ENTRANCE HYMN
GREETINGS
Then the Priest, extending his hands, greets the people, saying:
Priest:
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit .
The people reply:
People:
Amen.
Priest:
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the
communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
The people reply:
People:
And with your spirit.
Penitential Rite
Then follows the Penitential Act, to which the priest invites the faithful, saying:
Priest:
Brethren (brothers and sisters), let us acknowledge our sins and so
prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries.
A brief pause for silence follows.
Priest:
May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins and bring us
to everlasting life.
The people reply
People:
Amen.
When this hymn is concluded, the Priest, with hands joined, says
Priest:
Let us pray…
People: Amen.
Then the Lord God said: “It is not good for the man to be
alone. I will make a suitable partner for him.” So the Lord God
formed out of the ground various wild animals and various birds of
the air, and he brought them to the man to see what he would call
them; whatever the man called each of them would be its name. The
man gave names to all the cattle, all the birds of the air, and all the
wild animals; but none proved to be the suitable partner for the man.
So the Lord God cast a deep sleep on the man, and while he was
asleep, he took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh. The
Lord God then built up into a woman the rib that he had taken from
Responsorial Psalm
(Psalm 128)
Reader: Let our response be: Happy are those who fear the Lord.
Second Reading

Gospel Acclamation
Alleluia, alleluia
Gospel
(Matthew 19:3–6)
Priest: Some Pharisees approached him, and tested him, saying: “Is
it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any cause whatsoever?” He
said in reply, “Have you not read that from the beginning, the
Creator ‘made them male and female’ and said, ‘For this reason a
man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and
the two shall become one flesh’ So they are no longer two, but one
flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, no human being
must separate.”
At the end of the Gospel, the Deacon, or the Priest, acclaims:
Homily
Rite of Marriage
Allocution
Scrutiny
Exchange of Consent
Bride & Groom: Grant us, O Lord, to be one heart and one soul,
from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in
sickness and in health, until death do us part.
Confirmation of the Marriage Bond

The Groom places the ring on the ring finger of the Bride, saying:
The Bride places the ring on the ring finger of the Groom, saying:
The Groom takes the Arrhae in both hands. The Bride places her cupped hands under those of
the groom. The Groom lets the arrhae fall into the hands of the bride saying:
Priest: Heavenly Father, bless this Holy Bible. May its pages
provide __________________and __________________
with valuable advice in all circumstances of their
marriage. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Commentator/All:Amen.
Priest: Brothers and sisters, may I now present to you Mr. & Mrs.
_______________________. Let us give them a round of applause
as a sign of our acceptance.
Then follows the Universal Prayer, that is, the Prayer of the
Faithful or Bidding Prayers.
Priest: Dear brothers and sisters, let us now pray for the Church
and for our newly-wedded couple, whose marriage reflects the union
of Christ and His Church. For every petition we will say:
Lord, hear our prayer.
Reader: Let us pray for the Church which is the bride of Christ that
she may always be faithful in her mission of spreading the Good
Reader: Let us pray for our government leaders that they may
become God’s instrument in protecting the family and defend life at
all cost. We pray.
Reader: Let us pray for all the needs of our brothers and sisters,
the sick, the handicapped, the prisoners and all those abandoned by
their love ones, that through their presence in our community we
may be enlightened and show our charity with love. We pray.
Priest: God our Father, look down with favor upon your servants.
Grant them to remain faithful to you and to one another. At the end
of a long and well-spent life, reward them with eternal happiness,
together with their children and with all those who love them.
Through Christ our Lord.
People: Amen.
* Offertory Procession
The Veil Sponsors lay the white veil over the head of the Bride and the shoulders of the Groom.
Finally, the Cord Sponsors place the cord over the shoulders of the couple in an 8-form.
When all this has been done, the Offertory Chant bedins. Meanwhile, the ministers place the
corporal, the purificator, the chalice, the pall and the Missal on the altar.
It is desirable that the faithful express their participation by making an offering,
bringing forward bread and wine for the celebration of the Eucharist and perhaps other gifts to
relive the needs of the Church and of the poor.
The Priest, standing at the altar, takes the paten with the bread and holds it slightly raised above
the altar with both hands, saying in a low voice:
Priest:
Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for through your goodness
we have received the bread we offer you: fruit of the earth and work
of human hands, it will become for us the bread of life.
Deacon/Priest:
By the mystery of this water and wine may we come to share in the
divinity of Christ who humbled himself to share in our humanity.
The priest then takes the chalice and holds it slightly raised above the altar with both hands,
saying in a low voice:
Priest:
Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation , for through your goodness
we have received the wine we offer you: fruit of the vine and work of
human hands, it will become our spiritual drink.
Then he places the chalice on the corporal.
If, however, the Offertory Chant is not sung, the Priest may speak these words aloud; at the end,
the people may acclaim:
Priest:
With humble spirit and contrite heart may we be accepted by you, O Lord, may our
sacrifice in your sight this day be pleasing to you, Lord God.
If appropriate, he also incenses the offering, the cross, and the altar. A Deacon or other minister
then incenses the Priest and the people.
Then the Priest, standing at the side of the altar, and washes his hands, saying
quietly:
Priest:
Wash me, O Lord, from my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.
Standing at the middle of the altar, facing the people, extending and then joining his hands, he
says:
Commentator: Please, all stand.
Priest:
Pray brethren (brothers and sisters) that my sacrifice and yours may
be acceptable to God, the Almighty Father.
The people rise and reply:
Priest:
Receive, we pray, O Lord,
the offering made on the occasion
of this sealing of the sacred bond of Marriage,
and, just as your goodness is its origin,
may your providence guide its course.
Priest:
It is truly right and just, our duty and our salvation,
always and everywhere to give you thanks,
Lord, holy Father, almighty and eternal God.
At the end of the Preface he joins his hands and concludes the Preface with the people, singing
or saying aloud
Commentator:
Please kneel.
The Priest, with hands extended, says
Priest:
You are indeed Holy, O Lord, the fount of all holiness .
He joins his hands and, holding them extended over the offerings, says
So that they may become for us the Body and + Blood of our Lord,
Jesus Christ.
He joins his hands.
In the formulas that follow, the words of the Lord should be pronounced clearly and distinctly, as
the nature of these words require
At the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his Passion,
He takes the bread and, holding it slightly raised above the altar, continues
He took bread and, giving thanks, broke it, and gave it to his
disciples, saying:
He bends slightly.
He took the chalice and, once more giving thanks, he gave it to his
disciples, saying:
He bends slightly
Priest:
Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his Death and
Resurrection, we offer you, Lord, the Bread of life and the Chalice of
salvation, giving thanks that you have held us worthy to be in your
presence and minister to you.
Humbly we pray that, partaking of the Body and Blood of Christ, we
may be gathered into one b y the Holy Spirit.
Remember, Lord, your Church, spread throughout the world, and
bring her to the fullness of charity, together with + Francis our Pope
and +Oscar Jaime, our Military Bishop and all the clergy.
In Eucharistic Prayer II, after the words and all the clergy, the following is added:
Remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in
the hope of the resurrection, and all who have died in your mercy:
welcome them into the light of your face.
Have mercy on us all, we pray, that with the Blessed Virgin Mary,
Mother of God, with the blessed Apostles, and all the Saints who
have pleased you throughout the ages, we may merit to be co-heirs
to eternal life, and may praise and glorify you
He joins his hands
Through Him, and with Him, and in Him, O God, almighty Father, in
the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honor is yours, for ever and
ever.
The people acclaim
Priest:
At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to
say:
He extends his hands and, together with the people, continues
After the Our Father the prayer DELIVER US is omitted. The priest, standing and facing the bride
and the bridegroom invokes upon them God’s blessing, and this is never omitted.
In the invitation, if one or both of the spouses will not be receiving communion, the words in
parenthesis are omitted. In the prayer, the words in parenthesis may be omitted if it seems that
circumstances suggest it, for example, if the bride and bridegroom are advanced in years.
The bride and bridegroom approach the altar or, if appropriate,
they remain at their place and kneel.
The priest with hands joined calls upon those present to pray saying:
Priest: Let us pray to the Lord for his bride and groom who come to
the altar as they begin their married life, that (partaking of the body
and blood of Christ) they may always be bound together by love for
one another
Then, the Priest, with hands extended over the bride and bridegroom, continues:
Holy Father,
who formed man in your own image,
male and female you created them,
so that as husband and wife, united in body and heart,
they might fulfill their calling in the world;
O God, who, to reveal the great design you formed in your love,
willed that the love of spouses for each other
should foreshadow the covenant you graciously made with
your people,
so that, by fulfillment of the sacramental sign,
the mystical marriage of Christ with his Church
might become manifest
in the union of husband and wife among your faithful;
Grant, O Lord,
that, as they enter upon this sacramental union,
they may share with one another the gifts of your love
and, by being for each other a sign of your presence,
become one heart and one mind.
Then the bride and bridegroom and all present offer a sign, in keeping with local
custom, that expresses peace, communion and charity.
Sign of Peace
The Priest , turned towards the people, extending and then joining his hands, adds
Priest:
The peace of the Lord be with you always.
The people reply
Priest:
Let us offer each other the sign of peace.
And all offer one another a sign, in keeping with local customs, that expresses peace,
Communion, and charity. The Priest gives the sign of peace to a Deacon or minister
Priest:
May this mingling of the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus bring
eternal life to us who receive it.
AGNUS DEI
Meanwhile the following is sung or said:
Commentator:
Please kneel.
The Priest genuflects , takes the host and, holding it slightly raised above the paten or above the
chalice, while facing the people, says aloud:
Priest:
Behold the Lamb of God, behold him who takes away the sins of the
world. Blessed are those called to the supper of the Lamb.
And together with the people he adds once:
Commentator and People:
Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only
say the word and my soul shall be healed.
The Priest, facing the altar, says quietly:
Priest:
May the Body of Christ keep me safe for eternal life.
And he reverently consumes the Body of Christ.
Then he takes the chalice and says quietly:
First, the Priest gives communion to the couple possibly on both kinds of Body and Blood. Then,
he gives Holy Communion to the people.
After this, he takes the paten or ciborium and approaches the communicants. The Priest raises a
host slightly and shows it to each of the communicants, saying:
Priest:
The Body of Christ.
The communicant replies.
Communicant:
Amen.
Priest:
Let us pray…

Then the Deacon, or the Priest himself, with hands joined and facing the people, says:
Priest:

The people reply:
