Guide.

(1) Review:
Ask the students to define technical and operational terms that they have encountered before. Let them
share their answers with the class.
(2) Motivation:
Show the students a video or a news article about the importance of understanding technical and
operational definitions in various fields of work.
(3) Activity:
Activity 1: Technical vs. Operational
Divide the class into two groups. One group will be assigned to research and present technical definitions
of different terms, while the other group will be assigned to research and present operational definitions
of the same terms. After each presentation, the other group will ask questions to clarify and compare
the definitions.
Activity 2: Jargon Game
Prepare a list of technical and operational terms related to a specific field of work. Divide the class into
small groups and give them a set amount of time to come up with a definition for each term without
using any jargon. After the time is up, have each group present their definitions and compare them with
the correct ones.
