also be crimes committed, fights
everywhere, or the laws were no longer applicable since people already have their own way of
life. We must be aware that in every action we may do, it can result to a positive or a negative
consequence, depending on how we have used our freedom to act. Our choices and decisions
may affect not only our own lives but also the life of others.
Our authentic freedom is given to us to think whether our actions are morally good or
morally evil. The freedom we have is absolute and relative, all of us are obtaining it. We must
always remember that freedom is an inseparable entity with responsibility, therefore they must
go hand in hand. In every actions we may do and perform, it is very important to think first
whether it will be beneficial for us and for the people around us. We should always be
accountable for the things we do, because the welfare of others is also relying on how we act. It
is our moral obligation to do things in a good and better way, for this will help us to have a good
relationship with others. We are free humans, yet there are things that we have to follow in
order for us to have an organized and proper way of living. By simply following, rules,
regulations, policies and, principles. Our conscience will also be clean because we know in
ourselves that we have done nothing wrong.

1. List all your talents/giftedness and how you use it in right way for the sake of the
goodness of others.

The talents/giftedness that God has blessed me with are the following; I am able to
learn quickly, I am able to concentrate and focus well on my studies, I am imaginate and
creative, I am artisitic and, I am able to lead my groupmates or classmates as well. On the
other hand, I am also a consistent honor since High School, I also join dance contests inside
and outside our school and, I have passion in writing essays, poem and, stories.

Indeed, I am truly blessed and honored with the mentioned talents/gifts that God has
given me. By being a good steward of the gifts and talents, it is my desire to help others by
imparting with them all of my knowledge and skills, because by simply sharing with them, I
can guide them to deal with their problems in a much better way and I can help them
further to easily cope up with their difficulties.

Through this, I can be an inspiration for them so that they would do the same, which
they can also help people to learn from their experience. I do find joy everytime I am able to
help a person to withstand their struggles. I am also dedicated in serving others, because
that is what we are supposed to do, by helping one another, which we are not just
improving the betterment of ourselves but also for the benefit of others. Thus, this can
make our relationship towards others stronger and our connection with the will be
strengthened.

2. Cite your own brokenness in terms of relationship and how do you overcome or heal this
brokenness?

My brokenness in a relationship was really devastating and a painful experience for me.
In terms of having a romantic relationship, the trust I have for him was lost, we are arguing
constantly, I do not feel safe and secured with that person, I am no longer happy when I am with
him, he hurts me and curses me a lot of times, he became the reason why I was diagnosed with
depression and, the both of us are already harming one another. On the other hand, in terms of
family and friend relationships, my brokenness to them has pushed me to feel the sense of
unhealthy and severed connection which has brought me to cut ties with them. There was a
neglect and abuse of superiority, where I was always blamed for being a black sheep of the
family even I am really not, there was also a favoritism which has caused me to feel that I am
not part of the family or the circle of friends. I was backstabbed by some of my close friends and
they have ruined my reputation by bullying me. I was used in terms of they only befriended me
because they needed something from me.

Despite of all the experiences, it has taught me to become a better version of myself. I
have experienced to be on my lowest and caused me a lot of emotional disorders like
depression and anxiety. But this did not stop me from loving and caring for them, I still love
them even if they have hurt me a lot. This took me a while to do, especially in forgiving them. It
took me a lot of effort and courage to find again the happiness that I have been longing for. It
also took me a lot of time before I have fully recovered from the pain. There were sleepless
nights and my health was also deteriorating, I cannot eat well, I was traumatized, I was crying
the whole time and, I was also on the verge of having suicide.

I have realized that in every pain, in every joy and, in every sickness, we must turn to
God. I asked for His’ intercession to guide me in every decision to take. Because I cannot let my
emotions overwhelm me. I have prayed sincerely to God to mend and heal my heart, so that I
would be able to share again my love for others. He was the reason on why I was able to stand
up again, He was the source of my strength, I have surrendered everything to Him, alone. Little
did I know, the pain that became a burden to me was no longer on my heart. I trusted Him, and
He did not failed me. He assured me that I can overcome the struggles I have encountered,
indeed, I was lost and God found me.

1. Describe yourself in three words.

If would describe myself in 3 words, I am a person who is strong, optimistic and, God-Fearing.

2. Ask yourself if your personality has changed since childhood.

Starting from my childhood, adolescence and, now in Adulthood, I can definitely say that
I have grown and changed a lot. I became more matured through my experiences in life, I have
this strong perseverance in chasing my dreams, I have been more sociable towards other
people, I have been more appreciative in the things around me, I became more approachable
for those people in need.
I have literally grown a lot, through my failures, successes and, disappointments in life,
they have become my real life teacher that pushed me to go out from my comfort zone as well
as to become the best version of myself. I am also determined to finish my studies in order to
have a good career and profession ahead of me. The people around also served as an inspiration
for me to strive harder in life, they are my strength in every downfall.

3. Is your personality like either of your parents?

My personality is not just “like either” but they are a combination of my two parent’s
personality. Where my Father loves to crack jokes all the time, he loves his family so much, he
protects everyone around him, he loves to cook and to organize things, he also likes to hangout
with his friends and colleagues, but he is also a hard-headed and a short tempered person.
On the other hand, my mother is a very hardworking and strategic one, she cares a lot
about us, she loves to go shopping and spend time with family, she likes to eat a lot, she loves to
bond with family and friends, she is also very approachable in times of need and, she is kind and
thoughtful as well. Though, there are times because of her stressful workloads, she tend to
shout at us out of the blue and sometimes the way she speak looks like she is mad.
So now, I inherited the personality of the both of them, I am a joker, I love to bond and
hang out lot with family and friends, I like to cook and fix things, I am also an adventurer who is
curious about things around me, I’m a person who can be approached anytime and everywhere,
I love caring and helping other people especially the elderly. But on the other note, I am also a
hard-headed one and I do shout and laugh very loud at times. I am also a short tempered
person, just just like my daddy.

4. What qualities do you most admire in yourself?

I have been through a lot, I have experienced a lot of failures and disappointments, I
have struggled along my way, I have faced many downfalls, I have been into a lot of fights, I have
cried a lot of nights, I have learned how to be alone, and those are just few to mention.
The qualities that I admired the most about myself is how I was able to cope up with the
problems or circumstances that I have encountered for the past years. I was able to become the
best and the strongest version of myself. Those experiences molded me and helped me to
understand the true meaning and purpose of life. I also admired myself for being the most
selfless person I could ever be, because I always tend to think first other people’s welfare rather
than my own desire and wants. I have met the most courageous phase of me, despite of all the
negative experiences I was able to achieve the happiness and the freedom that I have ever
hoped for. I am also proud to say that I was able to break my comfort zone and I have achieve
my goals and dreams one by one through my determination. I was also able to help a lot of
people including my family, friends, classmates, teachers and, many more, the reason behind
this is because there is an inner fire and spirit in me who craves to help people out, it makes me
happy when I see them happy too. That is why I am really grateful with myself because I have
gone too far, without the strength to overcome all of these, maybe I will not be the person of
who I am today.

Are friends more important than family?  Explain your answer.

I don’t think that friends are more important than family, because whatever we may do,
even if we make the world go round, our family is still our family. Our family gives us
endless support and unconditional love, when we need something they are the first one
to help us out whether that may be through financially, emotionally, physically, mentally
or even, spiritually. They will be there throughout the ups and downs in our lives, they
will be present in our darkest and brightest days. Unlike in our friends, sometimes they
are only there in to celebrate good times in life but in bad times not all of them are
present. Some friends are not capable of helping their other friends financially, or even
comfort them in times of struggles. Not all of them could be present in our darkest days.
Though they help us in the sense of giving happiness.

Why do we need to spend time with our family?

We need to spend time with our family because we don’t know when will be our last
breath here on earth, we don’t know until when we could live, none of us actually do. On
the other hand, it helps us to maintain strong relationships with them. Upon making a
bond between them, they also gives us happiness and satisfaction. We can feel their love
and care when we spend time with them. It also helps us to lessen stress and improve
mental health. It encourages open communication and they could help us further to
cope up with challenges and instill the feeling of security.
