QUESTION 1: ELABORATE TWO LESSONS LEARNT FROM
THE STORY
From the story, I have learnt that we should always appreciate and love ourselves more, no
matter how hard life is. This could be seen through the blind girl, who hated herself just because
she was blind. Appreciation is just like water to the flowers. You need to appreciate yourself to
nourish your own growth. Try approving yourself and see what happens. Frankly, I think the
blind girl should've never hated herself just because she was blind, she should've hated herself
because of how much time and energy she wasted in her life. Other than that, I also have learnt
that we shouldn't have high trust for anyone, whether it be a stranger, a family member or
someone you loved. This could be seen through the boyfriend's sacrifices towards the blind girl.
He trusted the blind girl to the point where he's willing to sacrifice his own eyes, so that the
blind girl would marry him. Donating your eyes is like giving your life. This shows how much love
can put someone in a difficulty for the rest of their life. Personally, I think the boyfriend
should've never donate his eyes to the blind girl. He should at least give himself some time to
decide, so that he would never regret his decision. In short, this story is a reminder to all of us to
be kind, grateful and most importantly a reminder for us to always love ourselves. It might take
some time but it will be worth it in the end.
QUESTION 2: WITH THE REFERENCE TO THE STORY "THE
BLIND GIRL", DO YOU THINK UNCONDITIONAL LOVE
EXISTS? JUSTIFY TWO REASONS FOR YOUR ANSWER.
From my perspective, I don't think unconditional love exist in the story. This can be
proven through the sacrifices made by the boyfriend. The boyfriend sacrificed so much
things in life to the point where he decided to donate his eyes to the blind girl. Even
after all of that, the blind girl still decided to leave him and refused to marry him after
knowing that her boyfriend was blind too. Besides that, when we love someone
unconditionally, we shouldn't expect anything in return, otherwise we will be left heart
broken. This could be seen when the boyfriend walked away in tears after knowing that
the blind girl broke her promise to marry him just because he was blind. In conclusion,
we should always love ourselves more, no matter what happens. One thing about love,
if you don't love yourself first, you will never know how to love other people right.
QUESTION 3: IN YOUR OPINION, HOW DID THE BLIND GIRL
FEEL AFTER SHE KNEW IT WAS THE BOYFRIEND WHO
DONATED HER THE EYES? WOULD SHE REGRET BREAKING
THE PROMISE TO MARRY HIM? EXPLAIN WHAT HER
FEELINGS MIGHT BE AND JUSTIFY YOUR ANSWER
Personally, I don't think the blind girl would regret her decision. This can be proven
when the blind girl decided to leave her boyfriend after she saw that he was blind too.
This might be because the blind girl didn't
want to experience the same thing over
again. Love shouldn't feel as if I love you more than you love me or vice versa. The
effort shouldn't be one-sided. Everyone deserve to be in spaces and relationships that
make you happy, that feed your soul and help you grow. To conclude with, we should
always be grateful and keep our promises so that we don't hurt other people's feelings.
We also should thank anyone that helped us and always be there for us through good
and bad times.
