The opening of the NPEO was held at the Ballroom of the Kyriad Bumi Minang Hotel, which has
a very luxurious-sized room decorated with flickering lights. The opening of the NPEO was
enlivened by the arrival of the Governor of West Sumatra, the main NPEO judges, and
representatives from one of the polytechnics throughout Indonesia.
When the event started there were many performances from the Host of the Padang State
Polytechnic, the first one of which was a dance performed by the PNP Art Activity Unit, where
the name of the dance was Tari Persembahan, this dance originated from Riau and this dance is
a Classical Malay Dance. which is often performed in the event to welcome the guest of honor.
This dance has a meaning as a sincere thank you to guests who come. This dance is usually
performed by 7 people, which is 4 dancers, 2 on the left and 2 on the right, 2 companions and 1
as a Anak Daro.
This Tari Persembahan is also accompanied by a silat performance demonstrated by UKS PNP,
the silat is called Silat Randai where this Randai silat is one of the traditional games in
Minangkabau which is played in groups by forming a circle, then walking slowly, while telling
the story. alternately in the form of a song.
Randai combines the arts of song, music, dance, drama and silat into one. Besides being
accompanied the martial arts, this dance is also followed by typical Minang music which
consists of 5 people including 2 talempong players, 1 tansa, and also 2 drum players.
And there is a special reason why this Minang-style silat became the choice to accompany the
Tari Persembahan, namely "because this silat has a movement in the form of galembong
strokes where the movement feels more beautiful and also has a model meaning that has an
excess of artistic value contained in the silat movement containing the expression of one of the
men who is agile in playing silat randai.
And an even more interesting was a minang song performance song sung by one of the female
students from the host named Miftah Julianti. The rhythmic strains entitled "Dendang
Parantauan" the NPEO participants were very enthusiastic about listening to this song and they
also had a passion for the meaning of the performance by this beautiful girl with a golden
voice.
Behind the grandeur of the NPEO opening ceremony, there were many differences in the
diversity and culture that existed throughout Indonesia. one of them is the participants who
come from Ambon State Polytechnic wear clothes that are very different from the others by
using nuanced batik clothes such as kimono clothes which have their own charm when
compared to other polytechnics students in Indonesia.
One of the Polnam participants named Mike said that there was a reason for wearing the
clothes, he said "we are proud of our almamater so we try to introduce Ambon State
Polytechnic in an anti-mainstream way. Wearing Ambon batik in such a big event like that we
not only promoted Poonam in such a way but in a broader perspective we were promoting
Ambon's rich cultures so when people know Polnam they know our cultures as well and We
were trying to be different in a positive way in order to be outstanding”. From this statement,
they stated that they wanted to be different from the others besides that they also used this for
promotion and wanted to show Ambonese culture so that people would know the Ambonese
culture.
One of the NPEO participants who came from Poltekkes Kemenkes Jakarta 3 said that they were
very happy to witness the spectacular opening of this NPEO. The participant who came from a
Health Student said that “Of course we are very happy because we can meet new friends, and
also meet good LO, then the competition is really fun and also challenging with the judges. they
and the last one, the city of Padang is very impressive, and we can never forget it and it will be
my most memorable experience”.
And besides that, the opinion of the Kupang State Polytechnic was also very appreciative.
During the opening of NPEO yesterday, he said, "The opening was very good and there were
also a lot of performances from Padang State Polytechnic friends who were even cooler, but
actually I was expecting more pop performances. But that's okay. In my opinion, yesterday's
opening of NPEO was very good and interesting for me, and the most interesting performance
for me was when the appearance of my brother who sang the million dreams song, and also the
performance of the dance performed by the host. (beware of the punctuationl
From the excitement of the opening of the NPEO opening certainly , there was a back team or
NPEO team who was very successful in this opening, namely Jamil and his team where there
were several obstacles that occurred when the opening of the NPEO had started. which is a
little difficult, but generally because we have managed by dividing the team for documentation
so, that it is in accordance with what we expect, and difficulties we encountered during the
opening and closing ceremonies was during live streaming, because there the operator had to
be detailed from camera setup, cable input and output, and also the operation of the Vmix
application itself, the trouble we encountered at that time was when singing Indonesian songs
performance the song only came out during the chorus". And Jamil and the team also
mentioned that there were get challenged when he became the NPEO team, including "For me
personally, it is chasing targets, in My NPEO is Designer, Videographer, Social Media Admin, and
also Editors. When I took videos I also had to take documentation for Instagram stories, then
being a designer and editor was very difficult at that time because I was a designer and editor
myself, and several other editors as operators. Now, editing is always with a short deadline, and
I had to make a design for the Vmix application and also for Instagram posts, it taking much of
time off because I have to edit until midnight".
From Jamil's statement above, he found a solution to the difficulties and challenges he
encountered during the opening of NPEO, quoted "doing everything as quickly as possible and
keeping the mood so that the work is completed quickly".
