Title: Key influential users driving online discussion of environmentally controversial project
• Retrieved tweets and user data related to the Scarborough gas project in Australia though Twitter API 2.0
• Python package wordcloud, NetworkX, TexrBlob used to apply social network and sentiment analysis.
• Key influential users present to be important in gathering communities in the retweet social network
• Chi-square test verified the difference in sentiment proportion of tweets produced by key influential users
between different social networks

Title: Global Naturalization of Alien Plants: The Role of Economic Use
• Linked 4 databases using R: GloNAF, Plant World Economic Uses, Dave’s Garden, Plant Information Online
• Cleaned 79,610 species data, including Taxon name standardization, region info merging, data frame reshaping
• Applied different models to test whether and how naturalization of alien plants is related with economic uses
• Find that the economic use increases the likelihood of naturalization almost 18-fold, species with multiple
economic uses are more likely to naturalize, environmental and animal food purposes have most strong effects.
• Published on the Journal Nature communications in 2020 with 65 citations currently.

Title: Arbuscular mycorrhizal network mediated C transfer from native to invasive plant species
• Grew invasive and native plants together, with AMF hyphae connected or not, and under shading or not
• Applied stable isotope probing with 13C-CO2 to trace 13C-labelled photosynthate throughout plants
• Found no support for 13C transfer and resulting changes in plant functional traits
• Presented this project’s results in the National Top Talent Undergraduate Training Program

• Group Leader, responsible for conducting life cycle assessment (LCA) of wooden and stainless-steel
chopsticks made in China and completed an assessment report
