Michael Morton Went to jail for killing his wife and was in jail for 25 yrs before
the innocence project fought to have DNA tested and he was
found innocent.
Rodney Reed Currently on death row for killing his girlfriend at the time.
She was also dating a Bastrop county sheriff who was known
for domestic violence.
Humberto Leal Mexican national who was not allowed to talk to the Mexican
Garcia consulate before his death sentence. Texas violated the
Vienna Convention in not letting him talk to the Mexican
Consulate.
Timothy Cole He was accused of committing a crime that he did not do. He
was later found innocent, but the process to release him from
“Timothy Cole Act” prison took too long and he died in prison while waiting to be
freed.
Todd Willingham Was accused of setting his house on fire that killed his 3
young daughters. Texas executed him. His family wanted to
clear his name so 10 years after he was executed he was
found innocent and given a posthumous pardon.
