IMPROVING THE TRANSPORT SYTEM ON LOGISTICS SUPPORT IN THE LINE

UNITS OF PHILIPPINE ARMY

IMPROVING THE TRANSPORT SYTEM ON LOGISTICS SUPPORT IN THE LINE
UNITS OF PHILIPPINE ARMY
BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

Given the critical role the Philippine Army plays in maintaining the nation's

territoral integrity and sovereignty, effective logistical support is essential to its success.

Improving the transport system for logistics support in the line units of the Philippine

Army can increase its capabilities and preparedness. Transportation is a crucial part of

the logistics system.

The delivery of necessary goods and equipment to individuals in need can be

hampered by a lack of transportation resources and infrastructure, finds a study by the

United Nations logistical Cluster (UN Logistics Cluster, 2017). Transportation is a major

aspect in the effectiveness of logistical operations.

According to a research by Tal Placido et al. (2020), there are considerable

difficulties with the transfer of logistics support to line troops in the Philippine Army,

including insufficient resources, subpar infrastructure, and ineffective procedures. To

enhance the delivery of logistical assistance to line units, the study advises the

implementation of new transportation technologies and the optimization of

transportation routes.

Logistics support is critical to the success of military operations, and

transportation is a crucial component of the logistics system. The study likely aimed to

identify opportunities to improve the transport system for logistics support in the

Philippine Army by assessing the current system and determining areas for

improvement. By enhancing the transportation system, the Philippine Army can improve
its logistics support capabilities, increase readiness and effectiveness, and ultimately

better serve the nation.

The Philippine Army's transport system for providing logistical support to line

units need to improve in order to overcome the problems and inefficiencies with this

system. The lack of focus on particular line units, the inadequate consideration of the

human dimension, the limited study of cutting-edge transportation technologies, and the

absence of empirical research to inform decision-making are a few examples of these

issues. By addressing these issues, the Philippine Army can become more operationally

ready overall, improve the logistics support delivery system, and eventually contribute to

the country's defense and security.

PROBLEM STATEMENT & RESEARCH QUESTIONS

This study will be conducted to determine the transport system on logistics

support in the line units of Philippine Army. The following questions will be answered.

Specifically, this study aims to answer the following questions:

1. What are the challenges in the logistics support delivery system to line units in

the Philippine Army?

2. What are the gaps in improving the transport system on logistics support in the

line units of the Philippine Army?

3.What are the ways to improve the the transport system on logistics support be

improved in the line units of the Philippine Army?

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY:

There is a need to determine the ff:

1. To describe the challenges in the logistics support delivery system to line units in the

Philippine Army.

2. To determine the gaps in improving the transport system on logistics support in the

line units of the Philippine Army

3. To evaluate the transport system on logistics support in the line units of the Philippine

Army.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY:

The Philippine Army can improve operational preparedness by identifying the

problems with the logistics support delivery system to line units. The Army can enhance

national security by being prepared to face both internal and external problems. The

study will have significant social and economic impact. The Philippine Army and other

parties participating in logistics operations might profit from reduced transportation costs

and increased transportation efficiency by enhancing the transport system for logistics

support. Through the use of cutting-edge transportation technologies and the building of

new transportation infrastructure, the study will also foster employment possibilities and

economic growth.
SCOPE & LIMITATION OF THE STUDY

The scope of the study includes the logistics support delivery system to line

units in the Philippine Army. The study will only focus in the First Infantry Division.

RESEARCH PLAN

This study will employ descriptive and quantitative approaches. This data will be

obtained through interviews with military officials and industry experts, as well as

through a review of relevant documents and logistic reports that relates to the improving

the transport system on logistics support in the line units of Philippine Army.
