Report
If you need to print the drawing of the project, you have to create sheets, where are views of plans,
sections, schedules and etc. information about the project. The sheets have the frames and the main
entry tables.
- For this reason, the first step is creating A3 template of a sheet as a library element, where will be
created a report of the project:
- open a new Revit file as Family (Fig. 1).

- press the button Load in the opened window New Sheet. Choose Titleblocs in the opened catalogue
and later choose the template A3 metric.rft;
- The result of creating a sheet of A3 is shown below.

- The second step is uploading the main entry table of A3 format. The AutoCAD file with the main
entry table is in the MOODLE system. It has to be downloaded.
- Go to in the Revit template. Choose the command Import CAD in the option Insert, in the group
Import.

- Select the file A3_Template_2017.dwg in the opened window Import CAD Formats, select the
element Auto – Center to Center in the list Positioning and press OK.
- The result of uploading the main entry table of A3 format is shown below.

- move the inserted table 5 mm into the right site, for this reason, use the command Move.
- select the inserted table. Choose a command Explode in the tab Modify|Imports in Families, in the
group Import Instance. The main entry table (which was inserted) is split into individual objects. It means,
AutoCAD objects is changed to Revit objects;

- Click two times on text and you have an opportunity to edit the drawing text easily.

- This element is saved Save As/Family in your folder, with the new name A3 TEMPLATE.rfa.

2. Open the Revit project of house.


- Choose the command Load family in the tab Insert, in the group Load from Library. Upload a library
element of the main entry table of A3 format.
- Choose the value Sheets (all) in the Project Browser, press the right button of the mouse and
choose the command New Sheet. In the opened window choose the sheet of A3 format (A3
TEMPLATE.rfa) and press OK.
- Select a newly created sheet and change a title to FOUNDATION PLAN (Rename).
3. Fill the table as is given in Figure 2:
- choose the command Text in the tab Annotate in the group Text.

- choose the element in the window Text and write text in the table. Choose the required text size:
2 mm Arial Narrow for Name, Data, Group;
3 mm Arial Narrow for Edition, Sheet, Sheets;
5 mm Arial Narrow for Object, Drawing, Mark.

- Text size can be edited in table Type Properties:

- Go to view of “Internal Foundation” of project.
- Edit the drawing: hide the not needed elements of the project (use the Hide in View/Elements); set
dimension and etc (Fig. 3).

- The “Internal Foundation” view in the Project Browser is moving on sheet of A3 format with
the mouse or select the sheet with mouse and choose the command Add View from menu (Fig.4).

- If the moved view does not fit in the chosen sheet, need to change a view scale. Choose the
SCALE :100 in Properties table.

- Select the view on the reported sheet and click the right button of the mouse, choose a command
Activate View.
- Turn on Crop View, Crop Region Visible and Annotation Crop in the Properties in the group
Extents.

- Now can to change selected view area (blue rectangle) with the mouse. When you finish you need
to select a command Deactivate View in the shortcut menu (click whit right side mouse) (Fig. 5).

- Move in the needed place of sheet.

- The name of Foundation of a graphics window is not imaged. Select the graphics window or your name.

- click Edit Type in the window Properties;


- choose the element No in the row of Show Title, in the window Type Properties and press OK.

- Go in the sheet. Type the name FOUNDATION PLAN. SCALE 1:100 as is shown in Figure 6. Choose
the command Text in the tab Annotate in the group Text; choose the element 5mm Arial in the window
Text; select the place with mouse, where will be text and type FOUNDATION PLAN. SCALE 1:100. Use
the command Move for editing.

- Other reports (FIRST FLOOR, SECOND FLOOR, all four ELEVATIONS are shaped similarly.
The result have to be:
- A sheet of "Internal foundations" view, which name on the sheet has to be FOUNDATION PLAN
SCALE 1:100,
- A sheet of "1 Floor" view, which name on the sheet has to be the FIRST FLOOR SCALE 1:100,
- A sheet of "2 Floor" view, which name on the sheet has to be the SECOND FLOOR SCALE
1:100,
- A sheet of "Section" view, which name on the sheet has to be the SECTION 1-1 SCALE 1:100
- A sheet of elevation "East" view, which name on the sheet has to be the FACADE A-C SCALE
1:100;
- A sheet of elevation "North" view, which name on the sheet has to be the FACADE 3-1 SCALE
1:100;
- A sheet of elevation "South" view, which name on the sheet has to be the FACADE 1-3 SCALE
1:100;
- A sheet of elevation "West" view, which name on the sheet has to be the FACADE C-A SCALE
1:100;

4. Save the Project.
