1. PRELIMINARY NOTE:
LLC reserves the right to adapt the methods used according to site needs and
configuration. In the case of major changes to the methods intended to be used,
this method statement will be resubmitted for approval. The Work shall be
commenced upon approval of the MS and RS by Client.

2. PURPOSE OF WORK:
This document defines the procedures to be used during the initial stage starting
from excavation, water tank installation and fixing it to the main line of the
warehouse and office. The scope of work covers the excavation to installation
of water tank and fix the water line to the existing main line of the warehouse
and office.

3. Responsibilities:
Project Mr.
Manager Leads and execute timely completion of work and oversee
the safety of the site.

Project Mr.
engineer Directs the site team to ensure that all work procedures and
safety aspect is covered as per the procedures and overseas
the proposed work.
Safety officer Mr
Provide relevant and required training on site to enforce all
safety rules and regulations and oversee the process.

Supervisor Mr.
Overseas and directs the execution of work on site and
ensures that safety measures are in place and maintained.
General To Follow the Instruction provided by Supervisor and
workers follow site Safety rules and regulations at all time.

4. Scope of work:
 Gypsum Wall cladding all the joints filling and sanding.
 Fix on the wall MDF 30X30 cm access door for electrical point – fixing
the screws
 Double skin Plywood fixing on the wooden structure for steps- Fixing the
screws.
 PVC floor tiles on the wooden steps & side safety wall both sides- fixing
by glue.
 Fixing of existing window paint wooden architrave – Fixing by silicon
and screws.
 Wooden capping fixing on the safety wall top – Fixing by silicon.

5. Safety Requirements:
 Worker involved must be inducted by Safety officer.
 Worker involved must wear complete and proper PPE requirements at all
times.
 Worker involved must be MS/RA briefed and recorded.
 All workers must be briefed with emergency procedure, Evacuation drill
procedure and general site rules that are followed at Mapei Site.
 Material Handling.
Induction and training shall be based on this safety program and shall
include but shall not be limited to:

(a) General Safety Policy of Contractor and Client.


(b) Briefing of Local Authority rules and regulations
(c) Briefing the MS and RS to Site team.
(d) Employee responsibility for property and safety of others.
(e) Employee responsibilities for reporting all minor and major
accidents.
(f) Procedures for reporting (OR) correcting unsafe conditions
of practice.
(g) Fire Fighting procedures.
(h) Alcohol/drug abuse policy.
Persons shall be permitted to start the work upon receiving the work
permit from mapei safety Team.
Persons shall not be permitted to work on the excavated area unless
provisions have be made to minimize the hazards.
Aluminium scaffold shall be used for the work at height.
All the personnel working on the scaffold shall hook their safety belt on
the handrails of the scaffold
Self-retractable fall arrester system will be used wherever necessary.
5. PERSONAL PROTECTIVE APPAREL AND SAFETY
EQUIPMENT (PPE)
 Personal protective devices shall be used as required.
 PPE’s shall be inspected regularly prior to use to ensure that it is Safe to
Use.
 All workers should be provided mandatory PPE, such as Coverall,
Helmet, Safety Shoes and Goggles
 Persons handling rough, sharp edged, abrasive materials or where the
work subjects to hand burns or bruises shall use hand Gloves.
 Persons working at height (i.e on the scaffold) shall be provided with Full
body harness system. Prior to use, make sure that the harness and the
Lanyards are Safe for use.
 All persons exposed to operations which subject the eye (OR) face to dust
or flying particles shall use Safety Goggles and Face shield.

6. EQUIPMENT & MANPOWER:

A list of equipment and manpower is given below.

6.1EQUIPMENT:

 Hand shovel
 Lead power cable

6.2 MANPOWER:

 Engineer 1 Nos
 Workers 3 Nos
6.3 MATERIALS:

 Ply wood
 Timber wood
 Steel nails
 Tool box materials

7. SCOPE OF WORK:
The scope work involved in water tank installation and its pipe line fixing it to
the existing main lines.

As an initial step, provide safe access for the site operatives to reach to the work
area.

 Obtaining the work permit from the Mapei Client representative and
ensure the work area is safe.
 Tool box talk training must be given to the workers about the scope of
work and the risk that are associated with the work must be
communicated.
 Job specific instruction must be given by the onsite supervisor.
 Providing proper access to the excavation team.
 Excavation shall be done manually to prevent any damage to the
unidentified underground services.
 All site rubbish that arises during the excavation and tank installation
shall be stored in the black cover and at the end of each shift, the waste
debris shall be disposed in the designated area.

8 Methodology:
8.1 Preparation Work:
 PPE must be worn at all times.
 Aluminium Scaffold shall be provided for all the height work activities.
 Ensure that the existing underground services drawing shall be
identified before the commencement of the excavation work.
 All equipment shall be inspected, and all personnel shall be inducted
and trained before the commencement of work on site.
9. Clear Working Area:

 Work area is cleared and materials disposed of, reused or recycled


according to legislation, regulations, codes of practice and job
specification.
 Tools and equipment are cleaned, checked, maintained and stored in
accordance with manufacturer recommendations and workplace
procedures.
 Documentation is completed in accordance with workplace requirements

10. Dismantle of the aluminium scaffold;

Reverse procedure of the scaffold erection shall be followed for aluminium


scaffold dismantle.

11. Rubbish Arising:

 At the appropriate time we will clear rubbish and debris arising


from our works into the skips designated by Client.

12. Health and Safety Management Provisions:

 Specific safety measures must be in place as applicable.

 The Team will undertake safety induction /Pre job safety briefings.

 The Team shall be made aware of method of statements and


specific risk relating to their work.

 Respective work permits shall be acquired before work


commencement.

 Personal Protective Equipment such as Coverall, Hard hats, safety


goggles, safety shoes.
 Good Housekeeping should be maintained throughout.
