PART – VIII PERSONAL STATEMENT AND ESSAYS
1. You must answer all 4 essay questions and 1 personal statement. Failure to do so will
result in an automatic disqualification.
2. The questions are available in a separate document on the Supreme Court website in
the Law Clerkship tab:
https://www.supremecourt.gov.pk/situation-vacant-law-clerk/.
3. The word limit for the Personal Statement is 750 words. For essay questions 1-3, it is
500 words each, and for question 4, it is 250 words.
4. Exceeding the word limit will result in negative marking.

PART – IX IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
APPLICATION
1. This application must be filled digitally and sent to scplawclerks@gmail.com along
with all corresponding documents, personal statement, and essays.
2. Please see the ‘Documents’ section below.
3. Please ensure that your application and documents are sent in one clearly labelled
email.
4. Please state your name and ‘Law Clerkship Application’ in the subject line of the
email, and clearly label all documentation with your name included.
5. In the body of the email, please list down each document that has been attached,
clearly setting out the relevance of any additional documents that support your
application.
6. Please write either PENDING or N/A where appropriate. Do not leave any parts
empty.
7. After your application has been submitted, you are required to fill the following
google form to confirm your submission. This step is essential and applications may
not be considered without it:

DOCUMENTS
9. Mandatory documents include the Candidate’s CNIC, educational certificates,
university transcripts, CV, Certificates/Awards, Memberships/Licences, 2 references,
and any other document the Candidate relies upon in this application.
10.All documents must be scanned and sent in the same email that will include this
application form, essay questions, and the personal statement.
QUESTIONS
11.Candidates must answer FOUR (04) essay questions and ONE (01) Personal
statement.
12.The questions and precise nature of the personal statement are available on the
Supreme Court Website.
13.The candidate must strictly adhere to the word limit for each essay question and the
personal statement, stating the word count at the end of each answer.
REFERENCES
14.The Referee must be a member of the legal fraternity, an academic or an individual of
good social standing.
15.The Referee cannot be related to the Candidate.
16.The Referee must know the Candidate for a minimum of ONE year at the time of
writing the Reference Letter.

17. The Letters must be written and signed by the Referee. We reserve the right to contact
your referee to confirm this.
NOTE: NO FORM OF PLAGIARISM WILL BE TOLERATED. PLAGIARISM
WILL RESULT IN AUTOMATIC DISQUALIFICATION.
