An anxiety attack is a sudden and intense episode of fear

and anxiety. Anxiety attacks can occur unexpectedly for
no apparent reason, but they can also be linked to
specific triggers.

Anxiety attacks can have a significant impact on mental

health. That's why it's very important for us to know
what the possible outcomes are if someone has an
anxiety attack so that we can help them deal with it.

Repeated anxiety attacks can lead to a number of

negative effects on mental health, including:

• Increased anxiety
• Avoidance behaviors
• Depression

Anxiety attacks can increase a person's overall level of

anxiety, making them more likely to experience future
attacks.

How about Avoidance behaviors? (Student raises his/her hand)

Avoidance behaviors are those people

use to escape or distract themselves
from difficult thoughts, feelings, and
situations. Avoiding new job
opportunities and social interaction.

That's right!

When we say avoidance behaviors, are those people who

experience anxiety attacks may begin to avoid situations
or triggers that they associate with the attacks, leading to
social isolation and other negative consequences.

Let's proceed to depression. Why does depression can

lead to negative effects on mental health? Anyone who'd (Student raises his/her hand)
like to answer?
It is because depression is likely to
cause loss of appetite and weight loss.
Severe depression can lead to feeling
hopeless and, in some cases, suicidal.

lead to feelings of hopelessness and depression.

Now when we talk about substance abuse it is where

people may turn to drugs or alcohol as a way to cope
with anxiety attacks, leading to substance abuse and
addiction.

Lastly, physical health problems is also one of the most

negative effects on mental health because chronic
anxiety can lead to physical health problems such as
high blood pressure, heart disease, and digestive issues.

Now do you have any additional ideas or thoughts about

physical health problems?
None ma'am.
Okay! Always remember class that it's important to seek
treatment if you are experiencing anxiety attacks, as
there are effective treatments available that can help
manage symptoms and prevent long-term negative
effects on mental health.

Are we clear about that class?

Yes, Ma'am.
