Analyse the effects of the American constitution on America and its society

The American Constitution is a set of amendments that define the country's laws. The
The Constitution was written on September 17, 1787. It was introduced to give America
independence over the current powers over them which included Britain and France which were
in conflict at the time. There are many people that support the Constitution and state it brings
positive change to America, while others argue that it reflects the overarching power they had
just brought down. The American Constitution is viewed as both helpful and harmful to
American society. Although the effect of the constitution seems to be more positive than
negative.

The American Constitution is viewed as a negative influence on the country. This is due to the
constitution imposing a very similar ruling to the previous power of Britain and France. It did not
provide people with the freedom that they promised, and people saw it as a threat to the
country. The Constitution seemed to be rather limiting Americans than giving them the rights
they deserved, depriving them of freedom of speech, religion and freedom of the press. They
also argued that the federal government was corrupt and had too much power while the state
governments did not have any power at all. This is due to the lack of bill of rights “And their
most successful argument against the adoption of the Constitution — the lack of a bill of
rights to protect individual liberties.”1 This is one of the most convincing reasons adopted by
the anti-federalists to combat the American Constitution.” We need a constitution that is both
more liberal, with more effective limits on power as well as improved safeguards against
corrupt (or even insurrectionist) government officials and more democratic.”2 The
constitution also like said in the source does not have increased safeguards in terms of corrupt
politicians, because there have been incidents where former presidents have caused
insurrections due to their loss in parliament as well as riots to regain their place. It also
exemplifies the means of the constitution not being liberal enough, which means people do not
have access to the proper right they deserve to have. “No single article of the Constitution is
more important, the Framers believed, because, if you couldn’t revise a constitution,
you’d have no way to change the government except by revolution.”3 Another reason why
the constitution is negative is due to it being hard to amend. As seen in the source, the only way
to actively amend the constitution is by revolution and that there was no other option but this. In
conclusion, many opposed the American Constitution, due to it taking away the rights of the
people and giving the government too much power over them, as well as not providing enough
protection against corrupt politicians, a weak liberal system, and being very difficult to amend.

powerful force in the origin of the Bill of Rights to protect American's' civil liberties.” (2009)

The American Constitution plays an important role in the lives of everyday Americans. The
Constitution was formed due to the people wanting a strong central government. The
Constitution also provided Americans with many amendments that helped aid in their everyday
lives. For example, it introduced the Bill of Rights which gave the people freedom of speech,
choice and religion; it protected civilians by not allowing states to take people's properties and
personal assets and applied equal laws to every individual. This is why the people viewed the
Constitution as a positive change and were very supportive of it. Therefore, the Constitution is
viewed as successful with people supporting it in the present time as it is the main structure that
protects rights and differentiates between state and federal law aiding in keeping America
together. “For example, it specified that states could not take away a person’s life, liberty,
or property without due process of the law. This amendment also made it illegal for
states to deny equal protection of the laws.” 4 , this meant that the constitution also provided
the people with the right to be protected by the law and their personal assets unable to be taken
by the state. In conclusion, the American constitution is viewed as something important that is
needed in the lives of everyday Americans, due to the rights it provides them and the fact that it
provides them protection from federal and state governments.

The American Constitution is correct as is and does require any change. Through the 14
amendments that have changed the Constitution, America is in a state where change is no
longer needed as it was almost 50 years ago. It seems that changing the Constitution would be

a foolish act as it would bring the collapse of the whole government, which then would take
America back to the problem that made this very pact. What George Washington and the
founding fathers had done was do something that should never be changed but from time to
time if needed amendments to be added. It is the oldest written constitution in the world and still
affects America in a positive way to this day. “It is the key to what makes America
“exceptional,” the foundation of our “shining city on a hill” and the reason the country
offers a universal model of what Abraham Lincoln called “government of the people, by
the people, for the people.”5 The source outlines how the constitution gives the people self-
government and principles of self-equality. If we look at a time when there was no Constitution,
Americans did not even have the common right of possessing their own land as they were taken
by the British which leads me to believe and support the keeping of the Constitution.” The very
fact that the US Constitution has lasted for 230 years demonstrates a remarkable
resilience and endurance, which is in part because it is a minimalist document.”6 This is
also a key reason that shows the impact of the constitution. If it had been able to last 230 years
and still shape America into the country it was today, it shows the overall brilliance of this
document. In conclusion, the American Constitution is correct as is and is still shaping and
affecting America in a positive way to this day, and I believe that it should not be removed or
changed unless necessary.
To briefly summarize, the American Constitution written in 1787 is a set of amendments and
laws that both positively and negatively affect the country. As a result, the Constitution is
constantly changed to suit common American needs. For example, the people who opposed the
Constitution said there was no Bill of Rights, which was then later released in an amendment,
and a less liberal and more corrupt government. If you look at present-day America, you can
see that the effects of the Constitution have made America a greater power as well as one of
the world’s leading influences, it has provided the people with self-liberty and government as
well as principles of equality that are still in effect today. This shows that the Constitution poses
an overall positive impact on America, although the implications of this paper continue to shape
different opinions both positive and negative to this day.
