Pattern (worked bottom to top)

With light brown yarn, cast on 4 stitches onto one DPN. Without
turning, slide the stitches to the right end of the needle to work the
first round as an I-cord.
Rnd 1 (worked as I-cord): [Kfb] 4 times (8 sts).
Distribute the stitches onto 3 DPNs to continue working in a round.
Rnd 2: [Kfb] 8 times (16 sts).
Rnd 3: Knit.
Rnd 4: [Kfb, k1] 8 times (24 sts).
Rnd 5: Knit.
Rnd 6: [Kfb, k2] 8 times (32 sts).
Rnds 7-9: Knit (3 rnds).
Rnd 10: [K2tog, k2] 8 times (24 sts).
Rnd 11: Knit.
Lightly stuff the piece (enough to fill out the shape, but the cookie
should be relatively two-dimensional when pressed flat).
Rnd 12: [K2tog, k1] 8 times (16 sts).
Rnd 13: Knit.
Rnd 14: [K2tog] 8 times (8 sts).
Break the yarn, leaving a tail of a few inches, and draw it tightly
through the stitches with a tapestry needle. With the tail still on the
tapestry needle, weave it down through the bottom of the piece,
and make several small stitches going all the way through the
bottom and top of the piece, to help it retain its flat shape.

With dark brown yarn, embroider small, randomly-placed patches

of stitches to resemble chocolate chips.
