2. DISCUSSION:
1. IPCONFIG displays the IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway for all adapters.
While IPCONFIG/ALL displays additional information like the physical address, DNS
servers, and DHCP lease information.
2.The ping command sends ICMP echo request packets to a specified network host and
measures the time that it takes for the host to respond. The main difference between the
output of ping commands is the data that is returned. The output of ping 127.0.0.1 will
display an ongoing stream of data until the user stops the command, while the output of
ping 192.168.0.165 will display a specific number of packets and then stop.
3. The netstat command displays active connections and listening ports on a computer.
The reason for the difference between the output of the netstat command before and
after browsing the internet is that browsing the internet creates new connections
between the computer and various websites, which are reflected in the output of the
netstat command. Before browsing the internet, the output of the netstat command will
likely show fewer active connections and listening ports, while after browsing the
internet, the output of the netstat command will likely show more active connections and
listening ports.
4. The netstat command displays active connections and listening ports on a computer.

5. The nslookup command is used to query the Domain Name System (DNS) to obtain
domain name or IP address mapping information. The reason for the difference between
the nslookup of an IP address and a domain name is that an IP address is a unique
identifier for a device on a network, while a domain name is a human-readable name that
is used to identify a device on a network. When the nslookup command is executed with
an IP address, it returns the domain name associated with that IP address. When the
nslookup command is executed with a domain name, it returns the IP address associated
with that domain name.
3. CONCLUSION:
From this assignment, I can conclude that there are many different commands that can be
used to obtain information about a computer network and its connections. These
commands include ipconfig, ping, netstat, tracert, and nslookup. Each command provides
different types of information about the network and its connections, and the output of
each command can be affected by a variety of factors, such as whether a domain name or
IP address is used, and whether the command is executed before or after a network
activity. Understanding these commands and their output can help me troubleshoot
network issues and better understand the behavior of my computer network.
