Dear Sir/Madam,

Please consider my application for the M&A Analyst Internship at MCF Corporate Finance.

An internship at MCF entails extraordinary opportunities for professional and personal growth from a
leading Corporate Finance and M&A advisory in the Nordics. By working at a renowned and trusted firm,
I will have the chance to work on some of the most significant transactions and learn from the most
experienced in the industry to quickly become a valued member of my team. The firm’s strong
international presence also implies that I will also get to work on a variety of cross-border transactions,
which is of great interest for me.

I have also come to develop a better understanding and liking of the culture at the firm, following my
conversations with Henrik Olsson, an employee. The team’s relatively smaller size professionals implies
that my contributions will be of larger weight and that my connection to the team and the firm will be
much stronger. I have also understood that junior-level employees become an integrated part of the team –
able to take ownership from the beginning, working closely with senior colleagues and getting the chance
to work with clients early in their career. This is very valuable to me, and is reflective of a culture which
values all employees regardless of rank. I also value the firm’s devotion to transparency by creating a
non-hierarchical culture, the possibilities for flexible work, and the high regard for employees’ health and
work-life balance.

My past experiences have fostered competencies which I consider imperative to this role. My internships
at BCG and Ericsson allowed me to take on high levels of responsibility in high-pressure and fast-paced
environments, sharpening my analytical skills and encouraging my high work ethic. During these
projects, I have also demonstrated a drive and ability to work independently as well as in teams to
produce high quality work. In addition, I possess leadership skills from an array of extracurricular
activities. As Student Ambassador, I have experience representing a brand under pressure and marketing
outward the organizations’ work and values, a testament to my relationship-building attitude. In addition,
I think of myself as an entrepreneurial spirit, as demonstrated by my participation in the SEB
Entrepreneur Camp as well as time spent outside of my studies working on my own start-up. I also have
some international experience from going to an exchange semester in France to joining online
associations and initiatives outside of Sweden, which I believe has made me a more well-rounded person.
I hope to use these capabilities to find creative solutions for MCF’s clients.

I am particularly attracted to working with M&A for the ability to participate in what is essentially
high-level financial decision-making. From financial modeling and market research to the preparation of
presentation material, I will not only be gaining valuable and life-long skills, but also making an impact.
Although my past work experience is mainly within consulting, I have come to realize over that my true
interest lies within finance and for this reason, I have started to expand my knowledge by doing more
research into financial markets, going to finance-related events and lectures, reaching out to individuals
with experience within the field, as well as applying to relevant programs such as “SEB Diversify
Finance” and SEO London’s “Step into Finance”. Following this, my interest has only grown and I am
now eager to gain some real experience, and I believe that MCF is the best place to do so.
